No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)
Chapter 58: Chaos Control (Part 8)

Donna Strange was asked to attend a "quick" meeting with the Surveillant Council, but best believe that shit was going to take over most of her morning…

She told the rest of the members that she'd head that way soon, because she was currently having breakfast.

Well, sorta. She wasn't that hungry, and she was more focused on brushing the knots out of her hair before she left the room. James had a habit of messing it up with his "deviant" like behavior.

Donna had a good laugh when she was told about her father's comment. Eugene Strange called "Bucky Barnes" a damn deviant, because he snuck his daughter out of the house centuries ago. How hilarious.

She took a couple bites of the waffles that James procured, then she smiled at him off and on as she got dressed. That good looking deviant made himself at home on the small bed below him, and he watched Donna rummage through her clothes.

She was only wearing something called a …slip? Or, well, it was some sort of pretty night dress… thing. It had some pretty lacy ruffly stuff on it too, and Bucky really liked the color. It was some sort of orange-ish red color too. Blood red? No it was more orange. Dunno, so, the man had to ask her about it.

"What color is that thing you have on?"

He pointed his fork in her direction, and Donna glanced up at Mr. James Buchanan Barnes. Donna wasn't wearing a "thing" and what color was it? Donna actually had to double check.

"This is a nightgown, and the color is coral."

OH CORAL. Well, he liked it. Bucky couldn't think of a single color that wouldn't look good on Donna Strange. She had long dark hair, with skin that was soft, silky and porcelain white. She wore bright colors all the time too, so, Bucky swallowed down a couple thoughts.

He looked at the wedding ring that dominated her left hand. Bucky wanted to have something added to it, which would be bound forever to that precious family heirloom.

They spoke about it before he left and got the two of them some breakfast. Bucky even thought about WHO was going to attach what he wanted to Donna's ring.

Tony Stark owed him a favor. Well, that effingdick tease owed him a whole lot more than that, and Bucky planned to collect whenever he saw his punkass face again...

He planned to accomplish that sooner than you'd think, because the not-so-winter soldier's first objective was to talk to Steve. Steve Rogers was the only choice to be his best man, so… he had to break the news to the blonde eventually.

Until then, Bucky only planned to sit tight and support Donna's efforts to support Ezekiel Stane, when the time was right.

According to an update from the "White Jackal", they were still a few days away from heading into the church in Loup County. That meant the two of them were going to remain in their fancy room, and… do… stuff.

Donna smiled at James, because he seemed very deep in thought. She sat down beside him after she changed her clothes, then she tried to convince him to head in with her.

Noooo way. Bucky wasn't in the mood for a meeting, and he didn't feel like it was the right time to talk to Steve.

Donna understood his response. She gave him a simple kiss, then she formed a portal straight to the location where all of the Surveillant Council members held their meetings.

Think of it as a large command center, because there was a lot more going on beneath the surface of what everyone was seeing.

Ezekiel Stane was a uniquely complicated human being, you see, and there truly was an entire team of people who were devoted and dedicated to keeping him safe.

Donna was unable to be brought up to speed when she entered the space, but apparently Tony Stark stumbled onto some interesting information.

The "Council" was in the middle of a video-call just as Donna sat down. They tried to include Wade Wilson and "Rae-Ann" into the conversation, but we all saw how that went…

Ezekiel Stane was actually shown in the background of Wade's screen, but he was clearly hiding himself beneath some blankets and a pillow. Donna wasn't very amused with what everyone had witnessed, but the sister didn't say a word about it to anyone..

She just glanced down at her left hand, and she thought about the evening she spent with James. They spoke about their "engagement", and yet, they also had a conversation about it being an actual thing…

Donna wanted that. She agreed to it, and that was kind of a big deal, so… it's safe to say Donna was a little more than distracted. Guess who noticed first? And, guess whose diamond blue eyes stopped directly at the fancy ring she was wearing on her left hand…

Steve Rogers was all up on that shit. He saw what he saw, and a curiosity immediately began to take over his best-bud soul.

I meannnn, that ring on her finger looked like it was the real deal. WAS IT? AND the way she was looking at it had the blonde freaking out. He looked at Tony over a million times, but his Little Red Corvette was very focused on the matter at hand.

Donna's eyes met Steve's when he quickly looked back in her direction. The two of them hadn't really … discussed… "Bucky"…. before… so ….

"So, you all heard that noise. Wade Wilson will get his six days, then he will be brought up to speed if we all agree?"

Charles Xavier was speaking to everyone on the Surveillant Council. Tony brought them all up to speed about his discovery, but the answer to the inventor's "energy" question hadn't revealed itself over time.

The infamous "Iron Monger" was being run by what exactly? Or who? He honestly couldn't figure it out, and Tony tried every trick in the book.

"I have a strong suspicion that the Iron Mongers are going to be powered by Rae-Ann herself, but I'm not sure if she knows that…"

Something was very off, and Tony began to think that a trap was being set for someone specific. Steve Rogers already heard Tony's suspicions that morning, but getting down to the bottom line of it was the next step.

"Do you think we should encourage Rae-Ann to abort this mission?"

"I don't think you can convince her to do that. Everything in my gut is telling me that someone else is involved, but she doesn't even know it, and we can't see it yet ….so, I say we just carry on as normal, support and monitor this mission, then bring in the big guns once it's all over."

Oh, and the term "once it's all over" means in six days, and the "big guns" meant that they were bringing in another mutant.

Charles Xavier planned to bring that mutant in after six days to talk to Ezekiel, and shit was going to really hit the fan in six days too. Xavier said he was done playing nice, and that's why the Surveillant Council had to have their little meeting.

"So, let's talk it out and vote on this. Anyone have any questions?"

Good ol' Steve Rogers opened up the group discussion, and his eyes ventured in Donna's direction once again. She definitely had a million questions, because she arrived a bit late to the party.

She gave everyone in the room a warm smile, then she asked Tony Stark to explain the "missing energy" part of the conversation that she missed.
