No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor)
Chapter 92: End Game (Part 2)

James Buchanan, AKA "Bucky" Barnes finally unlocked the door to his apartment in Brooklyn for the first time in a long while.

He made arrangements to have everything cleared out, and that meant everything. It was all getting dragged off, cleared out, cleaned up, and the minimal contents that were inside the home were either going to be dumped or donated.

He didn't want any trace of Natasha "Romanov's" presence in his apartment at all, so he planned to clean house and start from scratch.

Donna Strange was going to be moving back in, and they were going to figure out how they wanted the space to look down the road.

There wasn't any rush, but James simply wanted everything currently within that space.. OUT. Bye Felicia…

The not-so-winter soldier didn't know the "Bye Felicia" reference at all, but you get the point. He also made plans that morning to grab some coffee with his best friend Steve. That hadn't happened in an eternity either, but boy did Steve look happy when he heard a knock at the door.

Tony watched him with an amused expression on his face. They were doing their usual routine that morning, but Tony stopped reviewing "Surveillant Council" matters just in time to see the look on Steve's face.

"Bucky" broke the news to him that he was actually getting married, eventually. The date, details, and all that jazz was pending. Naturally, Steve Rogers freaked out immediately, and Tony almost died when he watched him try to communicate through his joy and ask for details.

It was so beyond fucking cute, Tony truly could have died right then and there.

Bucky also informed him that he wanted to be called James. He said it was growing on him, and he didn't want to be associated with his "other" self at all.

Uh huh. Tony just gave the whole thing a warm and friendly smile, cuz truthfully speaking… he wanted nothing but the best for Steve's best bud.

He wanted nothing but good things to happen between him and Miss Donna Strange, so… the smaller brunette was inwardly happy for them.

Tony did take a moment to look at the newly reformed "James Buchanan" as he walked into the dining room that he shared with Steve.

So, all that stuff about the two broke boys from Brooklyn sharing their toys was swept under the rug? Tony seemed to recall the infamous "Bucky Barnes" wanting to include himself in their relationship, and fuck…

Anyway…Tony just let it all go. That was ancient history, remember? But, what would Donna Strange think?

Did he tell her? The smaller brunette thought about being a fuccckkkkiiinnnggh menace about it. I mean, he could haunt "James" for life, and really do some damage.

Tony Stark could singlehandedly butcher and RUIN BUCKY'S budding relationship before the two of them ever had the chance to say the words I DO.

But, Tony decided to take the mature approach. He even agreed to do the "favor" that James asked for. He asked Tony to add "fancy stuff" to Donna's ring, but he didn't want it too fancy.

The man started talking about the "family heirloom" and he explained what it meant for Donna. Then he started talking about what Tony made for Victor, the amulet around his neck, and he wanted all of it to be a full circle thing.

He said he wanted a "full circle thing" and Tony thought that was, cute. "Bucky" thought a lot about Donna, and he seemed very different in that moment as they casually spoke.

"I'd love to make her something, so I'll pick her brain about it when she comes back around…"

Tony spoke with ease, then he finished up the rest of his orange juice and took his dishes over to the sink.

He heard Donna was going to be at the Surveillant Council meeting, but for now she was wrapping something up with her younger brother.

Dear sweet Victor Strange was working through something once again, so everyone in the Strange family was sticking close. "James" wouldn't shut up about them, but that was fine.

He openly admitted that he still had to break the news to the "head honcho," meaning Donna's father, and he also said that Stephen still didn't know.

Oh, best believe Stephen Strange knew all about it. He probably knew that shit was going to happen months ago… so Tony maintained an easygoing smile.
