No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2
Chapter 12: Wide-Eyed, Wrapped in Love (Part 2)
Victor literally gasped when he saw Tony. The baby Strange had always admired him, so his jaw just hit the deck.
He actually considered himself to be semi-sorta jealous of Tony Stark for a while there. Victor knew it was a confidence thing, and a communication thing. When Ezekiel was injured, he seemed more comfortable with Tony back in the day.
Christ.
Victor had to close his eyes for a moment. Memories plagued his baby brain, so he had to attempt some form of control. His brother was fixated on Tony, so Victor figured his sudden exit from the scene most likely went unnoticed.
Tony told the audience to prepare themselves, because he had plans to mess around with their blood pressure and adrenaline. He looked pretty cool up there. Victor opened one of his eyes when Tony introduced his grand plan to the people in the room.
He didn't say much and it seemed like the music and sounds were coming directly from him. Victor pondered that for a moment, but then…
…
Victor glanced upward and toward his left. Holy friggen Christ he forced his eyes to close yet again, because of course his self fucking control was a failure once again. Ezekiel was positioned toward his left.
He was studying Tony's musical endeavor, while having his suit monitor the crowd. There was some imagery on the back part of the stage for the crowd to see. Ezekiel noticed an image flash before the audience a couple times.
Tony Stark was telling everyone an interesting little story. Ezekiel could tell and it pulled his focus more toward the stage. One of his "teammates" asked a question over their communication link.
Agent Romanoff asked if she should remain stationed with Maria Stark, or change to her original position. Her original post was toward the left of Wade Wilson.
Ezekiel glanced behind his own shoulder for a moment. The "White Jackal" almost ignored the question, because Natasha's position was technically irrelevant.
She could see the stage and the audience from either location, so Ezekiel figured it was a communication test.
"Either location works,Natasha."
Ezekiel played nice, then he returned his focus toward the stage. Obviously, Tony was using music to explain something to all of them.
Part of his act included some interesting imagery in the background. Ezekiel noticed a stern presence of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents flashing between some sort of club scene.
Tony was very clever with his little visuals. Ezekiel noticed Howard Stark's workspace as it flashed about a few times. He also saw his own father's image, and an old house that was burnt to the ground.
The spectacle became a bit more amusing than Ezekiel had expected. He began to wonder if they were being shown some of Tony's actual memories.
Ezekiel was technically present for most of them, so it all seemed a bit too familiar and overwhelming.
A definite "adrenaline rush" was working it's way over Ezekiel's nervous system, so he looked around for something to calm him down.
He noticed Victor first, toward his right.
Victor looked away quickly. He seemed unsure and confused. The startled expression Ezekiel saw was constant when it came to Victor Strange, so he returned his focus toward Tony's clever little show.
Tony was producing the music from his translucent suit. A voice would project from it as well, and all of that intrigued Obadiah's son.
