No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2
Chapter 37: The Power of Love (Part 7)

"I want you to be honest with me, and tell me what's going on…"

Steve Rogers wasn't DUMB, and he truly was a simple guy. He watched the person he lived with dodge him, and avoid something as basic as eye contact.

Tony was clearly avoiding him, and he kept alluding, and diverting the subject to something stupid, and trivial, like the food.

The blonde was really getting sick of it. First Bucky, now this? He absolutely hated it when people danced around something that needed to be handled and discussed… and Tony friggen knew that.

"Tony, why can't you just say it? Am I that hard to talk to?"

Steve wasn't sure what to think. He started thinking he was the problem, because not too long ago Tony told him that he was being very "unapproachable" with Ezekiel Stane.

They couldn't seem to have a basic conversation about anything either, so Steve Rogers felt confused, and maybe misunderstood? Tony looked at him in that moment, because the blonde got it all wrong…

Steve wasn't hard to talk to at all. That wasn't the reason why Tony didn't want to explain. He didn't want Steve knowing what was on his mind for a very specific reason, because the "man with the plan" would certainly shut his shit down…

Oh look, Steve got a text message. Saved by the bell? Tony watched him dig his cellphone out of the front pocket of his adorable jeans. Tony could also tell by the look on his face that the message was from Stephen Strange, so…

The forever noble Doctor-Wizard-Pizza-Supreme always did have perfect timing. Tony inwardly thought of that as Steve quickly composed a message back to the big Wiz. It took Steve a while to type it all out, cuz honestly he was beyond annoyed and confused.

There. Message sent. Steve looked up from his phone and he decided to announce what the message was about.

"Stephen says he wants to talk to me, about YOU… so, I guess I'll figure this all out one way or another…"

Honesty and openness, be damned? Steve held that thought as he studied Tony's reaction. He watched as a strong scowl slowly formed over his face. Tony didn't look happy to hear that Stephen wanted to discuss something about him.

Fucking, great. That's just perfect…

Tony glanced down at the suit he was working on, then he glanced in Steve's direction once again. With Stephen Strange in the mix, that meant the brunette's idea of fun was over and done with.

Call it a hunch, but Tony half expected the "former" Sorcerer Supreme to be onto his impulse to crush someone's soul hours ago…

"I don't want to tell you what's happening, because you'll try to talk me out of it. You and Stephen both… most likely."

Now Tony had the two of them to deal with, and that was … fine. It was a welcomed gesture, actually, because Tony's thoughts felt pretty dark. The Soul Stone asked him to feed it souls, from time to time…

Who gives a fuck if Ezekiel fucking Stane was the first person the Soul Stone was fed? Wait. Just kidding? Tony only wanted to fuck him up…

TCH. Whatever.

The fiesty brunette rudely scowled again. He rolled his eyes too and he friggen turned his back on Steve. The blonde didn't like that one bit, so he started typing up another message for Stephen….
