No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2
Chapter 1: The Tiger Striped Cat (Part 1)
From where Tony was standing, Steve was walking up the steps on his left. The summer boy seemed a little down. Moody perhaps.
Tony kept looking at him. Steve stopped halfway up a large set of steps, because he could see the floor of the massive stage at that point. The blonde also stopped walking because he started looking at Tony.
Steve had diamond eyes. Tony told him that a couple times, but they seemed a bit more prominent in that moment.
It looked like he had been crying, or maybe he was holding it in. Tony thought about it for a sec, then he walked over in Steve's direction.
"Were you already told?"
Tony asked Steve the first question that came to his mind. Something happened out there in the wild, outside their dimension.
It related to something back when they first met, and an older version of himself. Not to be vague, but …
"Yes. I found out on my way back from the S.H.I.E.L.D. base."
Steve really seemed down as he looked up at Tony. His eyes settled on his clothes. The Tony Stark that belonged there on Earth dimension 3000-21 was still alive and well.
Steve was looking at him in that moment. Another version of him had lost his life. They knew him from long ago. Tony always called that version of himself a fierce warrior, now he was gone.
"I felt it. He helped me with this suit, so I've always been keeping tabs."
Tony's voice was calm. He seemed pretty mellow, but Steve could see some pain in his face. It was in the eyes. Tony couldn't lie about anything, or hide those.
Steve Rogers learned nurturing habits from his mother Sarah. He had a kind heart, so of course he wanted to stop everything and just take Tony home.
Tony's habits were more…
He was more like his father. Steve recognized Howard a bit more when Tony had to deal with something serious. His focus was more on where he was in the moment and he was also very stubborn.
"Thank you for being here."
Tony had to thank him. He never asked Steve to protect him, or to give a shit. Things just worked out that way, so.
"You're welcome."
Steve slowly swallowed. The blonde gave a small nod as well, then he started looking at Tony's clothes again. He was wearing black pants with expensive shoes. The pants were kind of tight.
Tony was also wearing a black vest and cool sunglasses, but that was pretty much it. He always looked flashy and confident. Tony had his chest and stomach showing as well. Show off.
Steve focused on his chest for a moment. He was the only one that didn't have a scar. The Tony Stark that existed in Earth dimension 3000-21 never had to have an Arc Reactor implanted in his chest cavity to save his life…
Steve was proud of that.
