35. The End of the War - Cello’s Interview

A few days after speaking to James, I followed the contact details that James sent me to an address which required me to take the LA Metro to an area not far from LA's beaches. I had my project colleagues contact Mashymere to see if he would do an interview which he accepted and thus I arrived at what appeared to be a beach house with surfboards tied to the front of the house.

I knocked on the door and opening it was a man with greyish blue hair, a grey beard and was was wearing a pink top with an white Armani blazer and denim shorts with white sandals, he had a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses on his head.

"You must be that journalist that James has been banging on about, I see your here to speak to me about the war," said Mashymere

"I am indeed, I have just interviewed James not long ago and he sent me here," I said

"Yeah, please come on in, I was going to go surfing until you arrived, but I'll wait," said Mashymere

"Are you sure, I can come later," I said feeling guilty that Mashymere was about to go surfing.

"Come on inside, I'll go make us some refreshments," said Mashymere

I walked inside to a house that has a oak wood like interior, I walked past what was a shrine to his fallen love Haman which was a photo of her and Mashymere during the Alien/Titans War with a red rose next to the photo.

I walked past what was a room with a yoga mat and a mini fountain near it which signalled it to be a meditation room. We eventually arrived into Mashymere's living room which overlooked the beach which was always a pleasant site, the room seemed to be attached to the kitchen which Mashymere prepared cola's for both of us as well as potato chips.

"Here are the refreshments, right, where do you want to begin," said Mashymere

"I would like to talk about where you were when your lover was at the Battle of Detroit," I asked

"I was sent to assist with a mission, with the New Titans getting pushed back heavily, I along with the ACS Phantom was sent to assist the ACS Kaori Miyazono and its crew on a mission that involved taking a desired and rare object needed for the war effort," said Mashymere

Flashback December 20th 0 AC - on route to Middle-Moon

The ACS Phantom and ACS Kaori Miyazono had been sent on a mission to find a seemingly ancient lost item that an mysterious Dilganese CIA agent requested to help end the war.

"Mashymere, we are receiving comms from the Miyazono," said Lieutenant Doug Funnie

"Activate the comms," said Mashymere

"This is Admiral Charlie Miyazono Pickles of the 2nd Alien Fleet, I believe you have been sent as reinforcements," said Charlie

"Indeed, this is Captain Mashymere Cello of the Alien Ghost Fleet, we have been been sent for assistance," said Mashymere

"I was expecting James's mom to answer as she is usually head of the Alien Ghost Fleet," said Charlie

"She's been sent to the Michigan Front which means that I am acting as Head of the Fleet," said Mashymere

"I see, what are we dealing with," said Charlie

"According to intel, the New Titans are using magical shields in the orbit of Middle-Moon to repel Dilganese and Dango Fleets, we need to use maximum firepower to damage it in order to board the moon to find the artefact," said Mashymere

"Have we made contact with any of the factions on Middle-Earth," said Charlie

"The Kingdom of Gondor is the closest communication that we have received, but there currently along with the Dango Navy engaged with New Titans forces trying to invade the planet, as for the others we've received faint communications, but not clear enough to decipher which side they are on," said Mashymere

"So we're most likely on our own unless the Gondor/Dango Coalition breaks the New Titans invasion down," said Charlie

"Essentially yes," said Mashymere

Charlie sighed before saying "Ushio, prepare the scanners, let's see what the New Titans are going to be deploying, Liam, prepare the ships defences,"

Both saluted as they went to their assigned battle stations, while Charlie sat in his officer's chair as he and his crew were on their way to Middle-Moon.

Moments Later

"Charlie, 3 hostile ships detected," said Ushio

"Have we got any information on the ship class and position," said Charlie

"It appears to be Alexandria-Class ships that are orbiting around the planet," said Ushio

"All hands on battle stations, Liam how are those defences coming," said Charlie

"We've got them almost set, prepare the shields in the meantime," said Liam

"We will track their position when they fire at us, this ship's shields are able to take some power from a Alexandria-class," said Charlie

Meanwhile on the Alexandria-class ship 'The Salvation'

New Titans Captain 'Perfect' Peter Penelope had assigned to defend Middle-Moon from any incursions that may arise from the Dilganese, Dangos or any of their allies. The New Titans had taken Middle-Moon early in the war and had been involved in a long invasion campaign of Middle-Earth which was more than a millennia long removed from the days of the Lord of the Rings and was now divided into many sub kingdoms and territories such as the Kingdom of Gondor and the Kingdom of the Elves which were one of the few countries that inhabited Middle-Earth.

However the New Titans invasion of Middle-Earth had been an costly endeavour with many resources and troops being thrown into what was becoming the New Titans equivalent of Vietnam and was beginning to affect the New Titans effectiveness on other fronts including the North American Front which was beginning to become costly especially with the fall of the Empire of Leni.

'The Salvation' was to guard Middle-Moon which possessed a ancient artefact from the Middle-Earths previous ages that had contained magic and supernatural entities before the Dagor Dagorath saw magic and supernatural creatures disappear with only humans, elves, hobbits and dwarfs remaining.

"Peter, we have picked up a fleet of hostile ships on our sensors, what is our next course of action," said Lieutenant Gordon

"Lieutenant Ted, keep the ships weapons and MS teams on standby, have we got any indication on the sort of ships that are being thrown at us," said Captain Peter

"The fleet is being led by two Stu-Class vessels, two of them have been identified as the ACS Kaori Miyazono and ACS Phantom," said Lieutenant Gordon

"Dil's sending in the big guns, hold off on deploying the MS, they'll be mere cannon fodder if the Phantom deploys the Newtypes," said Captain Peter

"What should be our next course of action," said Lieutenant Gordon

"We should activate all shields and prepare for a close ship barrage," said Captain Peter

"But the Alexandria doesn't have the firepower to fight a close ship to ship battle with a Stu-Class," said Lieutenant Ted

"With our shields given to us by high command, the Stu-Class won't be able to damage our ship and if they try and bypass us to take the moon then we have orders to destroy Middle-Moon," said Captain Peter

"What about the artefact, there are rumours that it has supernatural properties," said Lieutenant Gordon

"We'll have to take the risk if both ships bypass us, but that's unlikely considering the intel that we have on the Commanders of both ships," said Captain Peter

"The fleet is getting closer, estimated to engage in less than 3 minutes," said Lieutenant Gordon

"Turn the weapons sideways, we aim to be in-between both ships for maximum impact," said Captain Peter

Meanwhile on the ACS Phantom

"Cello, the enemy ships are not deploying their MS at all and moving at a odd direction," said Lieutenant Doug

"Deploy a small MS team to infiltrate Middle-Moon, we'll use this ship as a distraction," said Mashymere

"That could be risky, what if those MS are detected," said Lieutenant Doug

"Tell the MS teams to turn off their radar until they reach the moon and then to turn them on immediately, whoever the enemy ship captain is, they would want to sink our ships for the glory," said Mashymere

"Yes sir," says Lieutenant Doug as he relays the message through the ships text comms system.

"Lieutenant Stills, prepare all ship weapons for contact," said Mashymere

"Very well, sir," said Lieutenant Stephen Stills as the ships weapons ready themselves.

The ships began to engage with each other with both Dilganese ships firing at the New Titans fleet and the New Titans returned fire with both ships taking crucial hits.

"Cello, we've taken some damage to the shields and our engines are functioning on half capacity, what shall we do," said Lieutenant Doug

"Keep firing at them, don't let them have any breathing room, Charlie what is the status of your ship," said Mashymere

"We took some light damage, but nothing major," said Charlie

Meanwhile

"Peter, the enemy ships have taken light damage with the Phantom taking more damage than the Zono, what's your next course of action," said Lieutenant Gordon

"Prepare the homing missiles," said Captain Peter

"Yes sir" said Lieutenant Ted

'The Salvation' prepared to fire its homing missiles.

"Which one shall we aim at, Captain" said Lieutenant Ted

"Hmmm, prepare to fire at the ACS Kaori Miyazono, if we take that down, we will receive immense glory," said Captain Peter

"But the ACS Phantom has sustained more damage, wouldn't it make more sense hitting that," said Lieutenant Gordon

"Send comms to Captain Sam on 'The Sword of Authority' to target the ACS Phantom, we will concentrate our fire on the ACS Kaori Miyazono," said Captain Peter

"Preparing homing missiles," said Lieutenant Ted

'The Salvation' began firing its homing missiles at the ACS Kaori Miyazono.

Meanwhile

"Charlie, we are detecting homing missiles, heading our direction," said Ushio

"Prepare the anti-missile defence systems," said Charlie

"Will do," said Liam as the ships anti-missile defences are activated which causes the homing missiles to dissipate.

"That won't be the last of them, keep those defences active," said Charlie

"Charlie, request permission to deploy in the Zaku III Custom," said Mashymere

"Very well, just get back safely," said Charlie

Meanwhile

"Captain, we are detecting MS activity coming from the Phantom," said Lieutenant Gordon

"The Newtype is deciding to engage directly, prepare my MS, I'll deal with it personally," said Captain Peter

Captain Peter left the bridge of his ship and into the hanger area where he entered into his GM Command II which was painted in Titans colours

"Captain Peter Penelope, GM Command II, launching," said Captain Peter as his MS was launched

The GM Command II began aiming its Beam Gun in a hope of finding the enemy MS which had been sortied.

"Where can you be, Spacenoid, show your self," said Captain Peter

Suddenly a Big Bang could be heard as 'The Sword of Authority' had just been sunk by the MS.

"Damn it, you're not going to sink my battleship, you zeek trash," said Captain Peter as he headed towards where 'The Sword of Authority' had been sunk.

"Spotted" said Captain Peter as he fired his beam gun at the Zaku III Custom which was dodging the shots.

"Definitely a Newtype, we're dealing with," muttered Captain Peter to himself.

The GM Command II began swerving around asteroids to try and get a good vantage point on the Zaku III Custom, but the Zaku III Custom was too fast to be outmanoeuvred and eventually beam sabers clashed.

"Look who it is, it's that Zeon simp who blindly follows that tyrannical space bitch," said Captain Peter

"You have no right to say that, Titan," said Mashymere as the MS continued to clash sabers

The GM Command II used one of its flash grenades in an attempt to stun the Zaku III Custom, but the Zaku responded by flying away and detaching its space mines to throw the GM Command II off guard, but the pilot was far more aware than many other New Titans pilots that Cello had fought and managed to stay clear of the grenades.

The GM Command II began firing its grenade launcher at the mines in an attempt to throw off the Zaku III Custom, Cello managed to evade most of the explosions, however one of them caused damage to one of the Zaku III's legs.

"Damn it, if this Titan wants to fight like a knight, I'll give him a good show," said Mashymere as he prepares his MS's beam saber.

The GM Command II attempts to use its Vulcan guns, but they are blocked by the Zaku III's shield which gets dented as it flies towards the GM Command II in a fierce charge as it attempted to slash the GM with a beam saber, but the GM kicked the beam saber away and attempted to use its beam saber for a finishing blow before the Zaku III fired its chest stun ray which allowed it to move slowly away, the GM Command II was about to chase it before it was interrupted by its comms.

"Captain, we've got reports that Middle-Moon has a Dilganese convoy boarding it," said Lieutenant Gordon

"I'm in a middle of a battle, destroy the moon, leave no Dilganese alive," said Captain Peter.

Suddenly they spotted flying space torpedos heading in the direction of the New Titans ships which destroys most of the supporting fleet.

"Darn it, I'm heading back to the ship, prepare to retreat, we'll avenge this failure," said Captain Peter

The GM Command II retreated back to its ship before the ship retreated to an another system as Mashymere managed to drag his damaged MS back to the ACS Phantom which he then left his MS and headed straight for the bridge.

"Cello, we have the artifact and are on route to delivering it to the Phantom," said Lieutenant Doug

"Excellent, any news on the Michigan Front," said Mashymere

"We have word that Royal Woods have fallen and the Dilganese are currently marching on Detroit," said Lieutenant Doug

"Won't be long before the Empire of Leni will be finished," said Mashymere

"We are receiving comms from an unknown frequency," said Lieutenant Doug

"Put it through," said Mashymere

"This is Kaori Arima of the CIA, we've got word that you have the artifact," said Kaori

"We do, its being transported to the Phantom as we speak after a small battle," said Mashymere

"Good, I am sending your ship some co-ordinates, I want you to deliver it there, Charlie's ship is going to be given different orders in order to help the war effort so you'll be going with the Purple Hand Fleet to ensure the artifact remains in our hands," said Kaori

"Why can't Charlie's fleet assist mine, sending a fleet from elsewhere could impact other battles," said Mashymere

"Because that is your orders and you are not to question them, do you understand," said Kaori raising her voice angrily.

"Very well," said Mashymere as he turned his comms off.

End of Flashback

John Stason's POV

"Here's a question, theirs a conspiracy going around that the artifact was the One Ring to Rule them All," I asked

"It was, Kaori wanted it in case Lawrence Pester got too powerful for reality itself," said Mashymere

"I heard that at the very end of the war Kaori was getting desperate to end the war by any means," I said

"By the way she was acting like she was throwing everything to the all just to finish the war," said Mashymere

"Do you think that she felt responsible for the war considering her reuniting with Charlie practically opened Pandora's box," I asked

"When I met her to give her the artifact, I could see it in her eyes, she looked exhausted like she just wanted the war to be over," said Mashymere as he stood up and walked over to the balcony of his house where a picture perfect view of the beach could be seen and the sounds of the waves crashing and seagulls chirping overrode the auditory senses.

"Ahh it feels so peaceful out here, the waves crashing, the seagulls flying around, it feels both relieving and strange after years of war," said Mashymere

"You fought in the Neo-Zeon wars, protecting the Key to Time and the Alien/Titans War, I'm sure it must feel good to feel at peace," I said

"It does feel mostly good to be at peace, although it feels kinda empty without Haman and as I can never replace her with an another woman, my heart won't allow it, I've tried many other things to fill that particular hole and the only things that can somewhat fill it are meditation and surfing," said Mashymere

"I can sort of tell by the yoga mats and surf boards," I said

"As your here, do you want to know what happened to Haman?" said Mashymere

"I'm up for it as long as you feel like your ready to tell it," I said

"I feel like I need some closure on it all and I feel ready to tell it from my perspective," said Mashymere

Flashback - June 19th 1 AC

After saying their goodbyes to James, Haman and Mashymere headed to the hanger where their MS awaited them.

"Do you remember the battle plans for this mission, Mashymere," said Haman

"I do, we are to target the New Titans leadership and look to take Command-1 into Dilganese hands," said Mashymere

"Good, I wonder what the post-war world has in store for us," said Haman

"What do you mean," said Mashymere

"Once the war is over, we'll all mostly return back to our normal lives without having to worry about the New Titans or anything similar," said Haman

"I never had a normal life besides living on Axis, I was solider for you and then a glorified security guard for some cult, when you came back for me with the Dilganese, it gave me hope of living a normal life like those people from sitcoms do," said Mashymere

"Peacetime is far more dramatic than any sitcom, my experiences raising James have taught me that," said Haman

"I've heard from somewhere that after you got fired from the Intergalactic Research Organisation, you almost worked yourself to death to make sure James was well looked after," said Mashymere

"I did, there were two reasons why I didn't want James to fight in this war, one of which is of course was due to my experiences in the Neo-Zeon War, but I never told you the other reason," said Haman

"What's the reason," said Mashymere

"Because I never wanted to cause James grief like I did when I was hospitalised from overwork," said Haman

Further Flashback - 8 Years Ago

Haman woke up at 5am which was early for most people, but considering the fact that Haman had to work two jobs to provide for James and herself, it had been a matter of life for her. Although despite going to sleep at 1am and waking up at 5am, Haman would often have bouts of insomnia which came from a mixture of war guilt from her time as Supreme Leader of Neo-Zeon and PTSD from her time on Axis.

Haman would walk downstairs and she would make herself a strong coffee that's she would usually have, but considering that she's beginning to feel more and more tired each day, she would drink the coffee following by either an Monster or a Red Bull which she would take with her antidepressants which she took multiple types as while raising James had faded her nihilism, the guilt of when she was a dictator had manifested into some sort of depression which had caused her to lose sleep and suffer panic attacks and as an result she would gradually become more and more tired as the days went by.

After having her caffeine and antidepressants, Haman would get changed into her work clothes and then woke James up and then went downstairs to watch the news briefly as James got changed and then she would walk James to school before heading to work where she would work as an mall security guard.

Haman would mostly patrol around the mall to make sure that no troublemaker or shoplifter would be present, it was a fairly easy job, but the long hours would take their toll and on this particular day Haman found it difficult to stay awake as her exhaustion had reached a boiling point. As the hours went by, her exhaustion evolved into headaches and then into dizziness before she collapsed in the middle of the mall.

It didn't take long before some passers by spotted Haman who was lying on the ground seemingly unresponsive, it wasn't long before an ambulance arrived which she was rushed into hospital where she was rushed into intensive care.

Meanwhile

James's day had so far gone fairly normally with him having lessons as normal and then break time where he hung around with his friends.

However as he went to sit down at his desk, a PA announcement could be heard over the speaker

"James Pickles, you are to report the principals office immediately"

James got up from his chair, he was nervous as he never got into trouble or got bad grades. He then made a walk down the hallway and arrived at the principals office.

As he arrived, he could see a glum expression on his face which was a sign that something had happened which prompted James to ask "Am I in trouble?".

"You are not James, we've just received a call from the hospital, your mother collapsed at her work and she is currently in Intensive Care," said the principal

James just stood there shocked, he knew his mother was working most of the time, but he didn't realise that she would overwork herself to the point of collapsing in the middle of her job.

"You're allowed to finish early today, I would recommend you to visit your mother in hospital," said the principal

James got up from his chair and ran as fast as he could to the hospital which wasn't far from the school that James was studying and he rushed in like a rampaging bull into the hospitals reception.

"You must be Haman's son, she is currently in Intensive Care, I'll take you to the waiting room outside," said the receptionist as she led James to an waiting room.

James would wait in the waiting room for around an hour, but the hour felt like a day as every minute for James felt like an hour as his grief and worry consumed him as he wasn't sure if his mother was going to make it.

"Is a James Pickles in here," said a doctor who had opened the door of the waiting room.

"I'm here, how is Mom doing," said James worried

"She's currently in a coma as she has suffered from extreme over exhaustion, but her condition is stable," said the doctor

James felt a slight sense of relief that his mother was okay, but his worry hadn't extguinshed as she was still in a coma and anything could happen.

Flashback back to June 19th 1 AC

"I was in a coma for weeks before waking up to a worried James and realised then and there that I needed to pursue a career that I'm capable of doing as well as looking after James and that's how I became a space pilot," said Haman

"That must of worried of James sick," said Mashymere

"It did, he barley left the hospital, he was that worried about my health, it made me realise that I needed to take advantage of my second chance in life," said Haman

Mashymere had began to nervously put his hand in his hand in his pocket where he had planned to propose to Haman before the battle, however as he was about to pull the box out, two pilots approached them.

"Cello, Karn, we've both been assigned to your unit for this mission," said one of the pilots

"Who may you be?" said Haman bluntly

"I am Pilot Lieutenant Billy Crockett and this is my wingman Pilot Lieutenant Ricardo Tubbs Jr, we have been assigned as pilots to your unit for this mission," said Billy

"In that case, prepare your MS, we will leave this ship shortly," said Haman

"Yes M'aam," said both of the pilots as they headed to their MS.

"What do you know about those pilots, Cello," said Haman

"They served in the European theatre until the peace deal with the SGDR and then afterwards fought in the American campaign against the Leni and New Titans forces in the Southern Front, I've heard both of the pilots fathers were Miami police detectives in the 1980s," said Mashymere

"Interesting, have you got any plans for a post-war career, Mashymere," said Haman

"I have applied to work near the California beaches as a Lifeguard, I've even bought a beach house not far from the beaches," said Mashymere

"I could imagine you as a Lifeguard, you were always dedicated in whatever you were doing and saving lives may be your forte," said Haman

"I wanna ask, what are you doing post-war," said Mashymere

"Probably stay as an pilot, I was doing well in that role before Dil dragged me into his mess," said Haman

"Wanna move in with me, like after the war, there are loads of airlines in California and you won't be far from James," said Mashymere

Haman blushed for a moment as she was already in love in Mashymere since they reunited when Haman was retrieving the Key to Time from that cult.

"Are you sure this is you want," said Haman

Mashymere held Haman's hands into his own and said "Let's leave our war torn lives behind and live a peaceful life together on the beach,"

"Okay, I'll be looking forward to it, but first we have a war to win," said Haman as her and Mashymere kissed each other on the lips before Haman headed to her MS.

Mashymere as he began to head to his MS began to feel a rustling sound in his pocket which signalled that he forgot to propose to Haman.

"I'm a donut at times," said Mashymere as he chuckled to himself before entering his MS.

"This is Admiral Haman Karn of the 10th Interstellar Regiment calling in the SPT/AMX-004 Qubeley Custom calling in, sortieing," said Haman as she sortied.

"This is Captain Mashymere Cello of the 10th Interstellar Regiment calling in the AMX-011S Zaku III Custom calling in, sortieing," said Mashymere as he sortied

"This is Senior Lieutenants Ramona and Scott Pilgrim of the 10th Interstellar Regiment calling in both SPT Reptar MK IV's calling in, sortieing," said both Scott and Ramona Pilgrim in unison

"This is Pilot Lieutenant Billy Crockett of the 10th Interstellar Regiment calling in the SPT Reptar Light Armour Duel-Weld, calling in, sortieing," said Billy as he sortied

"This is Pilot Lieutenant Ricardo Tubbs Jr of the 10th Interstellar Regiment calling in the SPT Reptar Heavy Armour, calling in, sortieing," said Ricardo Jr as he sortied.

The six MS move into space in formation as it prepared to lead the assault against the New Titans 1st Core Division which was Takahiko's personal unit as well as the Arima Guard.

"Right, we'll split into 3 pairs, me and Cello will cover the centre, Ramona and Scott you cover the flank towards the fleet and Crockett and Tubbs Jr you two cover the flank towards Command-1," said Haman

"Do you think Takahiko will show in his MS or will cower on his Command ship," said Billy

"He's hates us Zeons, he's bound to show," said Mashymere

"We've got to make it there first," said Haman bluntly

The New Titans began throwing every kind of MS at the Regiment including GM Quels, Hizacks, Tactical GM's and even the odd Barzam.

"Incoming," said Tubbs Jr

"Separate, we'll meet at the rendezvous point near the nearby moon," said Haman

Ramona and Scott broke off and began to fight Titans suits as a team, Scott using his MS's beam saber as well as its rifle to take down various suits, whilst Ramona used a Beam Hammer to send MS flying all over the place.

Tubbs Jr and Billy Crockett fought the Titans suits similarly to how their fathers fought as police detectives with Crockett hitting Titans suits with duel weld beam pistols, whilst Tubbs Jr was mowing down Titans MS with his Bulpulp Rifle.

Haman and Mashymere fought how they usually did with Titans MS, Haman would use her funnels or hand cannon, whilst Mashymere would use his Zaku III rifle or various weapons that the MS had.

After fighting through many New Titans MS, the Regiment rendezvoused at the moon near Command-1.

"I see that we all have made it through, we got to find Takahiko's capital ship, once that's down, the New Titans would be crippled by the loss of their central command structure and would be scattered across the battlefield," said Haman

Suddenly a beam rifle shot hit Scott's MS, destroying it.

"SCOTT," screamed Ramona

Haman turned her MS around to find none other than the Gundam Hazel (Takahiko Custom) which was a Titans experimental MS from before the Gryps War that Takahiko had taken the design prototypes of and created his own MS out of it.

"Takahiko Arima, I knew he would face us head on, follow my lead, he's an experienced Feddie pilot," said Haman

"It's time to settle this, Karn," said Takahiko as his MS prepared its beam sabers.

"Spread out," said Haman as her and Takahiko's MS clashed.

"It's time we finish this," said Takahiko as his MS fell back and fired its beam rifle which Haman dodged every shot.

"The war is nearly over, you've lost, your New Titans are being consigned to the dustbin of history," said Haman as her MS fired its hand cannon which Takahiko dodged every shot and proceeded to focus on fighting the other members of the Regiment.

A vengeful Ramona charged at Takahiko with her MS sledgehammer, but Takahiko managed to dodge her attacks before slicing her MS in half with which meant both of the Pilgrim couple had fallen at Takahiko's hand.

Then Billy and Tubbs Jr encountered Takahiko who rushed at them like a raging bull, Billy managed to damage some of the Hazel's armour with his accurate shooting, but Takahiko managed to overpower them with raw aggression and sudden movements before attempting to slash Billy's MS before Tubbs Jr jumped in the way sacrificing himself to save his partner.

"JR, you monster, I'll avenge him," said Billy angrily as he began firing all of his weapons at Takahiko's MS who was dodging them all with precision.

"Get a hold of yourself, I'll deal with him, focus on his fleet," said Haman

"But..." said Billy before Haman sharply interrupted him

"Focus on the fleet, thats an order," said Haman

"Very well," said Billy

Haman began to pursue Takahiko in order to hunt him down, she had noticed Takahiko had been engaged in combat with Mashymere, but they had gone off somewhere.

"This is Haman Karn coming in to the nearest allied vessel, come in," said Haman

"This is Dango Naval Captain Miku Nakano of DNV Rena Nakano, May I be of some assistance," said Miku

"Locate Mashymere Cello and Takahiko Arima's MS," said Haman

"Locating, their located not far from the main command ship of the New Titans, you may need to take down some New Titans ships on the way," said Miku

"May you provide us with some assistance, we are only down to 3 MS in our regiment," said Haman

"I am limited on what I can provide, but I'll send a small team," said Miku

Haman moved her MS to the co-ordinates that Miku had sent her and managed to bob and weave through various ships, only destroying them if they fired back at her before seeing a MS battle unfold right in front of her eyes.

A Zaku III Custom and Hazel Gundam clashed before her, beam sabers, beam rifles and whatever else they had, Takahiko however was beginning to gain the upper hand through superior training and able to overpower Mashymere for a time. Haman was about to intervene when something sudden happened.

Suddenly beam shot fire could be heard and Haman turned around to find a Brown Coloured Snoopy MS firing its weapons at Takahiko's MS in rage.

"Damn you Father, why did you start this stupid war, why did you let Kaori disappear, you must pay," said an angered Kōusei as he fired every weapon of his MS at his fathers Hazel which caught off guard ended up destroying it. With a sudden burst of rage, the leader of the New Titans was dead.

Haman and Mashymere both looked at Kōusei's MS in just pure shock, both Haman and Mashymere never thought Kōusei would be the one that would slay the Leader of the New Titans whom had been the main instigator of the war that had taken so many lives.

Suddenly a orange light brightened everything around them and a giant being appeared out of nowhere whom began to tear apart nearby New Titans and Dilganese ships which gave the impression that things were getting out of control.

"Haman, we can only stand a chance if we use our Newtype abilities," said Mashymere

"We don't know how powerful this being is, we need to be careful," said Haman

"Come on, we need to for this foe," said Mashymere who had a feeling of what the being was.

Both unleashed their Newtype aura's and charged at the large figure going berserk at the battlefield before a electrical shock sent their MS stumbling away from the figure.

Haman instantly noticed that her MS's power was out as the electrical shock had acted as a EMP towards the Qubeley and Zaku III Custom. She also noticed the mysterious figure getting smaller and smaller and suddenly disappearing

"Damn it, I'm a sitting duck if I don't get the power back on this thing," said Haman as she looked through her MS's controls before finding an Emergency Switch On switch that brought her MS back and running.

As she did, she noticed two things being fired at each other one from Command-1 and the other from the ACS Grandpa Lou Pickles which created a huge explosion before a black hole emerged which began to suck nearby battleships and MS inside of it.

'That black hole is going to destroy everyone if it keeps getting bigger' thought Haman

"Mashymere, are you okay, have you managed to get your systems back running," said Haman concerned

"I have, that is a very large black hole, I suggest we retreat if we want to make it out alive," said Mashymere

Haman stopped as her mind was taking in all that was happening, the black hole was caused by most likely a collision of both the Key to Time and Pester's superweapon and it's effects could be first seen as dozens of New Titans, Dilganese, Dango and even SGDR warships were being sucked in and destroyed. Haman knew that if the black hole countined to expand, it would engulf the entirety of the Dilganese Empire and its surrounding neighbours destroying anything it would come to contact with.

"Maybe if I could take everyone back to my dimension and escape this carnage, the problem could be solved," said Haman to herself

Haman felt like she had been transported to a different place where was nothing but white everywhere.

"Wouldn't that be running away from your problems like I did"

"Char, I don't know if it would be called running away, more like relocating everyone," said Haman shocked

"Even so, what makes you think they won't feel like refugees, for them that home has been most of their lives, would you really deprive them of that," said Char/Quattro

"What other choice do I have," said Haman

"I feel in order for the Empire to be saved, a sacrifice has to be made to save everyone from the black hole," said Char/Amuro

"Are you saying that I would be the sacrifice," said Haman

"Your the only one that could stop it, I'm gone, Amuro's too far away and you wouldn't want James to be the sacrifice," said Char/Amuro

"What could I do to stop it," said Haman

"You know deep down what you need to to do," said Char's voice as it began to fade

"Char, what do I need to do," said Haman in an pleading tone.

"That honour you have, Why couldn't you have used it more wisely?" said an another voice

"Judau," said Haman even more shocked

Unlike Char, all Haman could see or hear was a voice as unlike Char, Judau was still alive and still in the Universal Century.

"I see that you finally joined the light side, never thought I would see the day," said Judau

"I never thought I would hear your voice again," said Haman

"To be fair, I was surprised to hear that not only did you survive, but also managed to atone for your actions during the war and tried to live a normal life," said Judau

"I tried to live a normal life, that is until James's father came back and sucked me and James into this wretched war," said Haman

"I heard that you have a son from someone close to you, what's he like" said Judau

"He's a good kid who I wish lives a peaceful life once this dreaded war is over, who told you that I had a son," said Haman

"That would be me, I bumped into Judau on Jupiter when I briefly worked as a Space Merchant," said none other than Serrana Karn, Haman's younger sister and like Judau, was also still alive in the Universal Century.

"Serrana, I guess I told you when we speak to each other sometimes in our dreams, but I never knew you bumped into Judau," said Haman

"We did briefly when I had to go to Jupiter to drop some supplies off, I've also heard that your stuck in a bit of a quagmire," said Serrana

"Yeah I don't know what to do, a huge black hole has been created and it risks destroying everything including the Dilganese Empire including James who's very likely to get caught up in it," said Haman sounding extremely worried

"Haman, do you want to know why I continued to fight you even after I got sucked into the First Neo-Zeon War," said Judau

"I want to know why," said Haman

"Because one of your goons kidnapped my sister Leina and I had to fight you and your goons to get her back," said Judau

"I remember, I do apologise for accidentally shooting her in the shoulder, she wasn't my intended target," said Haman

"I figured your target was me, but she's still my sister and when you accidentally shot her, that was the most angry I had ever been," said Judau

"I understand, Leina's your sister after all, I definitely wasn't in a good place back then, both mentally and physically," said Haman

"Reflecting on back then, I could sense you were definitely not all there, but going back to what I was about to say, you know how I fought you in order to save my sister from that Glemy bastard," said Judau

"Yeah," said Haman

"I was thinking, why not you fight that black hole for James," said Judau

"How," said Haman

"You're a Newtype sis, you're capable of closing that Black Hole through sheer will," said Serrana

"Do you think it'll be possible, it's a massive black hole," said Haman

"Anything is possible, you just have to believe in yourself," said Serrana

"Fight for the future, Fight for James's future, that's what you can do, with the honour you have, you'll be able to not only fully redeem yourself, but in the eyes of what will become the Alien Republic, you could become a hero," said Judau as Haman snapped back into reality as she appeared back in her cockpit as she could see the black hole slowly getting bigger and bigger.

"Haman-sama we need to retreat if we want to survive," said Mashymere in a pleading tone

"Cello, I want you to retreat back to the Phantom, the war should be over by the time you arrive," said Haman

"What about you," said Mashymere

"I'm going to stop the Black Hole and save everyone, go Mashymere, live a good life," said Haman as she cut off her feed from Mashymere's Zaku III Custom

"System, comm James Pickles," said Haman to which her's MS's system obliged and Haman had opened a communication channel with her sons personal communicator

"This is Captain James Pickles of the ACS Grandpa Lou Pickles speaking," James spoke as formally as he could

"James, its good to speak to you again," said Haman

"Mother, I see you made it out," said James

"Not necessarily, which is why I'm calling your comms, I have come to an decision," said Haman

"What sort of decision," said James

"The black hole is going to continue expanding until it'll engulf the entire Dilganese Empire, I'm going to try and stop it," said Haman

"What are you planning on doing," said James

"I'm going to use my Newtype pressure to seal the Black Hole downwards which means I'm going to go with it to save everyone," said Haman

"Why, why not come back to the ship, the war is over," said James

"Because there won't be anything to return to if I don't try to stop this Black Hole, James I want you to promise me one thing," said Haman

"What's that," said James

"Have a good life and be the master of your own destiny, you were the greatest son that a mother could ever ask for and I am and always will be proud of you, goodbye James," said Haman as she regrettably turned off her comms.

A small tear flowed through Haman's eye as she realised if she did close the black hole, she would be sucked in and would never get to see James grow up to adulthood, watch James get married most likely to Yasako or meet any of her grandchildren, she didn't even know that she would even survive as Black Hole's were very dangerous to physically engage with due to both the pressure and time manipulation that could crush someone if not careful. However at the same time Haman felt like she was the only one that could do anything to save everyone including her lover Mashymere and her son James which prompted her to make her decision.

Haman unleashed her Newtype aura to its absolute limit where both herself and her Qubeley was surrounded by a bright pink aura coupled with the heaviest Newtype pressure that she had ever unleashed and charged directly at the black hole.

As she arrived, time began to slow down as the black hole began to take its effect on Haman and her MS, but despite all this Haman began to seal the hole which her pressure was sealing it only gradually as the black hole was a large one and was still expanding despite Haman's pressure.

"At this rate, I'll be in the event point horizon by the time it's sealed," said Haman to herself

Suddenly Haman spotted Command-1 flying towards the black hole.

"Maybe that's the key to stop it after all," said Haman as she began to envelop her Newtype energy through her MS and Command-1 and throwing it towards the black hole which began to seal it even more before Command-1 flew into the Qubeley which caused them to enter the black hole and with the impact of the collision combined with the large amount of Newtype energy, the black hole was sealed with Haman and whoever drove Command-1 into the black hole disappear.

Meanwhile

Mashymere had just arrived at the ACS Phantom with his MS and was heading towards the Command Bridge when Lieutenant Doug Funnie stopped him before reaching the bridge.

"Cello, the black hole has been sealed, the war is over," said Doug

"What about Haman," said Mashymere

"Her communications have been disabled and her location along with Command-1 has been unreachable since the black hole was sealed," said Doug

Mashymere expression turned to anger before saying "Have you tried everything, emergency communications, audio only mode or fuck even Find my IPhone," said Mashymere

"I'm sorry Mashymere, but Haman has gone, she went with the black hole, I'm so sorry," said Doug as he left Mashymere who was just stood in a corridor in shock.

Cello's legs began to shake as the gravity of what just happened hit him, he was hoping to start a peaceful new life with Haman after the war was over and now that had gone as Haman had sacrificed herself to save everyone and Mashymere had to now figure out how to live a peaceful life alone with only a handful of people that would be able to help him

End of Flashback - Back to John Stason's POV

"And that was the end of the war, I lost my lover and have lived here ever since," said Mashymere

"What did you do after the war," I said

"What I'm doing now, although now I'm a Senior Lifeguard, might be fairly low paying, but I prefer a more free life rather than one bogged down in an office," said Mashymere

"Do you miss Haman," I asked

"Of course I do, truthfully I would exchanged all of this just to see her again, even for one day," said Mashymere

"It's unknown to what happened to Haman and whoever was on Command-1 at the time, despite being officially classed as Presumed Dead and their names being on the War Memorial, there are many people that believe they are still alive, what's your belief," I said

"I still believe Haman is out there, possibly in an another dimension or universe miles away, considering the fast advancement of technology I don't think it'll be long until we can locate her," said Mashymere

"Black hole's though are notoriously hard to track an end point, it could even be endless and Haman could of simply died in the endless loop of the black hole," I said

"That could be a possibility, although I wouldn't like to think about it," said Mashymere

"If she did come back, she would definitely enjoy the view of the sea from here, it looks amazing," I said

"That's why I picked this place, she would of loved the calmness and serenity of this place, I'm going surfing in a bit, but I'll give you some contact information that may help with your research," said Mashymere as he hands me a written piece of paper.

"Thank you," I said as he left the building with his surf board

I took the contact details and left the building to talk to the next person related to my research which was none other than Charlie Miyazono Pickles himself until I received a sudden phone call.

A few days later

Mashymere would wake up at around 9am as despite the weather remaining warm despite the season (due to living in a warm area), the sun wouldn't rise until around 8am and it was Mashymere's day off and like most days he decided to go surfing.

He grabbed his black and gold surf board and headed towards the centre of the beach where all of the big waves were at and would ride them all day with his surfboard as usual, despite being in his 50s Mashymere still was athletic enough to perform impressive moves that would wow beachgoers.

Mashymere would finish up with the surfing at around lunchtime before heading to the cafe that he usually went to for a Club Sandwich and a Long Island Ice Tea and was sat down at the bar.

"Your usual, Cello," said the barman

"Yeah, I'll have my usual, some good waves out there today," said Mashymere

"You looked good out there as usual, I say you have some fans," said the barman

"Fans???," said Mashymere confused

"That lady over there has been raving all about your surfing skills," said the barman pointing at a woman wearing a large straw hat with a blue and white striped top, jeans and white and pink sandles.

Mashymere went over to sit down to where the lady was, as he sat down, she spoke

"Mashymere Cello, it's been a very long time," said the woman who revealed herself to be none over than his long-lost lover Haman Karn who he hadn't seen since the Battle of Command-1 which was 20 years ago, Haman's look had only changed slightly since back then, she had grey patches at the bottom of her mostly pink hair as well as her face slightly ageing, but besides that she looked mostly the same as she did all those years ago.

"Haman-sama, it's been a long time," said Mashymere who was just in shock as the moment that he had waited for so many years had finally come true. They didn't speak for a few minutes before both of them hugged and cried as they hugged for a while before Mashymere spoke.

"Where have you been since the war," said Mashymere

"It's a very long story, let's say being thrown about in different time periods would best describe it," said Haman

"At least you here," said Mashymere

"Although I'm not the only one that has been thrown back into this place," said Haman
