No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2
Chapter 38: The Power of Love (Part 8)
Clint Barton was back to being considered "friendly" by the forever adorable Victor Strange.
He wanted to work things out with him at some point, and everything seemed to line up perfectly after they met up in Japan. The baby bird liked the way he was dressed when they saw each other in line, and … well, you know how it all went.
They hooked up in the Airbnb, twice, and the archer didn't feel bad about it. Wade Wilson's uncanny level of chill kinda took over the vibe of the group, and everyone's nerves seemed to settle after a while.
I mean, the archer didn't want to murder Ezekiel Stane anymore. Did that mean they developed some sort of friendship or trustworthiness between them? Fuck no…
He didn't trust that guy for shit, or his crazy boyfriend, and "Agent" Barton felt a million times better after he got Victor farrrrrr away from their little psycho love shack.
No offense Wade and Ezekiel, but y'all are insane. The baby archer started thinking that maybe Victor was oblivious to how insane they actually were. Did he not see the signs?
Either way, they left Japan together… and Victor didn't seem devastated about it. Normally he was a friggen basket case if he had to leave Ezekiel's presence, or whatever.
They obviously still had a connection, and it always felt like a "first love" sort of thing… but now that connection didn't seem to hold the same weight. Barton was keeping tabs on stuff like that, because the baby bird wasn't into making the same mistakes twice.
He took Victor to his place in the Tribeca district of New York, and he gave him a tour of the space.
Something adorable happened while Victor was given the grand tour. It was just a simple phone call, but the archer asked him if it was okay if he answered.
Uhh, wull yeah. Victor gave a goofy smile. He had to shrug about it too, cuz he didn't see a problem with the archer answering his cellphone.
Barton didn't want to seem rude, and he really wanted to focus on Victor when they were spending time together. That's why he asked, so..
It was some news about HIS older brother, so Victor eavesdropped as best he could as he continued to look around. Ohhhh, so Nick Fury was telling his friendly boyfriend that his brother was about to be released from jail?
Jail? What the… Victor didn't know the guy was in jail. He knew the guy existed, but that was pretty much it. The archer only spoke about his brother a couple times back when they were dating.
Actually, he usually brought his brother up whenever Victor was fighting with Stephen. Apparently Clint Barton didn't get along with his older brother? Was that the case? Or, maybe there was some sort of disagreement between them? Victor didn't know the facts at all, so he kept tuning in.
…
"Yeah. I can head that way now, well, first let me check …"
…
The archer glanced in Victor's direction with an unsure look on his face. Was Victor up for another small excursion? It was pretty important.
…
"Victor, would you like to meet… my brother? He's leaving Seagate in a few minutes."
…
The archer really wanted to be there when his brother was released. It was important for him, and he wanted Bernard to know that he had his support, if he wanted it.
Victor's eyes shot open wide, then he gulped all loud at the thought. Did he want to meet his brother? Of course he did. Victor's anxiety picked up quick tho, but ultimately he wanted to meet him.
He made sure to give the baby archer a nod of approval before his friendly boyfriend got the wrong idea. Victor really wanted to go, and he asked where Seagate was located.
He could form a portal, remember? That shit was super useful, so the baby Strange made sure to announce that he had a shortcut for them to utilize.
