No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)
Chapter 70: We're From America (Part 10)

Victor Strange didn't expect his Asgardian excursion to turn into a full-blown war.

His brother told him to expect things like that at all times, because he was supposed to be taking over as the Sorcerer Supreme. Victor was listening to him, and he knew that his brother was putting him through some sort of test.

He'd been through that before, with an older version of Stephen. Victor didn't forget jack shit, so he started taking a closer look at what was actually happening around him.

The spell he cast with his brother was greatly strengthened by Sofia, and Karnilla was clearly being overpowered by Thor. The killing blow for her came after Clea took off and headed upward.

His sister-in-law's energy suddenly collided with Hela's, and Clea managed to prevent her from breaking their spell.

Keep in mind that actions and reactions were always a thing, so Stephen responding quickly and heading upward to protect his wife was expected.

It all seemed to be moving around and lining up at this perfect pace. Victor could see that it was… possibly… an illusion?

Was it a teamwork themed trick? The baby Strange just had a hunch… he realized that his behavior was more reactive, and passive, and he was more or less behaving as a bystander to his brother's spell.

The real fight was with Hela, so the baby Strange released the hold that he had on Karnilla. Victor's cloak took him upward, and he just about reached the top when he received another ill-timed message from Clint Barton.

[ Victor, please ignore my last text. I didn't send that message to you. Yelena Belova sent it, and I don't want to talk to you anytime soon. ]

Victor legit gasped out loud, and his body came to a screeching halt mid flight. He couldn't believe the message that his mind picked up, and it hurt his baby soul to the core.

The first message made him feel almost elated, overjoyed, and relieved to know that his friendly ex had changed his tune. It seemed like the archer finally wanted to actually talk, and maybe work something out…

Now, apparently that wasn't the case, so Victor's heart pretty much snapped in two. That shit friggen hurt to the maxxxxxxxx and he completely lost track of what he was doing.

He didn't care about what was happening, and he thought to himself that he wasn't meant to be the Sorcerer Supreme. His brother and sister were totally crazy to think that he was…

Holy shit, it felt like his heart shot up toward his nose or something. The baby sorcerer processed that message again and he couldn't focus for shit.

He heard his brother Stephen, up ahead. His brother started saying something to him, and his voice was getting pretty loud. Victor couldn't hear any of that noise tho, cuz deep down he knew that his brother was playing tricks..

[ I'm so beyond sorry that I hurt you. I really didn't mean to, and I didn't know you were struggling at all. ]

Victor felt like shit. He told himself he was blind as a bat, fucking stupid, and his soul was definitely launched into a deep river of pain. His brother's voice was getting closer at that point, but Victor just ignored him and he roughly slapped his hands against his own face.

He covered his eyes so his brother couldn't see how bad it hurt, cuz that message was the last effing straw.

It beyond broke Victor's baby spirit, so now he couldn't move, hear, or do anything else…
