No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2
Chapter 19: Thuggish Ruggish Bone (Part 9)
Come on now Victor, Donna Strange wasn't being a snob, or treating her engagement to James Buchanan as a secret. The young woman just had a lot on her mind.
She simply took a page out of her baby brother's book, and she operated like a total "space cadet" whenever the subject came up.
She broke the news to her older brother first because Stephen showed up at the tail end of that long-winded Surveillant Council meeting. He tacked on some interesting information about Victor Von Doom, then his razor sharp eyes spotted those rings.
Donna wanted to talk to him about it anyway, so it all worked out in the long run. More to the point, VICTOR didn't even notice she was wearing a ring when she was sitting directly across from him during the meeting, so that baby ass brat could effing wait….
Anyway, Donna went home to the Kamar taj for the evening, because James told her that he wanted his apartment in Brooklyn to be completely cleared out before the two of them could stay there.
OH ho hooo… rest assured, Donna wanted that apartment cleared out as well… so that naturally worked out in the sister's favor. Now, after all that Ezekiel Stane/Wade Wilson/Doctor Doom/Surveillant Council drama came to an eventual end, Donna sought refuge in Kathmandu.
Before she reached that place of peace tho, James mentioned that he wanted the two of them to visit with Steve Rogers. He clearly needed to catch up with his best friend, so the two of them agreed to meet and talk to him the next morning.
Soooooooo, with all of those pesky details out of the way, what do you think that meant for Miss Donna Strange?
That meant she had to join him, and that also meant she had to interact with Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. She didn't mind mingling with those two interesting human beings in the slightest, but why oh why were the vibes always so awkward?
The morning arrived faster than you'd think, and Miss Donna Strange found herself looking around Tony and Steve's adorable living space. It was quaint, simple, yet it also had this sophisticated charm.
She saw a clever mixture of their two personalities all throughout the apartment. How fucking cute are they… so why the peculiar vibes?
Donna had been there before, sorta. Actually, "Bucky" and Donna kept to themselves most of the time back when she used to live down the hall. She'd only interact with them occasionally, so it wasn't like they were close.
That could change in a heartbeat tho, it just depended on all the… vibes. Tony Stark had the biggest vibes out of the entire group. Donna studied them a little as he showed her something that he designed.
James wanted him to customize her wedding ring, and Donna was very impressed with all of Stark's, tech stuff. He had a beautiful plan in mind to incorporate elements that resembled both of her brother's amulets.
That was more important to her than anyone knew, so she gave him a warm smile. It was way too early in the design process to really comment on what Tony planned to produce, but she was excited.
Tony seemed excited as well, but none of them matched the excitement that seemed to beam out of the soul of Steve Rogers. Donna wasn't surprised to witness it, in fact, she was pretty intrigued.
…
Her level of being "intrigued" quadrupled in less than a nano-second, because Miss Donna Strange's eyes happened upon an interesting gesture. Oh, it was so so so subtle, but boy was it interesting.
She probably resembled her older brother Stephen when she saw it, cuz the vibes in the room started tipping just below the level of crazy.
Tony Stark went to do something in their cute little kitchen, so he went to walk aroundthe newly reformed "Bucky Barnes"…
And like a bad habit, "James" did something instinctive to mess with him. He stepped in his way, then out of his way, and Tony countered the gesture by kicking the back of his calf.
The action was sooooooo super quick, automatic, and natural, but those vibes were actually super flirty, and vibes never lie. SO, given Donna Strange's unique history with Tony Stark, she quickly assumed that the man was simply being a shameless flirt.
More like, a shameless dick tease. Do we all recall how things went down with her older brother? Uhhhh, Donna smiled through the thought, then she turned her attention toward the forever attentive Steve…
That beautiful blonde looked like he had something to say to one of them, or maybe both of them?
Who knows? But since they were already there, together at one location, Donna was beyyyyooooonnnndddd eager to actually hear about it and finally get everyone on the same page…
