Joshua and Stain, two of Dracula's most loyal men, both who owed the man their very lives and the loyalty they showed to him would rival even the most loyal hound.
On the surface, Joshua was seen as the dutiful butler, bodyguard, and to the young master Midoriya, a big brother figure who was always there for the young master to the point of being there for him even in his darkest moments whenever he would have an episode of depression.
Stain was also seen as a proper worker, many would consider the man another bodyguard who was by Dracula's side whenever he was out in public or helping the boss whenever he needed work done with D.S.I. Be on the docks or at the many offices and businesses, and to Midoriya he was an honorary uncle who made him laugh or make sure he stayed on the straight and narrow as a proper hero. Even going as far as to help him with the homeless and the humble masses who lost their jobs and homes due to the crass caused by the ban on European spirits out of central Asia.
Yet that was only their public faces, their real faces, their true faces that they did their best to hide from the young master and honorary nephew and little brother was anything but clean.
A body collided with a table before rolling over onto the floor. The man looked up in fear at the two that glared at him. "Mr. Serizawa. You're not paying attention to our conversation." Joshua said in a disapproving tone.
"Do we need to clean your ears out? I'm sure one of my tools will get the job done." Stain said as he pulled out a Bowie knife that was serrated.
The dog man shook as he said with a stammer of a clearly scared voice, "I swear I'll have the money! I just need more time!"
Joshua shook his head as he cleaned his glasses,"You had well over two months to pay back the money we loaned you to put on and I quote, 'a sure fire winning bet' and when the horse you betted on lost, you lost my employer."
Stain hissed, "The Boss!"
"Over ten thousand with interest, which means that Mr. Tepes is out fifteen thousand yen for which you have failed to payback within the time for which his kindness has granted you." Joshua stated as he slowly put his glasses back on before adjusting them slightly. "This trivial matter would be below us if not for the fact..."
Stain now brought his bowie knife close to the man's throat, "You tried to run and snitch to the feds." Shaking his head slightly he added, "And that just won't do."
"Please! Please don't kill me!" The dog man cried out.
"We should kill you, after all. Our boss doesn't like loose ends." Stain said with a snarl.
"However, fifteen thousand yen is not something our employer will be able to recover instantly. Therefore, we have no choice but to enlist your services in a... Less than respectable manner in order to make back that money." Joshua said while tugging on his leather gloves.
Serizawa whimpered as he nodded against Stain's blade. "Anything! Anything! Just please for the love of Kami, don't kill me! I'll get the money! I'll get the money!"
Joshua stared at the man, right into his eyes, straight into the man's soul, "Oh you will get my employer his money. By working it off. Bit by bit."
"The only question is, what job will you take? Underground fighting? Or prostitution?" Stain asked, giving him options for what will help him pay off the debt.
The man looked at the two before he replied, "I'll be a whore."
That got a dark chuckle out of Stain as he said with a dangerous grin, "Welcome to the Fight Club, newbie." They always go with being a whore. All of these guys do, but it was always a fake option as Dracula wanted people who tried to spit on his generosity to pay in blood one way or another.
A group of men in suits came into the house and grabbed the dogman before dragging him out. Stain and Joshua walked out of the house. Stain grabbed a cigarette and lit it up before taking a drag of it. "Another failure of our boss's generosity." Stain commented as he blew the smoke out.
Joshua nodded as he adjusted his glasses "Indeed a shame." Pulling out his pocket watch he stated, "We are to pick up Izuku from school in the next hour so we should move on with the next job."
Stain looked at the young man before looking at his own wrist watch as he groaned, "Man, it's really that close to that time? Guess I can't get bloody, considering that I can only use the cover of working at the meat plant so many times."
"Indeed." Joshua said before the two made their way into the car with Joshua driving.
Stain looked out at the town as they drove, "How's the kid ? Been so busy, I haven't had time to check in."
Joshua sighed gently, "His anxiety attacks have lessened but he still suffers from episodes of depression and self doubt."
That got Stain's attention as he looked at the man, "Still? I thought the shrink was supposed to help with that."
Stain sighed as he ran a hand down his face, "Kids' got the heart of a hero and I hate how he has to go through that kinda shit."
Joshua nodded, "Izuku will prevail, he is a smart young man and is indeed a good person who thinks of others before himself."
"Yeah... But even he needs to focus on himself from time to time." Stain said somberly. Joshua didn't say anything, but he agreed with his partner as they continued their drive towards U.A Academy.
Once they arrived, they waited as Stain got out so he could smoke as he waited, of course they're arrival didn't go without being noticed as students exited U.A. each mumbled, pointed, and just talked at the two men in suits. Stain didn't care because all he saw were fakes. They weren't Izuku or that girl who hung around him, or hell even the other girl who could make things float.
In his eyes, all these kids had it easy, never once did they have to lift a finger for anything or fight to get where he, Joshua, their boss or even Izuku got to.
Soon enough, Izuku came out. He was surrounded by several other students. A girl with pink skin, yellow eyes, and black scleras. A boy with spiky red hair and shark-like teeth. Ochaco Ururaka, Momo Yaoyorozu, as well as a tall boy with blue hair and glasses.
Joshua had to keep his professional look up, but he wanted to smile, seeing Izuku surrounded by kids that seemed to enjoy his company. And from what Stain and Joshua could also see, Izuku was enjoying their company as well. Izuku soon stopped as he saw the two and exclaimed with a large smile, "Uncle! What are you doing here? I thought you had work."
"We got out early so we figured we'd come pick you up. Mind introducing us to your friends?" Stain asked.
"Oh! Yeah! You already know Momo and Uraraka, but this is Ejiro Kirishima." Izuku pointed to the redhead who waved at them.
"Hey there!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"Mina Ashido." Midoriya pointed to the pink girl.
"Hello! You guys look so cool!" Mina said.
"And Tenya Iida." Izuku pointed to the boy with glasses.
"It is an honor to meet you!" Iida said before bowing from the waist up in a perfect 90 degree angle.
Stain chuckled as he waved his hand, "None of that, I actually work for a living." Izuku laughed a bit as he hugged Stain before he looked at them, "Hey this might be sudden but uh… would it be cool if I invite them to hangout?"
Stain smiled as he rubbed Izuku's fluffy broccoli hair, "Look at you! Already making connections at a young age! You really are the boss's son."
"Hmm, I don't see why not. There is enough space for everyone inside the car. Be sure to notify your father ahead of time." Joshua said before opening the door for everyone. Izuku blushed as he fished out his phone to call his father.
The King of Vampires himself was at one of his warehouses as a man was sitting in a chair, bloodied and bruised with other thugs around as Dracula had his sleeves rolled up. He took off the brass knuckles and set them on the table as he slowly caressed a baseball bat that was wrapped in barbed wire. "You know, I'm a kind man. I'm even a generous man. I let people work in my territory under three simple rules. 1. You respect my authority. 2. You give me my cut, a simple five percent. 3. And this is the most important one." He grabbed the bat and used it to slowly lift the man's chin with it. "No drugs." Dracula finished with a growl, his eyes glowing bright red.
The man seemed to shake as he cried out, "I swear, sir! They aren't mine! That cocaine wasn't mine!"
"Then give me the name of the dealer." Dracula growled with his eyes glowing bright.
"I-it was-" The man began to say before a phone started to ring. The men surrounding Dracula fished their phones out to see if it was theirs. When it wasn't, Dracula fished his phone out and saw that it was his son. "Keep him silent. I want not a sound out of him." Dracula ordered one of his employees to put a gag over his mouth.
Dracula walked out and took a deep breath to calm himself before answering the phone. "Hello son, how're you doing?"
"Hey dad, is it ok if I have some friends over at the house?"
Dracula smiled, "Of course, you know those two girls are welcomed."
Izuku was silent before he admitted, "It's not just them, it's also some kids from my class I made friends with." Dracula's undead heart almost skipped a beat when he heard his son say he had more friends.
"I'm proud of you son. Your new friends will be welcome as well. You'll have to introduce me once I get back home. Listen son, I must get back to work, unfortunately. But I'll be home soon." Dracula said.
"Yeah no problem dad. I love you." Izuku said.
Dracula smiled as he said, "I love you too, son. Have fun." He hung up and began walking back inside the warehouse. "Now, where were we?" He asked, his smile became less warm, and more bloodthirsty as he walked towards the tortured man.
The man whimpered and as soon as the gag was removed, he exclaimed, "It was the Triads! It was the Chinese who sold me the cocaine! Please don't kill me!"
"And why should I believe you that the Chinese sold it to you?" Dracula asked as he placed the edge of the bat on his shoulder.
The man shook heavily in fear, "The man who sold me the drugs was a man named Chin! He said he was with the Chinese! They want to open up markets here in Japan because of the ban!"
"Where is Chin located?" Dracula raised the bat, prepared to hit the man hard.
The man screamed out, "Chinatown at a laundromat in Shinjuku! He's in Shinjuku I swear!"
Dracula lowered the bat as he nodded, "Be happy I'm in a good mood."
Turning around, he left, leaving the man to ask, "You'll… You'll let me go?"
That got a dark chuckle from Dracula. "Of course I will let you go." Dracula said before one of his henchmen pulled out a pistol and shot the man in the head. "Clean this up, dump him in the incinerator, and go home. Well done gentlemen." Dracula ordered them before going to wash his hands. The Godfather was always careful. To ensure there were no loose ends, and that there were no stains on his clothing.
Later on, Dracula was in a limo that was on a direct path to his home. Along the way he couldn't help but smile, "Izuku made more friends, I'm so proud he's growing." He said to himself feeling as if nothing could ruin his mood.
Now the more cynical would believe that something wrong could happen, as if Murphy was going to show his head at any moment, but for the man who was of both light and dark, it didn't matter.
He had to believe that good would happen from his son gaining friends. He was a little excited to meet the new friends, but his little paranoid side had to make sure to do background checks on them all, except for Momo and Ochaco. He knew all he had to know about them and welcomed them as part of the family.
The limo parked in front of the entrance to the house and the driver opened up the limo door for Dracula to exit. He went inside and a butler bowed slightly. "Greetings, Master. Master Izuku is in the dining room with his guests." He announced.
"Thank you, Sebastian. Anything else I should be notified about?" Dracula asked.
"Master Joshua and Master Stain have news from their work to report at your convenience." Sebastian reported.
Dracula nodded, "Thank you, please bring me some tea." The butler in his black tailcoat suit bowed before leaving, heading towards where his son was he smiled as he could hear laughter.
"Wait, wait, wait, this guy who legit KOed the big bad bot in such a manly style was really a late bloomer!? Dude, you're super loaded and could have anything and you wanted to be a hero!? Even with a late quirk!? THAT'S SO MANLY!"
The doors opened and everyone turned to see him. Everyone except for Izuku and Momo became intimidated by the sheer size, and mannerisms he held. "And I can assure that that sort of action will never happen again, isn't that correct son?" Dracula asked as he looked at Izuku who laughed nervously.
"Y-yes dad. It won't happen again." Izuku said with a scratch to the back of his head.
Stain nodded, "Better not, all that training to teach you how to dodge would go to waste."
Joshua joined in, "And the young master's loyal companion would worry and whimper."
The newcomers all asked in unison, "Companion?"
That's when Izuku's dog, Artaois, walked in and barked as he ran up to Izuku. "Oh hey buddy. Oh I missed you too." He laughed a little as the big dog licked Izuku's face.
Ochaco and Mina gasped and squealed as they ran up to the dog. "HE'S SO FLUFFY!!" They squealed and started scratching and rubbing all over the dog to show it love.
"Holy crap! That's a big dog! Is that a freaking wolf you've got!?" Kirishima exclaimed.
The girl of pink and gossip exclaimed "that is not a dog! That's a bear! Oh and he's such a fluffy bear! Oh yes you are!" She squealed and made baby noises as she pet the big fluffy dog
Izuku laughs "No, no he's a Caucasian Mountain Shepherd. He was a gift from my aunt Striga."
Iida shot up as he asked with shock, "Defense Minister Striga Zukov of the Russian Republic!?"
"Yeah. She's my aunt, not really blood related, but she's good friends with my dad." Izuku explained to Iida before looking at Kirishima. "Fun fact, Mountain Shepherds were actually bred to fight bears."
Iida and Kirishima's eyes widened at both news. "THAT'S FREAKING MANLY!!" Kirishima exclaimed loudly.
Izuku nodded as Artaois barked happily with his tail wagging from all the loves and head pats. Iida however spoke to Izuku with a smile, "Still it is very humbling to see two of our classmates who come from such wealthy backgrounds to want to be heroes even if they could have had easier lives than others. It shows that both of you are truly good people."
Momo and Izuku blushed a bit as Izuku chuckled in embarrassment, "Well… I uh… Thanks." He said with a smile which made his family smile.
Dracula chuckled before looking towards Izuku. "Well I will not keep you, son. Have fun. Just try not to knock over any furniture or antiques."
Izuku nodded, "Sure thing Dad!"
Dracula had a small smile on his face before walking away with Stain and Joshua in tow.
"Dude, your dad's awesome!" Kirishima said.
Izuku nodded as he watched his father leave with a smile that never left his face. "Yeah, he really is. He's my hero."
Of course Izuku would never know the darkness which lay deep within his family, nor with his father, his uncle, or his brother in all but blood ever let a soul as pure as his ever see it yet they would prepare for when the time comes.
Sadly, darkness will always be their business as Joshua was giving his usual reports on the collection of protection money, their smuggling operations, but the real meat was of the 'blood bullets' as they have been dubbed by the inner circle. "I have reached out to my contacts and so far what we have is that the head of the currently struggling Yakuza has a daughter yet she is not in the system, nothing at all, sir."
Stain nodded as he added, "Yeah it's like she's a ghost, however what one of my guys did get was that she never leaves their compound and when she does they move her in convoys under heavy guard and I'm talking guards armed with military grade guns and inner circle muscle."
Dracula had his hands intertwined and hummed. "A daughter. Is it possible that her quirk is what is inside these bullets?"
"This all smells like bad news to me, boss. Something tells me this kid ain't doing it of her own volition." Stain commented.
"While I would make my assessment with more evidence, I too have a bad feeling about this." Joshua said.
"Dig deeper, find out exactly what is special about this daughter. And while we are at it, I'd like some background checks done on Izuku's new friends." Dracula ordered.
"Yes sir." Stain and Joshua said in unison with a bow of their heads.
Is it considered paranoid for a father to do background checks on his own child's school friends? Yes. Does he believe they are just using his son because of his status, his station in life, and the fact he is the son of a very wealthy man. Maybe. But Dracula does not deal in maybes and he will never want to see his children ever be used or him come crying into his arms because his 'friends' were not friends of his sons in the first place.
So yes he was paranoid, but he was paranoid because he wanted to protect his son from being hurt by those he considered friends.
But he wanted to hold out hope that they truly wanted to be his friend. But he didn't get this far by purely believing in everyone he met. He had background checks made on everyone in his territory. Every single civilian and every hero in Japan and those of his allies. He would not accept any loose ends, or any variable that ended in his family being harmed or his empire crumbling.
The only person that could possibly challenge him was that damned Chimera, Nezu. The only thing stopping him from sending heroes on his front door, was that he enjoyed the intellectual challenges Dracula gave him.
Of course that didn't stop him from still loving his family and friends he considers family, including his first born son which he saw on the front page of the newspaper at a political rally with the newly formed 'Japan First!' Party which before was called the Hearts and Minds party, but after the import ban, the 2nd economic bubble pop, loss of jobs, riots, all lead to the party changing to that of a weird mixture of those for whom were like that of Teddy Roosevelt's Bull Moose Party with a hint of Pro-Capitalist.
It made him chuckle a bit at how history always seemed to find ways to insert its lovely little jokes.
"The government has shown their intentions by this import ban which has caused nothing but economic strife amongst the people. They do not care about their people, they only care about trying to bankrupt a good business that gave hundreds of jobs to those that were thrown away by society. These Traditionalists are spreading poison throughout their very own country and it is up to the people and our party to provide the cure."
A quote from Adrian spoke on the front page of the newspaper.
Dracula couldn't help but chuckle as he said to no one, looking at the image of his son, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." Leaning back in his large chair he smiled with a small laugh leaving his lips, "Eat your heart out, Kennedy."
Back over with Izuku, he was giving everyone a quick tour of the house. "This house was actually built about 160 years ago by my father back when the discovery of a sub species of mutant quirks was discovered." He explained.
"I remember reading about that. Is your father considered the first of this 'vampire quirk'?" Iida asked.
"Yes, actually. It doesn't help that he's actually related to an old Romanian ruler, Vlad Tepes III." Izuku chuckled a little at the irony.
Those who didn't know their history asked, "Who?"
Momo just sighed as did Iida who was now in full robot mode as he was chopping the air, "Vlad Tepes the Third! Vlad the Impaler! The man who ruled his nation as a king!"
They then looked towards the only 'normal' girl who was Uraraka who also sighed as she simply said, "The guy they based Count Dracula on, the vampire from the pre-quirk era."
"Oooooh!" Mina and Kirishima both said in unison as they understood now. Even Artaois let out a huff as if he was laughing at the two.
Momo just shook her head as the tour continued until they reached the rec area which not only had a tennis court, basketball court, but also a rather large swimming pool with a hot tub attached. "DUDE HOW RICH ARE YOU!?" Shouted Kirishima and Mina.
Momo and Izuku just looked at each other before he said, "It's not that big…"
"Not that big!? Dude, it's almost the size of a football stadium! It's enormous!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"I could almost see myself working on my breakdancing here!" Mina's eyes sparkled. "How often do you work out or swim here?"
"Oh um, only a couple days. I usually just study or work on my quirk." Izuku said with a scratch on his head.
Suddenly, a wild Joshua appeared behind Kirishima and Mina which caused both to jump in shock with Mina in her friend's arms as Joshua said, "Young Izuku, I believe your friends would enjoy the garden if you have not shown them yet."
"WHERE'D YOU COME FROM!?" Shouted the two scared students as Iida stated, "I believe he came from the door."
"Now way, he appeared out of nowhere!" Mina exclaimed as her body shook.
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Follow us, guys." Izuku said with a smile before moving along. Kirishima and Mina stared at Joshua with uncertainty before Mina let herself down and followed the son of Dracula.
Once they arrived everyone, minus Izuku's childhood friends, marveled at the garden which seem to have many plants of many species which gave off an almost untouched Garden of Eden vibe, "Wooooow"
Momo giggled, "This is the manor's garden, not only does it have beautiful flowers but also produces some very fine vegetables and fruits that the staff use in many of the dishes they prepare."
"Dad likes to call it the Garden Forgotten by Time. Considering how many endangered species of flora are here, it kinda makes sense." Izuku explained as he started walking on the gravel trail.
Some things his friends could notice were statues. Not normal human statues. They were creatures of mythology. There was a statue of a woman covering her eyes with her hands. Her hair was filled with snakes of various species and breeds.
Another statue was a giant bull on its hind legs with a great axe in its hands. There was a large bush with white roses that were sorted to look like the world and it was held by a statue of a kneeling man which was meant to represent Atlas.
Mina couldn't help but state in amazement, "This is really amazing! I bet your mom loves working in here." Only for her question to be answered by a wild Joshua who once again appeared, this time with a tea set. "Izuku's mother does indeed love the garden, however it is the Mistress who truly enjoys tending to the flowers."
Mina, one again in her manly friend's arms, shouted at Joshua, "WOULD YOU STOP THAT! You're gonna give me a heart attack before i turn twenty!"
Iida adjust his glasses "I must say you are very effective in the art of stealth as well as an effiecent butler! Who did you learn from?" This time a more cultured voice was heard as now both manly man and Mina were in Iida's arms as he scared them. "That would be I for whom taught my young student in the art of being a very fine Butler."
"Joshua, Sebastian, please try not to scare my friends." Izuku said, worried about making his friends scared to come back.
"Apologies, Master Midoriya." Sebastian and Joshua bowed slightly to him.
Izuku sighs as Mina looked at the two butlers as she pointed at them with two fingers. "I'm keeping my eyes on you two, both of you sus."
After the two finally got out of Iida's arms, the group made their way to the edge of the garden where a covered patio was seen along with tea and snacks set out. "I have taken the liberty of having a nice simple tea brewed along with an assortment of Dragon confections set for you and your guest to enjoy young master." Said Sebastian as Joshua began pouring Izuku a cup, then Momo, and finally Uraraka.
"Thank you, Sebastian. Thank you, Joshua." Izuku said with a smile. Mina, Kirishima, and Iida sat down with them and a cup was also poured for them.
Soon footsteps were heard coming to him as Stain was seen with his hat off, his hair trimmed into a nice high and tight fashion shirt style. "Hey kiddo, sorry I have to leave. Something came up at one of the plants and those guys can't seem to do anything without me holding their hands."
Izuku looked at his uncle with a small frown, "Uncle you shouldn't push yourself, I still remember you coming home with your arm in a sling because of an accident at the docks."
He chuckled before ruffling Izuku's hair. "Make sure to follow your advice. Besides, it's my responsibility to make sure everything can go right. Whatever it means in this day." He muttered that last sentence. "Take care Izuku. Nice to meet you all, kids. Be good to my nephew." He put his hat on and walked away.
Izuku smiled as Stain walked, once outside he pulled out a burner phone and dialed a number, once the end was picked up he said simply "Load up the guns and boys, we got a message to send." Hanging up before getting into his car and drove away from the manor.
The message that was about to be sent would be one everyone would remember and would be the first of its kind not seen in Japan since the days of yakuzas glory days.
This was why Stain wearing a mask that covered his lower face found himself in Shinjuku with a few other members of the organization with two cars armed with Kalashnikovs as they drive slowly into Chinatown towards a simple-looking building that on the outside was a basic laundromat, however much like the bosses many businesses was a front for the chink who decided to try his luck by selling drugs on the streets of his boss's territory.
The group stepped out and hid their Kalashnikovs inside of their coats as they went inside of the Laundromat. Stain stopped in front of the attendant and spoke, "Hello sir."
"Ah, yes sir. How can I help you?" The Chinese attendant asked with a smile. Though he had a little wary look in his eyes as he looked at the other people in with him.
Stain smiled "why yes you can, I'm here to deliver a message of sorts to the owner of this fine establishment."
The man swallowed slightly as he asked "what uh...what kind of message?" Only for his eyes to widen at the sounds of safety being clicked off as the men brandish the Russian weapon.
"What happens when you try to sell on our street," Stain said with a snarl underneath his mask before pulling out his gun and firing. Blood sprayed everywhere on the wall behind him.
The citizens on the outside screamed at the sound of gunfire. But it did not matter as the group, led by Stain went further inside of the building before he kicked the door down to find a long warehouse filled with containers of drugs, and tables littered with equipment meant to create cocaine. It became silent as the workers and Chinese bodyguards stared at the group in shock.
"Light 'em up!" Stain ordered before holding his rifle by the hip and fired away.
Stain knew they had a short window before heros showed up, along with the police and so when enough damage was done he called out to his men "LETS GO!" Once outside the unmistakable sounds of sirens could be heard coming towards them.
"Cops! We gotta go!" Yelled one of Stain's men only for the sight of a man jumping off a roof to be seen as he landed nearby with his arms in a fighting stance "HALT! Surrender at once villains!" Called out a man in a dark blue suit with a red sash around his waist and the unmistakable wood mask showing this was the hero Kamui Woods and only him, which in Stain's mind was a fake hero but that was just his political view as he held all heroes to the standard of all might and his nephew.
"Hero at our six!" Called out one of his guys as they had their weapons leveled ready to shoot their way out, or at least give them an opening to get away.
The leader of the group growled before shouting out an order. "Torch him!" Stain's group aimed their weapons toward the hero and a hail of bullets stormed its way toward the wood-themed hero who created a shield full of branches to block the bullets.
"Go go!" Stain shouted as they ran to the car and dived in before quickly driving away.
The sound of police sirens filled the streets as did gunfire, however unlike most bosses, Stains had plans for such events once they were far enough away and kept the heroes at bay they would drive into a tunnel that had two cars waiting for them to switch into that allowed them to make a clean getaway.
Their escape would make news and even have a hit on the hero's reputation and standing, the deeper impact of their message would be greater as it would be the first time in Japan's history that gunmen armed with assault rifles openly attacked an establishment that when discovered was a front for a drug den caused a ripple effect in both regular society and the underworld of crime.
Over in Dracula's office, Kaina and her boyfriend were watching a news broadcast about the incident. "More news tonight as the investigation has turned up the drug den was owned by the Chinese Mafia looking to push their products onto the Japanese lands. The Prime Minister himself has stated his displeasure with China's government for allowing such an oversight to happen. Whether or not this will lead to confrontation, no one quite knows yet." The newswoman spoke as footage of the drug den was shown, along with crates with Chinese letters plastered on them.
"Well done, Chiozame." Dracula said with his hands together.
"No problem, boss." Stain said with a bow of his head.
"This is just more ammunition on the import ban." Kaina said to which Dracula nodded.
"Indeed. This wouldn't have happened if the ban didn't go through. Perhaps I should weigh in on this discourse." The King replied.
Kaina looked at Dracula as she asked, "Are you sure? I mean your oldest seems to be doing a good job."
Stain looked at her with a raised eyebrow "You questioning the boss? Just cause you're his girl." Only to stop when his boss raised a hand which caused him to calm down.
"She has the right to raise a concern. I will not hear such insults against anyone, understood?" Dracula glared at him which made him bow low.
"Yes sir. I apologize, Kaina." Stain said in a remorseful tone. Kaina simply released a puff of air from her mouth.
"Regardless, while my son is doing a well enough job, a simple show of support will certainly help if people know I support a government party that cares about its people." Dracula said with a leg over his other leg.
Both nodded before the office door opened and Joshua walked in and informed Dracula "Sir, you have a call waiting for you. It is from a prospective buyer for your more 'exotic' goods." Which more or less meant that someone wanted to buy some European spirits directly from Dracula.
"I see." Dracula grabbed the telephone before pressing a button. "Hello. To whom am I speaking?"
What followed was a woman's voice, Southern American with a hint of Japanese, "Is this the big Dragon himself I'm talking to?"
"It is. And you are?" Dracula asked while looking at Joshua who nodded. Dracula's laptop showed an image of the map of Earth. It was attempting to triangulate on who was calling him.
The woman continued, "You may call me Daisy, I think you can agree that people in our line of work within the borders can't be too careful with letting our names be given over unsecured lines when talking about exotic goods that a business man such as yourself provides."
Dracula frowned. "I see. And what, pray tell Daisy, are you looking for?"
Daisy soon began to lay out a pretty big order. "Well I was hoping for some French roses, a little Italian red grapes, and finally if it isn't too hard some Austrian sourdough." Now if anyone was listening, it would sound like this woman was ordering some things for a fancy get together, but what she was really asking was for some French red wine, Italian wine, and finally Austrian beer.
Dracula listened and started writing everything down on a parchment before asking, "Will that complete your order?" He asked.
"It will." Daisy replied.
"Your bouquet will be sent within a week once payment has been completed." Dracula said.
Daisy then asked, "Shall that be in cash or credit, Mister Dragon?"
"Cash."
Dracula could have sworn he heard this woman smile on the other end of the phone. "Till we meet, Mister Dragon."
The connection cut and Dracula looked at his laptop, and it unfortunately did not reveal the location of the caller. Dracula's paranoia began to ring as he did not have a good feeling about this transaction. But he was no coward, if it was a trap. He would see it sprung and come out on top.
Joshua sighed, "I'm sorry sir, we didn't find their location."
"It's alright. We simply need to prepare for this business transaction." Dracula replied.
Joshua nodded before he reached into his suit vest and produced a letter. "Also a letter came in for you from the United States from Mister Corleone." Holding out the letter which was rare in this day and age, the name seemed to cause Dracula's eyes to widen slightly in clear surprise.
"Corleone? So my old apprentice has reached out." Dracula said after pushing down his surprise. He took the letter and opened it.
Everyone present seemed to look at each other as they hadn't heard the name, but to Dracula the letter was nothing short of an old friend filling him in on what has happened since last they met. From becoming a Godfather himself to the main meat of the letter. His daughter was getting married and Dracula was invited to the wedding as a member of Corleone's family.
This caused Dracula to take a deep breath with a soft smile finding its way onto his face.
"Joshua, prepare the private jet in the next few days." Dracula ordered to which his butler obeyed.
"Vlad, what's going on?" Kaina asked to which Dracula looked at her with that smile.
"I have been invited to a wedding, and I want to ask if you would accompany me." Dracula said.
Kaina looked shocked as she asked, "On such short notice!? What about Izuku? Inko? What will I wear!?"
"Calm down, dear. We have plenty of time." Dracula said, placing a hand on her arm to gently calm her down.
Kaina sighed as she nodded before standing up, "Well then I am gonna go and find clothes needed for a wedding then." And left the office. Stain sighed as he said towards his boss, "Women, I'll never understand them."
"No one ever will." Dracula said with a chuckle before becoming serious once more. "This deal... It is giving me a bad feeling."
"Should we cancel the deal?" Joshua asked.
"We'll look weak to them, if we do." Stain replied.
Joshua nodded, "Indeed, yet conducting a deal with littler information is not something that should be considered." Looking towards Dracula, Joshua advised, "I recommend you let me or Stain here do some digging into this person before we even consider risking your safety."
"Do what you need to. As for me, I must prepare for the wedding." Dracula stood up from his chair and started walking out of the office.
Both bowed their heads as Dracula left. Only to discover that already Inko and Izuku were in one of the many living rooms being told of what they have been invited to and while Inko smiled with joy. Izuku wasn't smiling, instead he was starting to breathe and mumbling, "But what about school? I can't miss school. I can get some days off right? Right? Oh Kami what if I can't keep up with my school work?"
Quickly Kaina was already in front of her step son with a hand on his chest, forcing his eyes to look at hers. "Hey, hey look at me. Breathe. Breathe."
Izuku looked embarrassed as he looked away. "I did it again..."
"Hey, hey, it's ok Izuku. Listen, if you don't want to go, you don't have to. This is simply an option. If school is more important, then that's ok." Kaina ruffled his hair slightly.
Izuku looked away slightly as he said in a low voice, "But… But I don't want to disappoint Dad, he expects so much from me."
His own mother Inko rubbed his back in comfort as she said to her son, "Izuku, your father would never be disappointed in you."
"He wants what's best for you, and will provide what you need to become the best you can be. He will respect whatever decision you make, like what you did for All Might." Kaina said.
Izuku took more deep breaths before rubbing his eyes. "I'm sorry... I don't know why I'm acting this way." Immediately, both Kaina and Inko wrapped their arms around him to give him lots of comfort.
"This is not your fault, Izuku. None of this is your fault. This takes time, and you still have a lot of things to process." Inko said, her own tears threatening to leak.
Izuku just nodded as the soft footsteps filled the room along with the soft, deep, yet caring voice of his father. "Your mothers are right, the only thing I ever wish of you is to be happy." Izuku turned his head slightly as Dracula smiled down at him. "All this pressure you put on yourself is that of what society expects of you as my son."
Shaking his head slightly he added "But that is something I never want of you. For you have always made me proud, even if you were to drop out of school to become a simple farmer I would still see you as my son and support you as such."
Izuku took deep breaths to try and calm himself down. "I... I want to come with you guys. To the wedding."
Dracula nodded gently, "Ok. Then we will make the necessary preparations. Get some rest, son. Perhaps talk to your new friends." Izuku's father ruffled his hair slightly before kissing his head.
Izuku and Inko left to go to his room, just to ensure nothing would happen. Dracula watched with sadness in his eyes. "Izuku..."
Kaina looked at her boyfriend and asked, "Vlad?"
"That boy deserves the world... And it's crushing him." Dracula said solemnly.
Kaina nodded, "His therapist said that he was doing so much better… maybe it was a mistake to let him go to U.A. this soon."
She felt a hand on her arm as Dracula shook his head. "No, it would have crushed him if he didn't go to U.A. and we would have been back at square one when we started sending him to therapy."
"Then what is happening? What's causing him to regress?" Kaina asked in worry. Dracula thought it over. It could be school, perhaps Earaserhead went back on his word and treated him like crap, or perhaps it was Nezu, being a spiteful rat with an attempt to poison Izuku's mind.
The only other possibility was All Might's expectations of him. Dracula decided he would to talk to All Might about this when he'd call the school.
"I will figure this out, and I am going to fix it. I will not let my boy crumble from this." Dracula vowed with a grit of his teeth that showed off his fangs.
Kaina laid a hand on his chest which caused him to take a breath and nod slowly, "Apologies, I shouldn't let my son or the ones I love see me upset over something as personal as this."
Kaina kissed Dracula's lips gently before saying, "I'm going to spend time with Izuku and Inko."
Dracula nodded and watched her walk away. Dracula decided to relocate in his office where he sat down and called the school. After a ring or two, the U.A's receptionist answered.
"Thank you for calling U.A, how may I assist you?" The receptionist asked.
"I'd like to speak with Principal Nezu, if you'd please. It's Vlad Tepes calling for him."
"I'm sorry, Principal is-" She was cut off by something. Dracula could not hear it, but when the Receptionist returned, she spoke. "Your call will be forwarded. Have a good day!"
The voice changed to the jovial voice of the Principal. "Ah Mr. Tepes! Very rare that you would call. How many I assist you?"
"I'd like to report that Izuku will not be in school for a few days due to a family event." Dracula said. "Any and all school work you can acquire for those days, please send it to my home."
There was a powerful silence before Nezu asked, "This wouldn't happen to be related to a certain Italian land developer's daughter's wedding, now would it?"
Dracula's eye twitched slightly, because of course the little rat would pay attention to events outside of Japan. With a calm and leveled voice Dracula would say, "Yes, he's a family friend who invited me and my family to America for the wedding. Which is why I wish to pull my son from school to attend such a wondrous event."
"Well that's a wonderful reason, and we will provide you with the necessary school work for him to work on while away. I do hope you have a wonderful time." Dracula could just hear the grin on the rat's face.
"Thank you." Dracula said, suppressing a growl before hanging up on him. "Goddamn rat." He growled.
As Dracula took a deep breath, he began to lean back in his chair and think of happier thoughts as a ghost of a smile graced his lips as he thought of his time back in America. "Has it truly been so long since I last saw you, old friend?"
Thoughts of a young Corleone looking up to Dracula raced through his mind. He watched with pride as the young man took over as the Godfather and ruled New York with respect and yet ruthlessness. Much like how his mentor does to this day.
Dracula smiled at such fond memories as he looked at the photo of him and his son on his 8th birthday with smiled as he softly ran a thumb over the frame of the photo. "One day, one day I shall be there for when you achieve your dreams."
The next week rolled around and Dracula, Kaina, Inko, and Izuku were at the airport, climbing down the stairs of their private jet. They were met with lines of men in suits standing in front of a red carpet that was rolled out for them. At the end of the carpet was a limo that was planned to take them to their destination.
"Welcome to America, senior!" One man in a suit said.
Dracula nodded with a smile as Izuku couldn't help but notice a lot of the men in suits had polar bear mutant quirks which caused his brain to go a hundred miles a minute as he was analyzing them.
The family were following the man that looked like a Polar Bear towards the limo before the door was opened for them. They all climbed in and buckled up as the limo began to drive off.
Once on the road, Izuku, Inko, even the former hero couldnt help but marvel at New York City with its massive buildings, packed streets, it was something that never could truly experience in Japan.
Yet for Dracula it just brought back memories for him of the years when quirks first came to be and vampires along with many other creatures of the night or those who stayed hidden could finally walk among the humans.
"It's amazing..." Izuku said with wonder, his eyes sparkling with amazement.
Dracula smiled as they soon came upon what looked to be a suburban area which was full of mansions both old and new until they came upon one which had more polar and ursa quirk users standing guard at the entrance which had a gothic style gate.
"Well this looks familiar." Kaina commented humorously as the limo pulled into the driveway before a guard opened the door for them. One by one, they all stepped out and were led inside.
Soon Dracula and his group were brought into office as a older looking man with slavic features is seen standing behind the desk as Izuku gulps abit at his serious features "Uh… It's… it's a pleasure to meet you sir, and I thank you for inviting me and my family." He and Inko bowed a bit only for a soft laughter to be heard from the chair that had its back facing towards the group.
Soon the chair spins around as the sight of a rather short older man is seen, his hair as silver as Dracula's with kind older eyes. "Your boy is a funny one. Mistaking one of my bodyguards for me. He is a funny." He shook a finger in good nature towards Izuku.
Izuku squeaked and started to shake in fear of having done something wrong. Only for Dracula to calm him down with a hand to his shoulder. "He means well. Honest and kind to a fault. It's good to see you, Mr. Big." He said, making Inko and Kaina try to stifle their laughter at the name.
"It's good to see you as well, senior." Mr. Big said with a smile. Soon he got down and walked up as Dracula took a knee as the short italian man kissed him on the cheeks before giving him a hug with a soft pat on the back. "Look at you, not a day over two hundred and you look better then i at almost 67." Mr. Big said with a laugh.
Dracula chuckled, "Oh please, you will outlive us all."
Mr. Big laughed and patted the King's back. "Mr. Corleone is getting everything ready. You'll see him tomorrow. In the meantime, why don't I show you all to your rooms?"
The small man walked them out of the office and into the hallway. "His house is your house for the remainder of your time here. If you require anything, simply call for a guard or a butler. I might be busy at times, but if you require me, you can find me in the office."
"We thank you for you for the hospitality." Kaina said as she wrapped an arm around Dracula's.
"Ah think nothing of it, mia signora. A lot of this wouldn't have been possible if not for him." Mr. Big replied, referring to Dracula.
Izuku looked at the smaller man as he asked, "Did my dad really help you guys achieve all of this?" He motioned to the large house as Mr. Big couldnt help but give a good hearted laugh along with the guards. "My boy, your father is the reason why New York and New Jersey is still around! If not for his business smarts and cunning… well I dont have to tell ya what things would probably look like if not for that educated head of his."
This caused Dracula to chuckle as he waved his hand slightly, "I was just helping the economy."
"I'd love to learn more!" Izuku exclaimed which made everyone chuckle.
"Curious boy, isn't he?" The small man asked Dracula.
"It's one of the things that defines him. Along with his kindness and desire to good." Dracula said.
"Much like you." Mr. Big replied, though this made Dracula frown slightly which did not go unnoticed by Kaina. Though that would be addressed later.
Mr. Big brought them to several rooms, "They have all the necessities needed. Bathrooms, showers, television, and closets for you to store your clothes in." If you need separate rooms, just let us know now."
Inko shook her head, "No, thank you for all the kindness youve shown so far." She bowed as did Izuku which caused the small man to chuckle as he waved his arms upwards. "None of that here, you are famiglia much like Dracula here is consider a fratello to I and many others within this family, so that makes you family through him. So please no bowing, eh."
"Still, thank you very much for the hospitality." Dracula said with a smile.
"Of course, senior. Now please, acquaint yourself with your rooms. We'll have dinner in a couple minutes." Mr. Big said before leaving the four to their rooms.
Dracula and Kaina got their own room as they placed their suitcases down and started to unpack. Kaina looked at him with worried eyes as she placed a hand on his shoulder, "Vlad? What's wrong?"
Dracula looked at her for a few seconds before releasing a sigh. "Izuku... He's a much better man than I ever will be."
Kaina smiled as she laid her head on his shoulder, "Isnt that the hope of all parents? For thier children to try and be better then their parents?"
He looked at her before laying his head on hers in response. "You're right…"
Kaina nodded as she looked out at the setting sun before saying, "I wonder how your oldest is doing."
Back in Japan
Over in a more modest house as opposed to Dracula's mansion, Adrian was sleeping in bed, a small smile was on his face. The source of the smile was laying right next to him, a woman with dark skin and platinum blonde hair with bunny ears was starting to wake up.
Having a blissful smile on her face, the woman of darker complexion stood up and dawned a white cotton robe. Stroding downstairs to the sound of birds chirping, the expresso machine brewing, yes it was a wonderful morning to wake up to for one Rumi Usagiyama.
That was until Adrian's phone on the countertop rang and, being curious, she looked at the ID of tbe caller. That's when her morning turned to crap at who it was. Deciding to end the person's whole career, she answered it.
"Hello, you're speaking to Mr. Tepes' new and only booty call. Listen here, you pompous little cock tip, he was drunk and hot and you got lucky. And like the fuck boy you were, you broke his heart. Now he's got a real piece of ass that can keep up. And unlike you, he's got the dick to keep up with me, so let me make this perfectly clear. You so much as breathe in his direction, and I don't care if you're under his father's payroll, I will gladly go to Tartarus if it means sending you down with me. So don't ever fucking call this number again!"
Hanging up, she heard the sound of her man coming down the stairs as he yawned, asking in a clearly tired voice. "Who was that, love?" Walking like a zombie over to the expresso machine.
"Wrong number." Rumi quickly said.
You might be wondering how this little coupling happened. Well it started all the way back to Izuku's 15th birthday when Olrox, Commander of Dracula's private military decided he wanted to have a taste of Adrian Tepes, Politician and Head of the newest government party, Japan First.
The two had a wonderful time, until Olrox said that he only wanted it because of th victory of taking Adrian to bed. This hurt Adrian and he became quite depressed. When Adrian's father learned about this, The Commander was let go.
One night, Adrian was out at the Singing Jack, wallowing and drinking his depression away, until he saw an angel. An angel in the form of the No. 6 Hero, Miruko. Dressed in a red sparkling dress, she sang her heart out which captivated Adrian.
After the performance, Adrian bought her a drink and the two began to talk. Adrian learned this was a side gig and one of her other passions, outside of beating the crap out of villains, was singing.
Adrian then revealed why one of the most famous politicians in Japan was drinking away his sorrows, and normally Miruko didn't care about people and their feelings. But his story resonated with her. She too had been the victim of sex simply for the sake that she was one the most famous and most sexy heroes in the world.
So the two hit it off over drinks and their hobbies. Miruko was almost captivated by Adrian's charm and so was he. That's when the two went back to the house and had a more enjoyable time than ever before.
Of course, right now all that mattered was Adrian, the cup of very expensive expresso and how she could possibly either A. retire from heroing and become a full time singer or B. rope her other friend who has been bitching and moaning about not being able to find a man.
"You were amazing last night, love." Said a smiling Adrian as he sipped his cup.
Rumi Usagiyama smiled back and walked towards him before wrapping her arms around his neck. "Hey, don't sell yourself short. I never thought a creature of the night such as yourself was able to keep up with me. Good in bed, a charming and honest politician, and just overall, a sweet guy. I'd say I hit the jackpot."
Adrian chuckled as he wrapped an arm around her waist, "A strong yet caring woman with the voice of an angel, not to mention those cute ears of yours. If anything, I think I have hit the jackpot as well."
Miruko blushed slightly and the two shared a kiss.
Oh yes, she did hit the jackpot and an out from not only hero work but also the Commission, but her man didn't need to know about that. Because right now, all she cared about was the man in front of her and what he can offer her. "So stud, I don't have to do any hero work or go singing 'til later. You wanna have a little more fun with this chocolate bunny?"
Adrian looked at her with a smile as he placed his cup down and pressed himself against her, with them both leaning slightly against the counter. "I believe a round 10 is in order." He said with a smirk and his yellow eyes sparkled with delight and lust.
Rumi grinned as soon both her and Adrian had their lips and bodies locked in heated passion. Which, years later, would lead to a rather large amount of children but that was well and truly down the line for the young couple.
"He's... He's still dealing with that heartbreak. I should call him soon, just to let him know we landed." Dracula replied to Kaina.
Kaina nodded a little as she sat down on their bed. "I still can't believe you fired Commander Olrox and replaced him with that British guy… What was his name again? Vince? Vance?"
"Varney, and you know exactly why I fired him." Dracula said.
Kaina nodded as she snapped her fingers "Varney, that's right! Right, nice and proper man honestly." She said with a smile as she went to get her bath bag out.
"Indeed." Dracula said with a smile before sitting down on the bed and took a deep breath to decompress.
Soon Kaina returned now with her hair down as she began to brush it. Of course, she couldn't help but wonder out loud. "When will be the day you present me with a ring and make me your Countess?"
Dracula looked up at her and chuckled. "That's quite forward of you darling."
She couldnt help but shrug her shoulders "What can I say? Weddings make girls think when they will one day have that ring on their finger from the one they love."
"I promise you this, dear. Once everything has calmed down, or changed for the better, I will present you with the greatest ring you've ever seen." He gently grabbed her hand to show her that he was being serious.
Kaina couldn't help but smile as she brought his face close to hers and placed a gentle kiss upon his lips. The kiss lasted a few seconds before the two split and gently hugged each other.
Kaina smiled as while she and Dracula enjoyed each others company, the son couldn't sit still as he had snuck out of the room provided for him and began exploring the home, estate, even coming upon something that honestly shocked him which was a small garden area full of oranges.
Izuku looked around the orange garden and even held one in his hand until he heard an older Italian voice behind him. "I always liked oranges as a child."
Izuku yelped as he spun around to the source of the voice. It was an older gentleman with balding hair and a wide jaw. He smiled slightly as he continued. "They were a luxury where I came from. Winter always ruined the crops, so it was always disheartening to see the orange tree slowly die. But the few times where it survived, I learned to cherish those oranges."
He walked over towards Izuku who was shaking like a leaf at the man's presence. The old man picked an orange off of the tree and polished it. "So, you're Senior Tepes' boy?" He asked.
"Ah! I-I-I'm Izuku Midoriya-Tepes, s-sir!" The boy stood up straight before bowing his upper half a perfect 90 degree angle.
The older man couldn't help but laugh as he softly pat Izuku on the head. "Look at you, shaking like me when I first came to America in the dead of winter from the old country."
Izuku looked up at him while the man put a hand to his heart, "I'm Vito Corleone, head of the Corleone Family and your father's old business partner. It's nice to meet his son."
"Ah, I-I-It's nice to m-meet you too, s-sir!"
Vito smiled as he took an orange from the tree and began walking, "Come, come. These old bones of mine aren't as young as they use to be."
Izuku jumped slightly before quickly catching up to him. "What was my father like, when you were younger?" He asked Vito.
"Ah... Senior Tepes was honorable, kind, and intelligent. He taught me how to read people just from their body language and expressions. In order to do business, transparency is what matters. If they are not as transparent as you are, you must drop them for they will hurt your business in the long run. That was one of the many lessons your father taught me."
Sitting down, with the help of Izuku, on one of the many stone benches, Vito pulled out a pocket knife and begins peeling the orange "But something your father taught me most, was that business is good yes, but family. Family is so very important." He said before holding a slice towards Izuku with a grandfatherly smile.
Izuku slowly took the orange slice and bit into it before smiling at its taste. "Family isn't just your blood, it's who you keep close and who has your back in your time of need." Izuku said, quoting his father.
Vito nodded with a smile. "That's right. It's like the full saying, the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb."
Vito continued to smile as he looked to the sky. "It reminds me of when I first came to this nation from the old country, I had nothing to my name, I had to work my way up from nothing." He motioned to the large usra and polar bear based quark guards. "Even those who help protect me are from the old neighborhood."
This honestly shocked Izuku as he asked, "But… but I thought America was better off during the early years of quirks?" This caused Vito to chuckle as he laid a hand on Izuku's shoulder.
"Listen, my boy. This lesson applies to all new things in life. People hate and fear what they don't understand. That especially applies to quirks. When they were revealed to the world, it was met with fear. Everyone was afraid of what could happen to themselves and society if they decided to use their powers for their own benefit. Riots, robbings, territorial warfare, it was chaos."
Izuku looked down with a bit of a sad face until Vito added, "But take heart in this. The family you have makes you rich. But the friends you hold close that makes them family which makes you richer."
"Is that how you met my father?" Izuku asked.
"Yes. There I was, shivering in an alleyway, dead of winter. When he found me as a young boy. He took me in and instilled me the knowledge necessary for me to become a something from nothing." Vito said. "I believe you already share the same qualities as him."
Izuku smiled a little as he said, "Everyone says I do." Then he frowned slightly. "But others say I should aspire to be like my dad because of how big he is, it sometimes makes me think I'm just standing in his shadow like people expect me to be just as successful as him."
Vito looked at him with sympathy. "And what does your father tell you?"
Izuku looked at him and replied, "He tells me to be who I want to be. To be the best man I can be, and he would support me all the way."
"Then it is clear that those who want you to be like your father don't know you or him. They only know his accomplishments. Don't listen to them, listen to your heart, and be open to those who see you as their friend." Vito said, in a grandfatherly manner, that displayed wisdom.
Izuku nodded as he took in the man's words before the voice of his father was heard. "Ah so this is where you are, I was worried you wondered off, son."
Turning around Izuku smiled as he shook his head, "I only explored a bit dad, and met this nice elder here." He motioned to the older man who couldn't help but laugh a little.
Dracula looked at the elder and smiled. "It's good to see you again, Vito."
"As it is to see you as well, Senior Tepes." The man said, standing up to walk over to the Vampire before the two embraced each other.
The two patted each other's back before splitting up. "Son, why don't you head back up to your room? Me and Vito have much to speak about."
Izuku nodded and began walking away before Vito called out. "Nipote!" To which the young man looked back towards him. "Remember my words, boy. Don't let anyone lead your path." The young boy nodded and smiled before walking off.
Vito soon sat down with a groan before smiling at Vlad. "You have a great son there, a lot of heart." He chuckled a bit. "If a little down on himself, reminds me of some of the neighborhood kids who looked for work."
"For years, he was told he couldn't be a hero. That he was never good enough. Though he has made strides, he still has that lingering doubt in the back of his mind. I believe he will overcome it, it just takes some time." Dracula said, a somber look on his face as he watched his son walk away.
Veto nodded in understanding before he asked, "Does he know?" Him being a father himself and now a grandfather he knew what it was like to keep life separate from the family unless they were ready.
"No. But I know it will be only a matter of time until he does." Dracula said before sitting down with Vito.
"Secrets always find a way out, Senior. That is the truth we all must accept. No matter how deep we bury ourselves, something will dig it up." Vito said with a sigh.
"And I'm prepared to accept whatever he has to son. I just want to make sure he understands how this world works, because despite everything he's been through... He still has that hope of becoming a hero." Dracula said.
Vito then looked at him before asking, "And if he decides that it is time that you must be taken down?"
Dracula closed his eyes before responding, "Then my empire has come to an end. He is the only thing that would get me to stop my operations."
Vito smiled as he nodded, "Then you raised him right as I have done with my baby girl for whom I am going to walk down the aisle."
Dracula smiled as he looked to his old ward. "And how has she been? Do you believe this man that has captured her heart is worthy?"
Vito laughed as he shook his head. "The man? No. None can be too good for her. But as for her? She wishes to be a doctor due to her quirk being a healing one which couldn't make this old heart of mine anymore happy."
Dracula chuckled as he thought back to the Yaoyorozu girl. "I believe my son's heart has been captured by one of his classmates, but the poor boy's too nervous or doesn't even realize it."
Vito laughed a little. "Ah, to be young."
The two shared a laugh together before it became quiet as they simply enjoyed each other's company.
Of course much like the wheels of time the preparations for the wedding came down to the final wire. For Dracula much like Vito, both wore suits with a rose over their hearts but neither were at the church for such a joyous day. No, both powerful men were in a dimly lit office as a man stood in front of Vito holding a hat in his hands as he pleaded his case to the powerful Godfather of the east coast. "Godfather, I beg of you to give me another week to get your money, business has been slow and I dont have the money for you as promised. Please, I beg of you."
The man was on the verge of tears as Vito slowly spoke with a serious tone. "You come to me on the day of my daughter's wedding, a joyous day to ask of me a favor?"
The man nodded, "Yes Godfather. With great respect I ask of this selfish request."
Dracula watched the sniveling coward beg for this last chance. "The thing about deadlines, Mr. Dubois, is that they are to be met in an orderly fashion, and if we started to give everyone an extension... Well that just sets a bad example. So why should we grant you this favor?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Vito raised his hand, "Any other day yes, but today is the day of my daughter's wedding and as such I shall give you this kindness. But only this once."
The man's eyes widened as he bowed his head a few times. "Thank you Godfather! Thank you! I shall not forget this!" Vito held out his hand with a large ring to which the man came up and lightly kissed the ring.
Soon, the man was taken away, leaving the two alone. "Far kinder than I am." Dracula commented with a chuckle.
Vito nodded as he stood up with the help of his cane. "But in such times as these, giving hope is something one has the right to do. After all, it is the day my baby girl becomes a woman in the eyes of the lord, so why not be kind?"
"I take your point." Dracula said with a smile before placing a hand on his shoulder before the two made their way out of the office and back towards the wedding.
And what a wedding it was, no expenses spared as Dracula with his party was at the front with Inko and Izuku both fighting back tears of joy as all stood and watched as Vito walked his daughter, a beautiful Italian American girl of 28 down the aisle towards a young man of clearly jewish descent wearing a gamache on his head.
Soon both stood hand and hand smiling as the priest began the ceremony. "Mawage! Mawage is what bwings us togevuh tooday." His lisp of course got a few soft chuckles.
The former Lady Nagant smiled as she leaned over and whispered to Dracula "I bet you would throw an amazing wedding."
"Well it depends on how extravagant you'd like it." Dracula whispered back as the priest continued to say the speech with a comical lisp.
Soom the exchanging of rings were done followed by the kiss winched had everyone clapping and smiling as at the reception dinner vito sat at the head with his daughter on his right with Dracula and his family on the left.
Holding his glass he smiled at all those gathered,"It warms my heart to see the family together for such a joyous occasion, it brings back memories of when I first came here from the old country. It was a cold November and I was a young boy who came to this country with the clothes on my back and a dream. Ah yes I was chasing the American Dream to make my own but unlike the man you see before you I was not so lucky. Times were hard, work was harder and if not for the man here for whom I call my mentor I would not have been given the opportunity to make the life I have now." He motioned towards Dracula with a smile.
The Vampiric Godfather raised his glass towards Vito and bowed his head in acceptance.
Vito looked off towards a shrine to an elderly woman who smiled in a formed painting. "With the money I had, I brought my sweet mama over from the old country along with our family. With that our family grew and with it came growth for our community, and with it came more friends who we call family even if not by blood."
He raised his glass to the polar bear quirked members who raised their glasses back before he finally turned to his daughter and continued to smile. "My sweet baby girl, you are now a woman. So I give you these words that our family has lived by. The family you have makes you rich. But the friends you hold close, that makes them family which makes you richer. Saloon!" Before he raised his glass high which others did and made the toast.
Dracula couldn't help but smile as he saw his student laugh and enjoy the happiest moment of his friend and daughter's life. Even with Izuku and his mother smiling, laughing, and even when he waltzed with Kaina on the dance floor it was as if the world around them didn't matter.
As if this true happy moment couldn't be shattered.
Yet with all good things, a storm of darkness followed for even when they returned to Japan, one phone call caused Dracula's world to come crumbling down.
For one phone call had him standing by a hospital bed surrounded by his family, his long trusted people staring down at the one thing he swore to never let get hurt, the one thing that had brought him true happiness as a father once more.
One phone call brought him a great hellfire of anger as his son Izuku was laying in a hospital bed covered head to toe in a full body cast on life support. For that one phone call reminded him that no matter how wonderful of a life you have, no matter how close you hold the ones you love, there will always be darkness there waiting to strike.
For that is how the world works.
