No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)
Chapter 46: Disposable Teens (Part 6)

Soooo….

Taking off in the opposite direction led Clint Barton to almost encounter another smug version of Ezekiel, but hey… seeing Natasha and Yelena out there was a plus.

Their fearless "leader" was actually sparring with them, and the archer caught the hint that the Black Widow was all for it. I mean, how could she not want free armor, and it actually looked super cool.

Yelena's was cool looking too, and hers had details on it that were army green. It fit her personality really well, and so did Natasha's. Hers actually resembled a spider, somehow… it didn't have eight arms, or whatever, but it gave off the vibe of a spider. Yeah, it was cool.

Clint wanted to know how it was done. He also wanted to know what "Shrike" looked like as well as he moved around in the sky. He caught a glimpse of the suit before he put it on, yes, but the archer didn't really look at it and soak it in.

His brain was resisting all of it, because Ezekiel Stane was involved and he/she could fuck off to the deepest/darkest pit of hell.

The thought of their recent conversation, and his "gifts" crossed the baby archer's mind once again, so he scanned his eyes over the area to determine who was where.

Everyone kept chasing after Ezekiel and playing his stupid game, so that meant everyone was far away from him. WELL, GOOD. He didn't wanna play into any team building bullshit, and the archer had some thinking to do.

He THOUGHT about responding to Victor, so he distanced himself from the rest of his team. When the coast was clear, he had that fancy suit re-read his message and refresh his memory.

What the eff did Victor write? He wrote something about revisiting the last message that HE sent? Well, shit, the archer barely remembered what he had for breakfast…

That armor responded to every passing thought. Shrike pulled up his text messages with ease, and the baby archer was brought up to speed before he could even blink.

Ezekiel's tech stuff was INSANE-LY cool, but don't effing telling him that. There was no way in hell, no thanks.

Anyway, the archer reviewed the messages and he eventually sighed. He thought it would be better to talk it out in person, maybe, or perhaps do some sort of video call. Of course, "Agent" Barton didn't want to actually call Victor, maybe? But his mind just rattled off a few solutions to their …predicament.

"Shrike" didn't know the difference, and the technology within the suit was indifferent. Its power was also fed to it through something called the Mind Stone, which was currently owned and operated by Ezekiel Stane.

The Mind Stone picked up what the archer really wanted to do, so a video call to Victor Strange was placed. The signal reached Asgard with ease, but Victor was surprised to suddenly receive a call.

What the? Hold up? He saw that his friendly ex-roommate/boyfriend was calling him. SAY WHAT? Holy efffff, it was a video call too, so Victor spazzed for a sec. His face was burning up to the max, but he kept his cool and answered the call.

Uhh, the baby Strange saw the baby archer for a split second. He saw his face, so Victor smiled, then the screen randomly went black. Clint Barton freaked out. He friggen raged beneath his suit too, because he didn't expect that to happen at all.

He saw Victor's face. He looked all confused, and… cute for a split. What the fuck. "Agent" Barton told his suit to never call him like that again, then he shrieked out loud when he saw that Victor started calling him back. Victor wasn't sure what happened, so…

NO. DO NOT CALL. DO NOT ANSWER. He didn't feel ready to talk to him at all, and his stupid suit butt-dialed his number by mistake.

Jesus effing Christ.

The archer took off toward the horizon and he decided to distract himself by doing something else. He reached his right hand up as he flew toward the group, and he drew something down with his hand.

He wanted a bow to form in the direction his hand went, and it happened. Shrike formed a bow, then the archer pulled an arrow out from behind his right shoulder.

He fired off a shot that detonated between Ezekiel effing Stane and his precious pet. They didn't see it coming, and the baby archer wanted to fight Ezekiel right then and there.

.…

"You and me, pal. Let's go…"

The rest of the crew started looking in the archer's direction, and his intention to fight with Ezekiel became more than clear. The Jackal was happy to oblige his request, but his focus set on Wade's reaction first.
