No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2
Chapter 17: Thuggish Ruggish Bone (Part 7)

"Wade?"

Ezekiel Stane woke up a long while after Wade Wilson left the Airbnb. The goofy mercenary was currently running around Japan, and he started talking to Charles Xavier, remember?

Ezekiel knew nothing of the conversation that took place between Wade, Victor Strange and Clint Barton in the kitchen, but he clearly saw the mess it made. There was pancake mix all over the place, and Wade must have used every single dish that was there in the cupboards.

The Jackal slowly made his way toward all the food, then he started picking at one of those pancakes.

He developed a taste for Wade's crazy cooking. Everything he made had a delicious flavor, and it was always crisp and crunchy. Ezekiel built himself a plate of breakfast goods, then he looked around for any sign of life.

Everyone was, gone? The feeling was a bit unsettling, so the Jackal turned to his technology in an effort to correct it. Zephyr had all the answers for him, and it immediately alleviated some of Ezekiel's nerves.

The mighty "Sevgili" was all the way across town, while "Shrike" was on a boat heading toward another location. The different locations of his technology threw Ezekiel off even more, so he silently sent Victor Strange a message.

He just sent him a casual good morning, and he apologized for missing their company and breakfast.

He didn't expect an instant reply. In fact, Ezekiel didn't hope for one. The baby Jackal wanted Victor to focus on Agent Barton, because that seemed to bring some balance and peace to the universe…

Wade's absence was troubling tho, but Ezekiel couldn't reach out to him. He couldn't do that, because something happened just before he woke up…

Someone woke him up, actually, and you can think of what happened as something like a giant info-dump.

You see, "someone" out in a place called Latveria put certain information back into Ezekiel's internal file system, and that behavior served to be a clever message…

Victor Von Doom was taking it upon himself to return information to Ezekiel's mental brickwork. He had an elaborate file system constructed within his mental "home," and the message Doom sent was very telling.

The ruler of Latveria was digging into Wade's past, and he was carefully reminding Ezekiel of all his transgressions. The trip down memory lane made Ezekiel wake up in an instant. He suddenly had a mental reminder, and a revamped file within his mind that he didn't ask for…

That clever message was officially strike one, Doctor Doom, cuz the Jackal was getting pretty tired of all the mind games. His body was exhausted, and he wondered if Victor Von Doom was aware of that. Was he watching them all night? Who knew….

So, let's fast forward back to Ezekiel being all alone in the Airbnb. He ate an entire pancake by the time Wade ran all the way back to the house.

He opened the door in a hurry, loud as fuck, but Ezekiel smiled at him all the same. He wasn't sure why he left, but the Jackal couldn't ask.

Wade was right there in an instant. He started things off by kissing Ezekiel's forehead and inspecting his appearance straight away. The two of them shared a gentle kiss after a while, but Wade broke the moment with some nervous talk.

"Hey there, Shiny. Sorry I kinda wrecked the place."

Ezekiel didn't mind the mess. He didn't mind it at all, actually, so he almost asked Wade why he super-cleaned his home back in New York. Ezekiel wanted to know why Wade suddenly cleared out most of the clutter in his house, but his exhaustion diluted the thought.

"It's ok Wade. I was thinking we could just, stay in today? I'd like to watch one of those movies you like…"

Ezekiel wasn't up for going anywhere or doing anything. His body was tired, and he definitely didn't want to tell Wade about what happened earlier. Long story short, the Jackal didn't want to upset him, or start a war.

He took a moment and realized that Wade already seemed a bit more than upset. His conversation with Charles Xavier calmed him down, but Wade's vibes were still pretty shaky.

The merc absolutely LOVED the idea of staying there tho, and the thought of showing Ezekiel another movie just brightened his friggen day.

Wade's soul lit up like it was Christmas, and he quickly told Ezekiel that he would bring him some more breakfast in bed. Apparently he had an entire meal planned out for him, but chaos struck and it ruined his plans.

The Jackal's mood brightened as well. He simply smiled at Wade, and quietly followed him back to their room.

The merc started saying something about "manifesting" their day, and he said he wanted it to feel easy peasy, lemon squeezy and Ezekiel didn't know what to think of that comment.

Lemons were sour, Wade, so the baby Jackal pondered his choice of words for a sec…
