(Hey guys. For a long time I've had a Pokémon story saga in mind. Years ago I attempted to write one in notebooks though that didn't last. I grew up with the games and anime/movies, it meant so much to me and I've felt a more nostalgic interest in it lately. I wanted to do this teaser to test the waters to see how it fits and how y'all feel about it. I might eventually do this anyways though whenever it's started is in part due to the audience reception of it. I know I have a lot of stories I'm still working on and part of me feels guilty for writing and uploading this while I already have current stories I still need to update. Still, I wanted to make this teaser to see how it feels and how y'all feel about it. And a special thank you and shout out to my friend Nobel Six for giving me his consent to add in a special something to this teaser and possible story saga (keep an eye out for this element) (I can't thank him enough for his constant support, he's a better friend than I deserve). Oh, and imagine the visuals of the story like the art of the Kalos saga (the art after that part of the anime wasn't good). Hope y'all enjoy!)

(Kanto)

A young boy in a cap and designed t-shirt, shorts, and shoes ran alongside his Raticate as rushed through a forest, in hot pursuit of a rare Pokémon. The ecstatic grin on his face couldn't be hidden, he'd only seen a few trainers on TV have such Pokémon before and he wanted to add this one to his team. Despite only having a couple on his roster, he knew that this one would be a memorable and eventual powerful member.

Soon the trainer and his Pokémon came into a clearing where they spotted their target: a Pidgeotto. Though this flying type was a unique Shiny color. The boy couldn't help but dream of seeing his eventual Shiny Pidgeot soaring through the air and defeating opponents at the Indigo Plateau. The Pidgeotto turned, seeing the boy and his Pokémon rushing towards it.

The flying type prepared to take off, but the boy had already called out a command.

"Raticate! Quick attack!"

The normal type growled as he rushed forward at a high speed.

"Raticate!"

Its attack hit its target, sending the Pidgeotto reeling back.

"Pidgeooo!"

The flying type shook off the hit then flapped its wings quickly, using a Gust attack that surged towards Raticate.

"Quick, use Agility!"

"Rat!"

Raticate leapt around the wind, moving in quick bursts as the flying type Pokémon turned its head in multiple directions to try to keep its eyes on its opponent. The shiny Pidgeotto then flew towards Raticate using a Quick Attack in return. The attack struck its target, sending Raticate flying back. The boy gasped and rushed over to his Pokémon.

"Raticate!"

He knelt down beside it, the normal type grunted as it stood up.

"You ok?"

"Raticate."

Raticate nodded in response. The boy smiled.

"Alright buddy, use Quick Attack!"

Raticate rushed forward at high speed, striking the shiny Pidgeotto. The flying type cried out as it was knocked back before getting back onto its feet. The boy grinned, pulling out a Poké Ball.

"Alright, it's time!"

Suddenly several star blasts fired from out of nowhere, striking at the ground where the boy and Raticate were.

The boy gasped as he crawled over to his Raticate, which was struggling to stand.

"Raticate! Raticate, are you ok?"

"R…Raticate…"

The shiny Pidgeotto's eyes widened at this. Then it and the trainer and Raticate's gazes turned when they heard chuckling. A man with a smug grin and sharp pressed clothes with a big red R on the side of his jacket. A shiny Staryu walked beside him.

"Thanks, kid. Made my job easier."

"W-What?"

"I have the role of capturing rare Shiny Pokémon for Team Rocket. While a Pidgeotto isn't exactly the strongest, a Pidgeot is worth consideration."

"G-Get out of here! We worked hard for this!"

"Well your service will no longer be required."

He then pulled out a strange looking device and threw it. From it a net shot out and entangled the shiny Pidgeotto. The flying type cried out as it struggled to escape the net before it suddenly shocked it, making the Pokémon cry out. The man chuckled.

"Hmm, it seems the eggheads really made these nets stronger. Will have to get some more."

Suddenly the flapping of several wings was heard and the shiny Pidgeotoo gasped though not out of fear. From the forest several normal Pidgeottos flew from between the trees. The Team Rocket hunter scoffed.

"No more Shiny Pokémon? Well, we might have some use for you. Staryu, Swift!"

Like before, the Staryu fired several star projectiles forward. Striking every single Pidgeotto that flew forward, before any could react. They all hit the ground. The shiny Pidgeotto's eyes widened.

"Pidego!"

The man then pulled out more of those same devices as before and more nets burst from them, entangling the flying types and shocking them. The boy gasped at this. The Team Rocket hunter then turned to the boy and his Raticate.

"Well, guess it's time to deal with you."

The boy gasped, his Raticate crawling to stand in front of him. The hunter scoffed.

"Pathetic. Alright, Staryu use-!"

"GET AWAY FROM THEM!"

The Team Rocket hunter turned his attention to the side, just before he was tackled and knocked back onto the ground. He gritted his teeth from the hit.

"Why you-! Huh?"

He looked up to see another boy standing where he had been. He was dressed in dark simple clothes, a hood over his head though he could see some of the boy's shaggy dark hair. He was taller than the boy that was on the ground with his Raticate a few yards away. His teeth gritted in a snarl at the hunter and his hands covered by his dark fingerless gloves clenched into fists.

"Team Rocket, you bunch of jerks!"

The hunter's eyes widened as soon as he recognized the boy.

"Y-You…you're that brat that interfered with Team Rocket's plans before! Another brat from Pallet Town!"

The boy just glowered at him. The hunter grumbled as he jumped onto his feet, his Staryu leaping to his side. The man then scoffed.

"But despite that little show you put on to try to intimidate us, you had to be bailed out if I remember. Our organization heard some of the brats in your hometown call you…what was it? Ah yes, it was: Dull or Dirty Dakota. Am I right?"

Dakota growled.

"It was the Pokémon that saved the day."

"Yes, because you're just a new trainer yourself. An amateur."

"Sure, that doesn't mean I'll let you get away with this."

"How are you going to stop me? You won't be able to use blunt force like some dull weapon again."

Dakota took a Poké Ball from his belt and tossed it. The ball opened and a light surged from it and shot out onto the ground. It took a shape which was then revealed to be a Pokémon with long jagged ears, horns, and a pinkish purple hide.

"Nidoran! We gotta help them out!"

His Pokémon nodded then turned and glared at the hunter and Staryu. The hunter laughed.

"One little Nidoran? Worthless! Staryu! Swift!"

"Use Poison Sting!"

Nidoran opened its mouth and several bright purple needle-like projectiles fired at the Staryu as its opponent returned fire with its Swift attack. The attacks collided creating a fog of smoke. Dakota turned to the trainer and the Pokémon behind him. He looked to his Nidoran, which nodded to him.

"Listen for them carefully and when you've got them use Poison Sting."

The poison type nodded before closing its eyes and used its large ears to listen carefully. Dakota rushed over and knelt beside the trainer and Raticate. The boy gasped.

"S-Stop, you'll shock yourself!"

Dakota pulled some gloves from his black and gray backpack and tore off the net. The trainer's eyes went a little wide at this.

"You-"

"Hurry, get out of here while I get these Pidgeottos free."

The boy was about to speak before the trainer rushed over to the flying types.

Nidoran 's ears twitched as it tried to locate the hunter and Staryu as the smoke continued to billow in the space between them. Then he heard the hunter grumble from the other side.

"Little punk. Staryu, Swift!"

Then the poison type heard the shuffle the water type made as it moved on the ground. Nidoran growled as it opened its mouth and fired off another Poison Sting attack. The poison type heard the Staryu grunt and the attack hit. Then the sound of another Pokémon being released from its Poké Ball was heard.

The sound of wings flapping was the first thing that was detected then the smoke flew back and past those present. Dakota had shielded his face then looked up. His eyes widened for a moment then narrowed as his teeth gritted. The Team Rocket hunter not only had a Shiny Staryu by his side, now he'd called for a Shiny Swellow flapped in the air in front of him.

The hunter frowned.

"That was quite the little stunt you pulled, but you're not freeing my catch. Staryu use Swift again!"

The water type fired off its attack without a moment's hesitation. Dakota grunted as he jumped in front of the trapped Pidgeottos.

"Poison Sting!"

The poison type fired off its attack again which collided with the Swift. The hunter didn't wait a second time.

"Swellow! Use Quick Attack!"

"Swellow!"

The flying type took off towards Nidoran . But then it was struck from the side. The Team Rocket hunter glowered at seeing the trainer he ambushed before now standing up, his Raticate having used its own Quick Attack to counter.

"RRRa…Raticate…"

The Raticate heaved up and down, still hurt from the fight with the Pidgeotto and the ambush. Dakota turned to the boy.

"Thanks for the help. You need to call your Raticate back, he's too hurt."

"Not so fast you brats! Swellow! Use Aerial Ace on that Raticate! Staryu! Use Water Gun on Nidoran !"

The Swellow rose into the air and then did a flip then dived at the Raticate as the Staryu shot a blast of water at the poison type.

"Nidoran ! Dodge it and use Tackle!"

The poison type leapt to the side and charged its opponent, striking it and knocking it back. Swellow hit Raticate, sending it flying back before it hit a tree. Its trainer gasped.

"Raticate!"

The Raticate had been knocked out, the boy having rushed over to its side.

"Raticate! No!"

He took the Pokémon in its arms, cradling it. The Shiny Pidgeotto from before watched in surprise at this before its attention returned to seeing the other boy in his battle.

"Tackle, again!"

Nidoran charged forward again, racing across the ground at the Staryu. But the hunter grinned.

"Staryu! Swift! Swellow, use Air Slash!"

Staryu fired off another Swift attack as the flying type flew above the poison type, a sphere of wind energy forming between its wings before being thrown down. Dakota gritted his teeth.

"Poison Sting! Hurry!"

The poison type fired off its attack again, it struck the Swift but the Air Slash struck before it could attempt to halt its attack with Poison Sting as well. Smoke erupted from where Nidoran had been hit before it eventually dissipated before revealing Nidoran on the ground, injured and trying yet failing to stand up. Dakota gasped.

"Nidoran!"

The hunter smirked.

"Nice try, but you're still an amateur."

Dakota gritted his teeth and clenched his hands into fists.

"You won't get away with this!"

He moved to get another Poké Ball from his belt.

"Water Gun! Air Slash!"

The water and flying type fired their respective attacks. Dakota gasped then rushed forward, grabbing his Pokémon and was sent flying as he tried to jump away, the attacks striking around his feet. He maneuvered himself where he hit the tree behind him instead of his Pokémon. Nidoran looked up at Dakota, grunting in worry at seeing its trainer in pain.

The hunter chuckled as he stepped forward, his shiny Pokémon moving beside him.

"Thanks for the exercise, but I think it's time I send you both crying back home…or flying back, maybe both."

He chuckled.

"Swift and Air Slash!"

Suddenly from a distance from them between some trees, a massive stream of dark energy with a thin purple aura and a thick black center fired at the Team Rocket hunter. His eyes widened, panicking alongside his Pokémon as the attack struck them. The hunter, the water type, and the flying type screamed as they were center flying into the sky leaving a tiny star shining in the spot they were last seen. Dakota gasped as he stood up, still holding his Pokémon.

"That was….Hyper Beam."

The other young trainer beside him turned to him.

"Whoa, that was some attack."

"Yeah…come on, let's get these Pokémon free then we'll take them and ours to a Pokémon center."

"Right."

The boy returned his Raticate to its Poké Ball then jogged over to the flying types. Dakota starred in the direction where the Hyper Beam had originated. He stood there for a moment before a small smile appeared on his face and nodded, though he didn't know who and or what to. He returned his poison type to its Poké Ball then gazed at it.

"You did valiantly, Nidoran , thank you."

He then turned to help the Pidgeottos.

(The same woods, a considerable distance away)

Between the trees stood the hidden figure of someone with a cap on their head and their arms crossed. Beside them stood a towering, robust figure with horns and a tail.

"You've got spunk, kid. I can see more of why the Professor likes you so much especially after what you did on your first day of your journey. I can't wait to see what you do next."

(Well, there y'all have it. I hope that you enjoyed this teaser. I was a bit uncertain whether I should do this or not yet through some encouragement from Nobel Six, I was motivated to do this. Please let me know what you think of the teaser and if/when I should start this saga! Thanks again for reading!)
