No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2
Chapter 58: Extra Dry, Extra Olives (Part 8)
The words "parallel parking" were still on Wade Wilson's mind as Steve Rogers brought out an adorable little notebook.
Oh, it was a sketch book. Wade had a million of those scattered around his place. He kinda wished he brought one of them along, because Steve started sketching something.
Oh whoa, Steve Rogers can draw? No way. Wade didn't know that about Captain sexy-pants, so he kept staring at his adorable hands.
…
"Now, again, according to Stephen Strange… we all have someone in our dimension that we coexist with, in a parallel aspect."
…
Steve drew two straight lines that were "parallel" and he quickly drew a little picture of Tony Stark's Iron Man suit. Wade continued to watch and listen to the gentle blonde, as if it were story time.
Awwwe, the infamous Deadpool let out a gleeful laugh, because he saw Steve illustrate a small picture of "Zephyr" too…just below the Iron Man drawing.
…
"That means our Creator has designed a counterpart to every living thing on this planet, including us humans and mutants. So, my point is… Stephen Strange strongly believes that Ezekiel Stane and Tony Stark exist as parallel extensions. One acts as an extension of the other…and it works out as some sort of counter balance…"
…
Did that make sense? Steve took a look at Wade's face just to make sure he was following along and understanding the message. Tony and Ezekiel were similar in so many ways, and yet, if you put the two of them side by side they looked nothing alike…
Steve found it beyond fascinating, and now he glanced up at the person who he believed was his parallel extension. In the scheme of things, Wade's background as a "disgraced" soldier made his theory check out even more.
They were extremely different in every possible way, yet so similar… it was scary. Steve went back to his drawing as the mercenary puzzled over what was said. I mean, he could see what Steve was saying… but his mind ran off on a tangent about Stephen Strange.
…
"Is this like, some sort of doppelganger shit? And if so… WHO IS STEPHEN'S parallel extension? And, who's mine? Does that mean we can cancel each other out or something?"
…
The whole counter balance part of the story made Wade believe it operated like a game. And, if it was like one big giant game of parallel parking, then WHO was the parallel extension of Doctor Victor Von Fuck-Face.
Ooh ohh ohhhhhh. Wade gasped out loud and he took another look at Steve. Whoa, the guy was really going somewhere with his super cool drawing. Wade liked the details he was adding to Starknado's tricked out suit.
…
"I can draw too, you know? And WAIT Stephen Strange is an actual doctor, correct?"
…
Doctor Strange, Doctor… Doom. OOH could those two parallel park and cancel one another out? Wade inwardly began forging his own theories, while Steve stopped drawing as soon as he heard what the mercenary said.
Yes. Steve was aware of Wade Wilson having the ability to draw. Knowing that information only strengthened the blonde's suspicions. He smiled at Wade, then he thought some more about Stephen Strange being a "real" doctor.
…
"Wade, I'm aware you can draw, and yes… Stephen is a real doctor. Why do you ask?"
…
Steve Rogers seemed very entertained. His smile was wide when he responded to the infamous mercenary, then he started studying the look on his face as he stood up from his seat.
OH, why did he ask? Ohohohohohoooo… Wade started thinking hard on the parallel extension thing, and his mind began to wander around the possibility of getting what he wanted accomplished by utilizing Stephen Strange.
…
"So, getting back to the point… after I found out about everyone having a parallel extension, I've been wondering who my counterpart could be… and… I believe that person is you, Wade."
…
Steve finally revealed the theory that he had been thinking about for a while, and the mercenary responded to what he heard in a number of ways. First he shrieked, then he gasped, then Wade slipped back down into his chair and he sat in complete disbelief.
..
"Me? … wait. You think.. I'm… you think I'm your parallel parker person? Your counterpart extension?"
…
Guhhhhhphhffff… Wade gasped louder than a dying cow once again, because his mind started going into overdrive about what Steve Rogers said about Tony Stark and Ezekiel Stane. So, he thought THOSE TWO were counterpart parallel twins too, or whatever, and NOW he said… that…
…
"Captain Rogers, Mr. Stark has provided a response to your message. Shall I relay the information?"
…
The voice of Jarvis cut in at an interesting time, because Wade Wilson seemed a bit frozen and baffled by what he heard. The mercenary couldn't see himself in the same boat as Steve Rogers, but what he said made his mind, body, and soul feel a ton of stuff.
I mean, what did it all mean? And Steve was waaaayyyy too clean cut, gentle, and sophisticated to be his counterpart. Wade's intrusive thoughts were going crazy about that, so he forgot all about the subtle back and forth going on between Tony and Steve.
The blonde asked to hear Tony's message, and the infamous Deadpool absentmindedly started staring at Steve's super clean clothes and his super cool drawing. His eyes stopped at the tiny picture of Zephyr too, and the thought of their recent argument began to cross Wade's busy mind…
…
"Mr. Stark wants you to look up in twenty minutes, and then they will join you."
…
Say what? Then, they, will join you? keyword they? Wade heard what the technology dude said back to Steve, then the mercenary started looking more toward the nearest window.
He said look UP in twenty? Uhh.. okay? Wade silently scratched at the back of his head again, then he started thinking more about the last thing he said to Ezekiel…
The thought of a reunion between them that soon was a little unexpected, so… the merc finally kept his thoughts to himself and he glanced up at Steve…
