No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2

Chapter 76: Battleworld (Part 6)

Okay okay, onward we go people...

We have a lot of ground to cover before this endeavor finally reaches its conclusion. The person bringing us into the brickwork of the final act is Victor Strange. He was there on Latverion with his family, remember?

The baby Strange was surprised to see how many people started showing up to this "Battleworld"… thing.

Holy moly.

Victor truly didn't know what to think. He texted his friendly bird-boy boyfriend a number of times, and he sent him pictures of what was happening when the time was right.

He took note of what was happening too, and he mainly navigated around the terrain with his brother, his niece, and his sister-in-law Clea.

There were so many interesting looking people. Some of them seemed like space monsters, or freaky looking creatures from some black lagoon.

It was also giving him some Stark Trek convention vibes as well, but the baby Strange didn't mention that to anyone.

Nah… Victor just took it all in. He did freak out when he saw someone familiar tho, and guess who he happened to see first…

Victor saw Steve Rogers and Tony Stark… OMG STEEEEVEEEE. OMG TONYYYYY. He was a big fan and he missed seeing the two of them.

They were way off by some cool looking creature, so the baby Strange kinda frowned. That creature was green from head to toe, and Steve was speaking to him as if they were familiar.

Ohhh… Victor was recalling something from his research back at home, but he looked over at his brother just to confirm.

Stephen Strange seemed to know Victor's question before it ever left his lips. The older brother silenced his thought about who it was straight off the gate, and he confirmed the identity of the person Steve Rogers was speaking to.

"His name is Bruce Banner, but you're currently seeing the Hulk."

Oh. LOL. Thanks bro. Victor almost laughed at how precise his older brother could friggen be, but he didn't.

No, Victor's eyes took a sharp left, because his energy reading was currently off the charts. Whoaaaaa, some powerful individuals were floating around that space…. and a majority them looked mean as fuhhhhkkk.

One lady's energy felt dark, and dreadful. Victor didn't recognize her, but she approached his sister-in-law and randomly said hello.

UHHH wait, what? Victor's baby eyes snapped straight toward the chat. He felt protective of Clea AND Sofia. There were personal matters tagging along with his his protective behavior, but that was none of anybody's friggen business.

The woman identified herself as …Wanda. Wanda Maximoff. Wait, the Scarlet Witch.

Victor had been looking into how she studied ancient spells, within something called the Darkhold. Dark magic was no friggen joke. Stephen fucked with it to keep everyone alive, and he technically lost Sofia for five years as his punishment.

Clea was also indirectly punished as a result, and that's why Victor felt extra protective.

"I was hoping you'd be here, participating in the festivities on some level. Would you join as my opponent?"

Maximoff ignored Stephen Strange entirely. She was only focusing on Clea, and that seemed a little weird. Regardless of Wanda's random focus… the ruler of the Dark Dimension gave her a charmed smile.

Clea Strange had no interest in participating in Doom's ego fest, but still… the notion of being Wanda's opponent was welcomed. Clea's reign was challenged all the time.

She gave her husband a brief glance before she responded to the Scarlet Witch. She kept a gentle hold of her daughter's hand as well, just in case something wicked were to take place.

"I'm not here to participate. I'm here to support my husband, and my brother-in-law."

That's all. Clea smiled again, and she noticed how disappointed Mrs. Maximoff seemed to look after the fact. Clea's heart was pretty much set on being Stephen's wife.

An experience relating to Sofia was taken from her as well, and Clea felt robbed of becoming a mother.

That was none of Wanda Maximoff's business for sure, so Clea kept her response brief and to the point. She didn't have "friends" either… so, no thanks.

The former Sorcerer Supreme decided to cut in, and he politely explained that Victor Von Doom had asked him to "host" the event. He even introduced Victor to the Scarlet Witch as the incoming Sorcerer Supreme, but her interest in the conversation seemed to drift off in another direction.

Sofia Strange was looking up at the woman that everyone called the Scarlet Witch, and she studied the expressions on her face the entire time.

Her heart seemed dark, broken, and in a great deal of pain. Her soul also seemed encased in dirt, as if she'd been buried in some dark hole.

Sofia could feel that she envied her mother. She harbored evil thoughts towards her as well, so Sofia tightened the grip on her mother's hand.

"Doctor Doom is looking for us, father. He's heading this way."

Sofia pointed in the direction where Victor Von Doom was headed. Stephen's eyes snapped in his daughter's direction immediately, then he politely spoke on everyone's behalf.

He gave Wanda Maximoff a cordial goodbye, then he led his family off in Doom's direction.

They were in one hell of a mix for sure. Stephen's guard was waaaaaayyyy way up around his wife and daughter, because mingling around with Victor Von Doom was no different than having a random chat with the Scarlet Witch.
