No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)

Chapter 7: Quiet Coyote (Part 7)

Victor Strange was all packed up, and he felt ready to head back to his responsibilities as the Sorcerer Supreme. The Nebraska excursion he was on with Ezekiel and Wade had taken an interesting turn tho, and the baby Strange noticed that shortly after he woke up.

He got some breakfast in the motel lobby, and he noticed that Wade and Ezekiel were avoiding each other when he returned to the room. Wade seemed pissed off or something, so Victor started looking into their behavior a bit more. He packed a plate full of yummy breakfast food, and he watched Wade pour himself a cup of coffee that was brewed in the room.

Ezekiel walked around him. He didn't say anything to Wade, and he quietly inspected a small selection of fruit. The Jackal stared at one of the apples, because it didn't seem real. He was always weird with his food, so Victor wasn't surprised to see him look over everything he was about to eat.

Hmmm… Wade was also dressed up in his Deadpool costume. His mask was pushed up, and he's the one that brought Ezekiel some food. The vibe in the room was super weird, but Victor refrained from commenting on it.. for now.

He only said something about returning to the Sanctorum. He had to check in with Wong first, then go from there based on whatever the Mystic Arts needed. Victor knew that he had to get his ass in gear, because his list of responsibilities was getting longer and longerrrrrrr…

He had to meet up with his sister, and eventually his brother too. Victor had too much shit to do, and he was dreading it. He poured himself a cup of warm coffee too and he smiled at Wade after he took a sip. The mercenary gave him a half-ass smile, so Victor's left eyebrow arched upward.

"Are you two fighting?"

HAH. The baby Strange grinned. Ezekiel looked in Victor's direction for only a moment, then he removed his focus from the question entirely. He was peeling an orange that Wade brought him. Wade HAD to bring him something to eat, because Ezekiel couldn't leave the motel room without wearing his armor. Doing that was an interesting risk…

Wade Wilson worked with the "White Jackal"… not Ezekiel, so things were getting complicated. Ezekiel was contemplating a new suit to adjust to all of that. His mind was consumed with the thought of mirrors, and his image possibly being concealed by using a different reflection…

He didn't spare a moment, or put any energy toward answering Victor's silly question. He wasn't "fighting" with Wade, but he was annoyed with the conversation that took place on the roof. The mercenary didn't listen to him at all up there, and he just mouthed off, stuff…

Ezekiel was affected by what was said, but he refused to show it. He just ate the orange and he finished packing up his belongings. Wade sipped his coffee, and he held onto thoughts about talking to Charles Xavier. Victor's comment stirred his focus for a moment, so he looked in Ezekiel's direction.

That MUTE didn't say shit, so Wade held a scowl and he went back to sipping his morning coffee. His drink was packed with sugar, and some hazelnut flavored goodness.

"You two ARE fighting.. hahahaha…."

Holy shit. Hahaha Victor had to laugh. He was so amused with what he saw in that motel room. He didn't know what happened after he fell asleep, but clearly they were fighting and it was cuuuutttteeeeee. Obviously something was up. Victor wondered about it, but the amusing moment had to come to an end. He had a plan all mapped out with Ezekiel, and the Sorcerer Supreme planned to stick to it.

He scarfed down his food, tossed his empty plate and coffee cup in the trash, then he tossed his duffle bag over his shoulder. He didn't pack much, and he put his hand out in Ezekiel's direction. Victor wanted to take his stuff back to their place, cuz that was the plan. The Jackal noticed Victor's hand, and he understood what it meant.

Victor was ready to leave, and they both had work to do. Ezekiel said nothing as he gave Victor his stuff. He didn't say anything either after one of those portals slowly formed. The "quiet coyote" simply stared at the orange light that encircled Victor's body. He took that moment to study the energy that was produced. The Mystic Arts was a puzzling thing, and Ezekiel's eyes quickly travelled around the portal.

"I'll see you two later. Work it out soon, ok?"

Bye bye for now. Victor gave them both a playful wave, then all of a sudden his warmth and that energy was gone. He took Ezekiel's overnight bag and bounced. The Jackal kept quiet after the portal vanished. He finished peeling his orange in silence, then he tossed one of the peels in a small trash can.

"Are we going to the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility first, or are we going to Xavier's….."

Wade spoke first, and his tone was pretty flat. He was annoyed with the conversation that took place on the roof as well, and he didn't feel like commenting on anything Victor said. He'd hate to "corrupt" the moment, or say something that warranted some sort of intervention from the Stalker-FUCK-Council.

The mercenary was feeling pretty bitter, and he planned to have a conversation with everyone's favorite mutant psychic. Ezekiel took his time responding to Wade, and he made sure not to look in his direction. He had an answer for him, because speaking to Xavier was something that he needed to take care of as well.

"Xavier is already expecting us."

"Good. I'm ready when you are.."

Wade covered his face with his mask, and he poured the rest of his coffee down the sink. His back was turned to Ezekiel, and the young man knew that. He took a moment to look in Wade's direction. He looked at his suit, and he studied his behavior for a bit too long. Wade caught him staring, like always, so Ezekiel told him he was ready to go..
