Ezekiel Stane closed his eyes again shortly after Tony Stark made his comment and left the delicatessen, then the baby Jackal brought his hand up toward the left side of his forehead.
He touched the space where his "crown" was supposed to be located, but the device had disappeared within his tech. It seemed to have fused with Zephyr after he put it on…

Those thoughts subsided as soon as Ezekiel heard the sound of Wade's voice off in the distance. There was a great deal of pain beneath what the mercenary said to him, and the baby Jackal blamed himself for not following through with his plan.
He wanted to tell everyone about his relationship with Wade during the Surveillant Council meeting, but the quiet coyote failed to accomplish that.
Ezekiel also wanted to tell them all to leave him alone as well, but something distracted him from following through. Openly stating that he was "distracted" during the meeting was the reason why, and the somber Jackal hated the hypocrisy behind saying that out loud.
Wade was very distracting, but Ezekiel wanted that distraction more than anything. The baby Jackal realized a long time ago that he loved him, and he wanted… him around, all the time.

Now, look at this epic mess. What a roller coaster… The somber Jackal kept reflecting on the situation at hand, then he decided to remedy the issue in a number of ways. Talking to Victor Von Doom was one piece of the puzzle… but the ruler of Latveria had to wait.
Wade Wilson came first, so Ezekiel drew in a slow breath to calm his own nerves… then he walked out of the deli and followed after his covertly sensitive date.
The baby Jackal did his best to brush off what the infamous Deadpool admitted to everyone there in Brooklyn as he lashed out in a jealous rage, but the words hurt his mind, body, and soul to the max.
Wade was clearly pushing him away, and saying all that to spare himself from feeling some sort of familiar pain. Ezekiel was smart enough to know that… so he ignored what the mercenary told him and followed anyway.
Steve Rogers was still speaking to Wade, and it looked like the blonde managed to calm him down. Ezekiel was grateful for that, so he quietly approached his handsome date.
Tony Stark didn't say jack shit, as expected, but Ezekiel was grateful for his minimal effort and advice.

"I can tell you what happened, Wade, if you'll listen?"

Yeah, Tony Stark dropped a quote from Steve Rogers. Honesty is the best policy, and the baby Jackal caved into that notion quick. He absolutely had to tell the mercenary what happened just now, even if it would theoretically put him twenty steps back…
Wade Wilson heard Ezekiel's gentle voice. It broke through the bitter void in his head for a moment, and it kicked something into gear within his broken soul. The scene around them was mega crazy tho, like bananas in pajamas crazy…
Could he listen in that moment? Wade was under the impression that he was "stupid" and he already didn't listen for shit…
No, the mercenary's thoughts were pretty lethal. He wanted to take matters up with the man in the iron mask himself, and hear whatever the fuck Doctor Dick-Tip Von Cock-Sucker had to say to his face.
A bloodbath was in the works, and all Wade wanted to do was prepare himself for Doom's upcoming reckoning. You talkin shit chrome-dome, and messing with Shiny's precious head? Bring it the fuck on….
OH OH OHHHHHHH. Shit was gunna get mad ugly, so Wade started doing pushups right there on the sidewalk. He heard Ezekiel's precious voice, but the merc couldn't respond to him in that particular moment. He had a skull to crush, so…

"You two can talk this out at our place. Steve and I live… right there."

Tony's voice broke the silence, and Wade snapped a look up in the direction he stood. The brunette was pointing up toward a tall apartment complex, and Wade loudly gasped at the thought of being invited to Tony and Steve's little love shack.

Ezekiel knew where they lived… and… truthfully speaking… it was a bit awkward for him to suddenly be invited there, especially by Tony Stark.
The Jackal also noticed the excited look on Wade's face tho… and his handsome date seemed more open to discussing something after that invite was generously announced…
So, perhaps Tony and Steve's apartment complex would serve to be a space for them to find some common ground.
Ezekiel was inwardly hoping for that, so he took the hit and reluctantly agreed to join them…
