No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)
Chapter 82: Sunshine (Part 2)
Wade Wilson cooked up a strong argument straight out the gate, because there NO TIME for the Stalker Council to meet up and randomly vote on a bunch of bullshit…
He wanted to know what the eff was happening. Now. The mercenary even threatened to head over to, where? Transylvania? Steve Rogers said it out loud earlier… Truvalia? Wherever…
Deadpool was more than ready to effing leave and track down Ezekiel without them, but what's the point of doing that? Weren't they supposed to be a fucking team…
…
"It's called Latveria, Wade…"
…
Captain America was learning things as it progressed as well. He was annoyed with the situation, but they didn't even have a chance to hear what Tony had to say. They couldn't deliberate facts and form any solutions, because the mercenary's relentless behavior was off the charts.
He was clearly having an episode of separation anxiety, and Charles Xavier let Deadpool know that information, twice.
…
"Well, all three of you can suck shit. This isn't separation anxiety… I don't know what's going on, and I'm not going to let you deliberate this shit without me..."
…
Assholes. Wade turned his back to three members of the bullshit Surveillant Council. He was all huffed up, and he kept staring at an image of this, Victor Von Doom.
His "Doctor Doom" persona looked pretty cool, but Wade wasn't getting the connection that he had with Ezekiel. That information hadn't been clarified at that point, and the mercenary didn't plan to go anywhere until that shit was made clear…
Charles Xavier let out an exhausted sigh. He was beyond irritated with what happened, but the mutant was still convinced that his previous vote was the correct choice.
Now they had to contend with Ezekiel being in Victor Von Doom's presence, and the history of all that was back to haunt him.
…
"Doom truly does whatever he feels is in his best interest. If I were to describe his ultimate goal for you, it would be to secure more power for himself, BUT his powers are already considered limitless. He does have a strong code of honor, but it's mixed with a huge ego."
…
That ego and his thirst for power was precisely why Xavier was intentionally blocking out Ezekiel's memories of learning from him. The mutant planned to ease those memories back in, over time, but that plan unfortunately backfired.
Wade heard that shit, but he still had his back turned to Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, and Charles Fucking Xavier. His voice was loud when he spoke to them again, and they all knew he was angry…
…
"COOL. GOOD TO KNOW. What does that have to do with the person that's with him now?"
…
That's all Wade cared about. Everybody around him had a huge ego in some sense, just look at all the fancy Halloween costumes. The mercenary seriously rolled his eyes after he received an explanation about some dude named Doom….
…
"I thought Ezekiel was gathering information for Doctor Doom, but… now I believe he's the person who's been teaching him all his life. It makes sense, I mean… his father was intelligent. He was a chess champion too, but he didn't didn't know half as much about engineering, and he didn't know a million different languages…"
…
Ok. Starknado said something with some actual substance, and Wade felt like they were finally getting somewhere. The mercenary waited for some additional information to head his way, but then he started looking in Xavier's direction as time went on.
Could that bald bastard shed some light on Tony's wonderful discovery? Deadpool was expecting it. No, he was pretty much demanding to hear a confirmation or denial.
…
"Since you're the guy who's been digging around in his mind for years, can you confirm anything Tony said?"
…
Confirm the information provided, or deny it. That's allllll Wade wanted to hear. He wasn't interested in listening to anymore bullshit.
If the guy was Ezekiel's private tutor, or whatever, uhh… ok? Wade was a bit perplexed, and thoughts about Ezekiel potentially being "corrupted" plagued his mind once again.
Remember folks, back in the day some pretty basic shit was being "blocked" from Ezekiel's mind, all for the sake of him not being corrupted.
A whole mess of shit was being done to this young man for SOME FUCKING REASON, and Wade was getting pretty sick of all of it.
…
"The information Tony shared is correct. All of it. Ezekiel has inadvertently been gathering information for Doom all his life, but he's also been learning from him as well."
…
And, there we go. There you have it, and a super-weird feeling suddenly washed over Wade's body after the fact. Maybe a portion of the information struck a nerve or two, but overall an uneasy feeling took over Wade's mood.
…
"And now we go get him, correct? Isn't that what we're also deliberating…."
…
Uhh, that's where Tony kinda cringed. He snapped a quick look in Steve's direction, then he did his best to describe what happened in a delicate manner. Wade was already super pissed, so….
…
"I didn't get the vibe that Ezekiel's being held against his will. He sat down willingly after his restraints were removed, so…"
…
Yikes. Wade's demeanor was stiff and crude. He kept staring at Doom's image as Tony spoke, then his attention went back over toward the mutant freak-shrink. So….. what now? They just wait for Ezekiel to come back on his own? Yeah, fuck that….
…
"Well, I'm going there to talk to this dude, with or without any of you."
…
Wade brought his hand over toward a large map that Steve Rogers had cooked up on a screen. Apparently, "Latveria" was in Europe. Cool.
The mercenary started inwardly telling Sevgili about his plans to meet Ezekiel's math tutor, or whatever, and he didn't say jack shit about it to anyone else…
