No-One But You (The Zephyr Endeavor) - Part 2

Chapter 86: Dirthouse (Part 6)

Well folks, seems like some guy named Weasel got super rich off of that fight between Wade Wilson and Doctor Doom.

Deadpool was officially handed his own ASS on a metal platter, and some say Weasel sold out and SOLD the fucking bar too… so Sister Margaret's was eventually going to be run by someone else.

That's kinda gross, and that slimy FUCKER took off to Bermuda with the cash too, but best believe his "bestie" was gunna hunt his ass down at some point in the distant future.

Wade Wilson had a little bit of catching up to do after Doctor Cock-Sock's random blast, but thankfully he had a sassy little ally behind the scenes that you might not have expected.

Oh, Wade always had a lil fireball on his side of the boxing ring, and that ally had repeatedly been voting in his favor, snooping out info, and doing a bunch of NERD WORK on his sexy body behind the scenes the entire time.

From the very beginning of this EPIC endeavor, good ol' Tony Stark had always been on Wade Wilson's side. Yeah, Starknado had done his homework on some shit decades ago.

It felt like DECADES, seriously, cuz his salty chats with Wade went back… how many storylines?

Did their chats date back to the storyline called Lessons in Love? Yes? No?… wait a minute… NO… Wade recalled the details on that and he reminded himself that he didn't enter the storyline until the grand finale of the story called the Promise Of Tomorrow (Part 2).

Oh yeah, that's when shit got bananas as fuck, and fun.

ANYWAY… We're not going to dive into how Wade actually survived being obliterated by Doom's energy at this point.

We still have something important to address about someone who's kinda the main focus of this story.

Ezekiel Stane IS the star player here, not Tony Stark, not Steve Rogers, Stephen Strange, Victor Von Fuck-Face, or even Charles Xavier. Nope. Those big-wigs were only there to SUPPORT a young fellow who's currently having a hard time.

Ezekiel was still insistent on having Zephyr run additional scans. He migrated up and into the "blast zone" of Doom's attack, remember?

The heavy breathing and anxiety he was experiencing started doing something to his soul too, and let's just say a river of emotions kept pouring in.

The baby Jackal avoided those emotions like the plague. He pushed them away whenever he could, asked his Surveillant Council to suppress them, and there were times when he FLAT OUT ignored them at every turn.

So, while Ezekiel hunted around for any sign Wade Wilson might be alive… he began to reflect on something that he wanted to say to his precious protector, back in the day.

They were in Nebraska at the beginning of this story, and that's precisely where Ezekiel's "delicate" mind looked back and wandered.

He kinda learned what a "dive bar" was, and thanks to Wade he experienced a song called "Unchained Melody" for the very first time.

The mercenary helped a sad old man sing that song to his late wife. She died of cancer. Ezekiel remembered how the old man explained his story, and he watched how he opened himself up to Wade.

It was… such an interesting moment, and Ezekiel fought as hard as he could to keep his emotions from flooding in.

He had to step out just before the song ended, because he found himself looking at Wade for far too long. Ezekiel figured out how much trouble he was in right there in Nebraska, and from that moment on every second spent was a friggen struggle.

You don't know this, because the story cut off… but Ezekiel stepped outside, ALONE, into the cool night air and he FREAKED THE FUCK OUT.

Shit changed for him, for sure, and it really freaked him out. He kept thinking the words…I actually love this person, over and over, and that shit wouldn't quit.

It hurt his baby soul to the max as well, so he absolutely HAD to step out of the equation and walk away from it. Looking back now, his Surveillant Council did what was best.

They helped him navigate everything at a much slower pace, because all that warm and fuzzy love-stuff that naturally stems from Wade Wilson was beyond intense.

Ezekiel had a hard time breathing in Nebraska, but thankfully, his Council took note of that and they helped him through.

That meant… avoiding Wade. Ezekiel barely looked at him when he returned to the bar, and he remembered how he barely spoke to him while they were in Nebraska.

Victor Strange did the talking for him, and that helped. It was so hard, even thinking back and remembering the details was a challenge.

Wade was way more patient than you'd think, and Ezekiel didn't realize how hard it was for him to navigate all that as well.

Looking back, Ezekiel could see that the merc acted unaffected, and cool with it, but his face didn't lie at all…

Oh man… the baby Jackal concluded that he was in a terrible mess, for sure. He never truly followed through with what he felt, and that's why he told Zephyr to continue searching.

Wade Wilson CAN'T DIE, right? He's not supposed to, so Ezekiel carried on and continued his search. There were things that he needed to tell him, and all of that other shit simply ceased to exist.

DOOM didn't matter, the Surveillant Council DIDN'T MATTER… S.H.A.D.O.W. didn't even matter anymore… neither did Victor Strange, his brother Stephen, Charles Xavier… Tony Stark…and even Steve.

Ezekiel could hear them out there, but their voices seemed like they were in a tunnel. They weren't going to get through to him, and Ezekiel intentionally pushed their presence back…

He wanted all of them to stay away from him until Zephyr gave him the correct information about Wade. The whole crew could kindly fuck off too…together as a unit in some silent void.
