No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2
Chapter 2: Maximum Effort (Part 2)
After the mendacious meeting with Ezekiel Stane's "Surveillant Council" came to an end, Victor Von Doom returned to his secluded country called Latveria…
He had a scheduled visit with someone after the fact, but he cordially told the former Sorcerer Supreme that he needed to wait. Doom had some research to conduct, and he didn't plan on speaking to anyone until that task was complete.
He entered a large room and looked up toward the a large window. He had his own technology to utilize, and everything in the room activated as soon as he walked in.
The infamous Doctor Doom took it upon himself to gather information on absolutely everyone that crossed his path….
It didn't matter who it was, "friend" or foe, strong or weak, rich or poor. The ominous "antihero" had developed an extensive catalogue of individuals, so he took a moment to finally look through the giant sea of data.
His role as Ezekiel Stane's "teacher" far surpassed the realm of showing him things such as science, mathematics, language, and philosophy. He also taught him how to gather information, and that information was Doom's only form of payment.
He disagreed with the "work" that Ezekiel's buffoon of a father got himself into as the young man grew up, but the information and "data-mining" was still conducted all the same.
And now that the two of them had been reunited, Doom started diving into Ezekiel's research. He wanted to look into his file on an obnoxious man named Wade Wilson.
Doom had never met that vile brute in person before he suddenly showed up in Latveria. He also didn't know crucial details about him, because he unfortunately lost access to Ezekiel's mind shortly after he was taken into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s custody….
Doom hadn't encountered that loud-mouth vermin on his own, but he quickly determined that the man named "Deadpool" was in some sort of relationship with Ezekiel Stane.
…
Honestly, how disturbing…
…
Doom looked over Ezekiel's research on Wade Wilson, and he was very surprised to see that the information he had was minimal. It seemed like that section of their file system had been wiped clean, and that definitely wasn't Ezekiel's style.
The scientist pushed several screens out of his line of sight, then he pulled up a blank screen and he began doing his own form of research. Doom was digging into everything, and he got truckload of hits on the infamous Deadpool straight away.
Oh, how interesting. Doom could see why someone's "quiet coyote" intentionally wiped the file on Wade Wilson clean after scanning through his history for less than 30 seconds….
There were countless warrants for his arrest due to his "career" as a low-life mercenary. Doom read over a few of the warrants, just for fun…
Let's see, there's first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and third-degree murder. Plus there's involuntary manslaughter, voluntary manslaughter, grand theft of a government vehicle, assault and battery, and possession of a controlled substance just to start.
Victor Von Doom also looked into Wade's military history. Oh, 41 confirmed kills? How patriotic…
…
"Canadian filth…"
…
Doom slowly rolled his eyes beneath his mask as he read over how and why Wade was dishonorably discharged from the United States Special Forces. He should have stayed in Canada and continued being a menace to their society.
The ominous scientist held that thought as he looked into Deadpool's upbringing too. He stopped as soon as he read over what allegedly happened with his parents.
His father, Thomas Wilson, was apparently a bold and brave military officer. They obviously didn't get along, since his mongrel of a son was naturally rebellious. That all made sense to Victor Von Doom, but he didn't ignore what was documented about the sudden death of his parents.
Death, murder, and mayhem seemed to follow Wade Wilson wherever he went, so Doctor Doom began to think he was a terrible person to have around Ezekiel Stane.
Though it's true, tragedy strikes hard and often. Doom knew firsthand that the death of a loved one was a tough hill to climb, so he moved on from the historical part of his research. The man started digging into things that were more recent.
He eventually picked up on a S.H.I.E.L.D. file that was describing an injury caused by Wade Wilson after Ezekiel was taken into their custody.
So much for keeping him safe….
The file also revealed details about that ridiculous "Surveillant Council", and it had notes about Obadiah Stane hiring that filthy vermin to kill his own son.
The injury to Ezekiel Stane's body was the final straw, and Doctor Doom hadn't even gotten to the part of Deadpool's life where he actually had a total of TEN different wives. Rumor has it he even has a damn daughter, so Doom inwardly declared that the infamous Wade Wilson was officially NO GOOD for Ezekiel Stane.
…
"You can send Doctor Stephen Strange in now. I'm ready to speak with him."
…
Doom spoke out loud to one of his machines, and the technology around him got to work on his sudden request.
He closed up every trace of his research, and he welcomed the former Sorcerer Supreme into a room that was designed around the idea of having a conversation…
