No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)
Chapter 24: (s)AINT (Part 4)

Wade Wilson was known to down a few drinks and "paint the town red" at a place called Sister Margaret's.

Now, Sister Margaret's is a bar that acts as a hub for mercenaries to cash in on certain… jobs. The establishment is also known as the "Hellhouse" and the building once operated as a boarding house for Catholic school girls.

For those who don't know, the bar is run by a man named Weasel. Besides being a bartender, Weasel was an information broker, an arms dealer, and then some….

His code name was Weasel, but Ezekiel Stane came to know that his real name was Jack Hammer. Any possible relation to a man named Justin Hammer was irrelevant information tho, because the shit technology and weaponry from "Hammer Industries" always made Ezekiel laugh…

As for Weasel, the man was very annoying. Speaking of annoying, Ezekiel glanced up from the drink that was placed in front of him as Weasel spoke to Wade. The Jackal determined a while ago that Deadpool considered him to be a close friend.

That peculiar "friend" was speaking to Deadpool right there in that moment, and he didn't really acknowledge Ezekiel at all. Well, Ezekiel was there as Rae-Ann. Wade didn't get a chance to introduce him in his disguised appearance, because Weasel dominated the conversation right away.

Ezekiel and Wade were sitting far off from the main bar. They were technically in a booth of sorts, and the Jackal started staring at the drink he ordered. He wanted to talk to Wade, but he and Weasel had a lot to catch up on…

"What happened to RoboCop?"

"RoboCop" was the nickname Weasel gave Ezekiel when they first met, but he barely revealed himself to anyone there at Sister Margaret's. Weasel only really knew him by his white armor, and Wade was good about keeping Ezekiel all to himself.

"UHHH, RoboCop dumped me the other day Weasel… this rebound here is Rae-Ann. She's a cutie and I just picked her up, so be nice or I'll bleed you dry."

Wade had a big smile. He glanced over at "Rae-Ann" as he answered Weasel's random question, then the man quickly downed his drink. Ezekiel caught the rebound reference. It amused him, so he looked back over at the infamous "Deadpool".

"Well, I think you're better off. RoboCop seemed like a sad handful. You sure know how to pick um' Wade."

"I'll always have a soft spot and a hard on for RoboCop… so shut your trash talking mouth."

A sad handful? Ezekiel listened to the unexpected feedback, then he glanced down at his drink when he heard how Wade responded to it. Weasel wasn't known for keeping his mouth shut. Ezekiel thought of that as he tipped back his drink.

He finished the whole thing in one gulp, and it was getting easier. A lot of things relating to Wade felt easier…

"So where did this guy find you, Rae-Ann? You seem a bit uptown for this clown."

Ezekiel looked up from his hands once again. Weasel spoke directly to him, and the Jackal thought over what he said. Uptown? His eyes immediately migrated across the small table. Wade was sitting right in front of him, and he felt rather close.

Deadpool was getting used to Ezekiel's quiet nature, and he was also getting used to what his eyes were saying. Wade could tell that he didn't understand something Weasel said. Something was lost there in the culture gap.

He could also tell that Ezekiel didn't want to answer Weasel's question. Actually, it looked like he didn't want to talk to Weasel at all. Luckily he didn't have to, cuz Wade planned to make him hit the road.

"Correctamundo Weasel. My lovely companion is way too uptown for this clown. Don't you have a bar to run?"

Run run run. He even pointed over toward the main part of the bar. The mercenary wanted to talk to "Rae-Ann" alone, so his good friend Weasel needed to piss off.

Wade's vibe was sharp and snarky. He wanted Weasel to pour drinks and go do what he did best. The man finally caught the hint, so Ezekiel drew in a slow breath when he finally walked away.

"Have you ever seen RoboCop?"

Say what? Ezekiel looked at Wade's face for a moment. He wasn't wearing his Deadpool costume, so his face was distracting. Also, the question was very random, and the Jackal wasn't sure what it meant.

He knew that Weasel called him "Robocop", but he didn't know what the nickname meant at all. Ezekiel assumed it was a person..

"No. I've never met it or seen it. I don't know what that means."

"RoboCop is the name of an old movie. You should watch it. We could watch it … at my place, later, if you want? I think you'd like it."

Netflix and chill? Now, Wade's intentions were simple and pure, but deep down he wanted to take Ezekiel back to his place. He missed having him around, and …

Uhh, OH, and he made sure to watch those expressions. Ezekiel took his time with the RoboCop thing, and the gentle request to return to Wade's home. The Jackal never watched movies, not even with Victor Strange.

Wade watched his face as he processed. It wasn't Ezekiel's face at all, but he reacted in a similar manner. Was his reaction suppressed? How did that shit actually work? The mercenary needed to know everything about it, so he pulled his chair over more toward the quiet coyote…

The chair scraped across the floor, but Wade ignored it. He brought himself closer and closer, then he stopped beside Ezekiel's right leg. The Jackal was super silent, but his eyes shot up from the table. He looked right at Wade..

"If I were to make a move on you, how fast would all of that suppression stuff kick in? Is Charles Xavier stalking you right now? How does he know what to suppress?"

"He's not stalking me, and the speed of the suppression depends on your move."

Well well well.. Wade heard some more of Ezekiel's gentle voice. He was glad to hear it, even if it came from a different face. Sooooo, all the suppression bullshit depended upon the move HE made? That felt like an interesting challenge.

"So if my move overwhelms you, pisses you off, or distracts you, what happens? I want to know how it works…"

"You should already know this information. You read the file about the Surveillant Council today…"

"The S.H.I.E.L.D. file told me everything about the Stalker Council, but it didn't give me your perspective at all. How fast does the suppression work? And, how committed are you to this… Rae-Ann? Are you a full-fledged woman?"

So many questions. Ezekiel processed eight different questions coming from Wade, but his mind was only focused on the person in front of him. There was a devious smile going on in that moment, and Ezekiel couldn't help but stare at him. Wade was very charming, and …

"I ask Charles Xavier to suppress what I'm feeling, when I feel it. That's how it works…"

Now, as for his current appearance as Rae-Ann? Ezekiel was determined to keep details about that to himself. His commitment to her served more as a beacon for the cause. Her name was a reminder of what Ezekiel was capable of, and a means to keep his identity safe.

Ezekiel managed to pry his eyes away from Wade for a moment, and he looked over toward the bar again. The Jackal wanted another drink, and he thought about buying it by the bottle.
