No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)
Chapter 23: (s)AINT (Part 3)
…
Ok people, let's fast forward just a little bit. The Bucky Barnes we all know and love was still in Nebraska, learning how to run a farm with Eugene Strange.
Steve Rogers jumped in after a while, and he learned right along with Bucky right up until the cows came home. Of course the blonde stayed for "supper", because Beverly Strange insisted. Afterwards, he went home to Tony.
…
Far from Nebraska, Victor Strange reluctantly left the moon with Thor Odinson after the meeting. He managed to send a message off to Ezekiel Stane when he could, and he even managed to read what the "Jackal" wrote to him about Wade Wilson…
Wait, so, Ezekiel wanted to be "alone" with him? Uhhh… Victor felt super jealous, but it's not what you think. He wanted to be "alone" with Deadpool too, cuz that freak show was yummy as fuhhhkkk…
Victor swallowed down some thoughts about their last encounter. They both let the mercenary do whatever he wanted, and then some. His thirst game was off the charts, and Victor kinda caught the vibe that Wade knew all about it. The mercenary also knew that he was good looking, charming and sexy AF…
Uhmaaahhh.. the baby Strange started thinking about some advice he recently received from Tony Stark. The advice had to do with letting go of control, Ezekiel's feelings for Wade, and about being there for him in the long run. He loved Ezekiel with all his heart, so…
Uhh, oh yeah, Victor did his best to focus. He followed along after Thor Odinson, and they began a conversation about his older brother. Thor wanted to explain his side to the whole "acquaintance" thing, but the demigod failed to do so.
But, judging by Stephen's behavior earlier, Thor had a feeling that everything would eventually be discussed.
…
Now, back at the moon, Stephen, Clea, Sofia, and Donna Strange made their way OUT of the large meeting room. They all exchanged smiles and glances, and Stephen's eyes stopped at his wife.
Clea was holding Sofia's hand, and her other hand was stationed on her left hip. Her body language said a lot in that moment, but Stephen didn't mind. He had to start things off with Thor Odinson at some point, and a reckoning was a must.
That wasn't just Agamotto talking either. Stephen's mind was all his when he spoke to Thor. He wanted to finally make things crystal clear, and an excursion was the perfect way for him to get it done…
…
"Our daughter needs a distraction, Stephen."
…
Clea Strange had a soft voice, but there was a sternness to it when she was in a certain mood. Her mood was altered as soon as Stephen and Thor began their games. She knew what the two of them were doing, and it's safe to say she was a bit unhappy with what was said.
Say what? Sofia needed a distraction? Stephen's own distraction settled for a moment. His mind returned to where he was, and he noticed that his wife was standing there beside him, alone.
The former Sorcerer Supreme quickly looked around for his sister and daughter. Donna and Sofia went, where? Hold on.
…
"Donna and Sofia went ahead and left. They are in Kathmandu right now, because you and I clearly need to have a conversation."
…
Clea graciously cleared that detail up, and she watched the confusion as it disappeared from her husband's face. A playful look took hold shortly after, because Stephen was looking forward to sparring with Thor. A "duel" between them was truly in the works, because of Clea.
Stephen wanted things very clear. He closed his eyes for a moment, because a very warm hand gently touched his skin. Clea took both of his hands, and she looked up at his face. In her mind, any sort of "duel" between Thor and her husband was a waste of time.
…
"What kind of distraction? What do you mean?"
…
"I mean, our daughter doesn't need to be pondering Agamotto's role in our marriage at all. She needs a distraction, and I feel ready for it."
…
She didn't mind Stephen leaving. Clea knew that he was bound and determined to put Thor Odinson in his place. She wasn't going to argue with him, or persuade him to stop. No, Clea was only interested in giving Sofia a different focus.
They had discussed having a second child for a long time, if you recall…
Clea wanted to have Stephen's child, but the experience was stolen from her in the cruelest of ways. The thought of what happened brought her mood down as low as it could get, so Stephen dropped of all his selfish thoughts for a sec.
He gently touched his wife's face, and he brought her in close. Stephen understood what Clea was saying. He and Agamotto would never deny her anything, so the man decided that his business with Thor and Victor could friggen wait.
…
Last but not least, Ezekiel Stane and Tony Stark worked on the S.H.A.D.O.W. armored fleet until the cows came home as well.
LOL, well, Tony got a message from Steve Rogers… that's what ended the work day. The inventor gave Wade Wilson a big smile before he made his way back to Brooklyn, and that left Deadpool in a room all alone with the quiet coyote.
Ezekiel STILL looked like Rae-Ann, and that shit was cray. Wade still wasn't used to it, but he said the first thought that crossed his mind to break up all the silent ice.
…
"Wanna go to Sister Margaret's? I feel like it's been a year.."
…
Wade was in the mood for a drink. They could grab some food on the way too, if "Rae-Ann" was into that sort of thing. Hmmm.. the mercenary noticed that Ezekiel was responding to some sort of message.
The Jackal received a response from Victor, but he wasn't sure how to translate what was written. Victor only wrote him the words, "lucky duck" and that was it.
So, was he supposed to be the lucky duck? Or, was Wade the lucky one? And, how are ducks lucky? Ezekiel pondered the peculiar message, then he looked over in Wade's direction. The man mentioned Sister Margaret's. The Jackal had gone to that bar with Wade a number of times…
He'd be entering that bar as Rae-Ann tho, and Ezekiel wondered if Wade actually approved. The young man took a moment to look over his work before he responded to him. He did plan on spending the evening with Wade. Ezekiel wanted to..
So, he stepped away from his work, and he quietly approached the man in red. Wade looked down at someone else when Ezekiel told him yes.
He said he wanted to go, and Wade's chest immediately filled with joy. Whooo hooo.. the merc even jumped back a little, and he spun around a bit like a bulky ballerina.
Ezekiel was more than amused with Wade's reaction. The Jackal smiled a little bit, and his mind pondered the "lucky duck" message that he recently received.
