No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2
Chapter 4: Maximum Effort (Part 4)
Victor Strange was HELLAAAaaaa nervous, and that's why he brought a dozen pair of shoes to pick from, and that's why he fixed his hair a million times.
He was kinda scared to see his not-so-friendly ex-boyfriend/roommate in person once again, because they were really awful toward one another … last time.
Victor didn't want to say anything, and he definitely didn't want to DO anything that would make Clint Barton hate him even more than he already did.
The baby Strange did a lot of homework on how he felt, and how he behaved before. He knew how and when he royally screwed up, and he really failed to notice what was going on in his own apartment….
If he could do it all over, Victor would have agreed to go with his friendly roommate every time he tried to do something special with him.
He would have noticed what was going on in his heart… if he got a do-over.
Oh man. Victor felt way too nervous when the three of them finally reached the concert venue in a section of Japan called Shibuya.
The line was long and kinda crazy, so Victor did everything he could to hide behind Ezekiel and Wade. MAYBE it was better to just, LEAVE. Victor thought about taking off. In fact, he formed a portal back to the United States.
…
Better yet, hiding out in Kathmandu felt like a better plan, so the baby Strange started saying his goodbyes to them out loud. BOTH Wade and Ezekiel stopped him from taking off.
Victor's baby nerves were always a mess, and it always amused the somber Jackal. He could tell how nervous he was, and Wade made it worse by offering him some weed.
The mercenary had a vape pen custom built for moments just like that, so he offered his "top shelf" product to the baby Strange. Victor just shook his head NO over a million times, then he turned his back toward the group as soon as their final guest made his presence known.
Clint Barton was waiting for them there in line, remember, and his vibe was more or less easygoing. He spoke to Wade first, of course, because his connection was off with the other two men that were in the group.
Victor kinda looked at him, but his nerves immediately took over the gig. I mean, WHY was he there? It was so beyond random, because everyone knows that he absolutely hated Ezekiel Stane.
The baby bird did hate Ezekiel Stane for a super long time. That unexpressed thought was CORRECT, but deep down Clint Barton was actually a mature human being. He planned to talk to Ezekiel when the time was right, and he also planned to talk to someone else.
In fact, the archer was trying to establish some eye contact with the person he wanted to talk to, but as usual, Victor Strange was being a bashful mess.
They… almost.. made … eye… contact. The archer gave it another shot as they all stood there in line. The venue wasn't open yet, and one of them could actually read Japanese. Ezekiel told the group that a flashing sign said it would be opening soon.
Cool. Can't wait. Victor took a moment to look over, toward… someone…
…
"HELLO, VICTOR."
…
Jesus effing Christ. The baby Strange heard his not-so-friendly ex say something that sounded pretty salty. "Agent" Barton spoke all loud about it too, so Victor immediately crossed his arms and closed his eyes.
…
"HELLO. I see you… jackass. "
…
There. He responded back, then Victor went back to his previous thought about forming a portal and leaving. Well, he didn't act on that thought, because the "bird boy" actually spoke to him, so…
He looked cute too. Victor noticed that as well, but the baby sorcerer didn't say shit.
