Ezekiel Stane was staring down at the pit, then suddenly his attention was almost pulled toward his left. Vanessa Carlysle was one of Wade Wilson's ex girlfriends… or wives.
She spoke to Ezekiel, and she inadvertently tried to get him to clarify who he actually was.
He wasn't Rae-Ann or "Robo Cop" in any sense, but he understood why the woman was hunting for information that was a bit more solid. Wade was very careful about keeping Ezekiel's identity a secret, and the baby Jackal remembered all the confusion he caused at Sister Margaret's.
One minute he was himself, then he randomly returned as Rae-Ann… Wade always just went with it, and…

The baby Jackal took a step toward the pit, and he completely ignored Vanessa Carlysle and her probing comment. Ezekiel was known to be a bit shrewd, on top of being labeled smug, moody, deranged, and arrogant.
He agreed with all of those labels, actually, and he wasn't going to acknowledge her presence or speak to her at all.
Wade's former flame definitely got the hint… She made a salty comment about being brushed off, but the Jackal ignored it entirely.
Instead of acknowledging her, he brought his hand up toward Zephyr's faceplate. Ezekiel started making some countermeasures to protect Wade against Doom.
Sevgili was already activated, thankfully, but the armor was technically dormant until Wade told it to behave differently.
Ezekiel quickly altered those settings, and he silently instructed his technology to operate in a mode that would protect its host. The baby Jackal started breathing at a quicker pace as well… because he saw how Victor Von Doom intentionally looked in his direction.
It felt like Doom looked right in his soul, and the gesture was obviously an unspoken warning.
The ruler of Latveria was either going to kill Wade, or… he was going to do something that was bound to cause a lot of damage.
Ezekiel didn't panic at first, but eventually his mind, body, and soul panicked up to the max. He did what he could to somehow preserve Wade and prevent the worst.
Ezekiel didn't realize it, but his heart was pounding faster than it ever had…

It physically hurt too, let's just say that. His nerves were shot, and he couldn't shake the fact that it was getting hard for him to actually breathe.
At first he was breathing normally, but after Doom and Deadpool's lovely conversation … his body started going berserk.
Speaking of berserk, the mercenary snapped a glare in Doom's direction when he turned his chrome-dome head and looked in Ezekiel's direction.
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU LOOKING AT HIM? Wade wanted to ask that question, but he bit his tongue and took a deep breath.
In his EXPERT opinion, Victor Von Fuck-Face didn't deserve to look at Ezekiel Stane at all. That creep-tastic teacher's pet buuuullllshit was over rover.
Oh, and Wade's possessive nature took over too, but he kept his cool and mapped out his first attack.
The mercenary was going for the jugular for sure, but he took a second to breathe and kindaaaa take in what was actually happening.
I mean, he looked into Doctor COCK-SOCK'S powers and abilities decades ago, so Wade understood that this ego-trip could amount to sudden death.
No pressure now, and there's no crying in baseball. Wade gave himself a little mantra to make it all feel better… then he started randomly jumping in place. Jumping in place felt right in that moment, cuz some reality was beginning to creep into… the … scenario.
That baby juggernaut FUCKER took about ten steps in Wade's direction, then the mercenary found himself suddenly dodging those metal fists.
Doom was faster than he looked, and that chrome-dome grill was all up in his shit. Wade blocked one, two, three hits, then he jumped backward and he started inspecting that FUCKING MASK.

The space around his eyes were one of the sweet spots. That's where Wade planned to stick a knife, but… AH!
The mercenary gracefully dodged and leapt backward again, cuz he planned to take the smart approach to their duel… mmmkay?
