No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 25:Silver Poetry (Part 5)

Victor Strange remained in the bar with a certain crime lord… and he picked up on a couple unspoken social cues going on between them. His "Lessons in Love" were ever-evolving, and he also noticed the conversation was getting easier.

He started looking at Ezekiel's clothes a bit more too, and Stephen's baby brother had to comment on them after a while.

"Did you fall into Steve's closet, or something?" Victor chuckled a little as he spoke. He held a small smile as he stared at Ezekiel's shirt.

Obadiah Stane's somber son glanced down at the clothing that covered his skin. Normally, he'd be hiding himself beneath a grandiose chess piece of a suit…

He studied his own clothing, then he noticed Victor was sitting closer than he was before. Victor's mood was shifting, but Ezekiel was familiar with that.

"What do you mean? This gear and the clothes I'm wearing were given to me at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base."

"I meannn.. it looks like you've borrowed clothes from either Steve or Bucky. You're really starting to admire them, aren't you?"

Victor wanted to talk about it. He kept smiling too. The subject was distracting him from all the other stuff they could talk about.

Victor inwardly noted that they COULD be talking about a torched home, some relocated belongings, Ezekiel obviously hooking up with Wade Wilson, or a former friendly roommate/boyfriend who recently ditched him….

Some of the subjects were tempting to bring up, but Victor settled on Ezekiel's clothing.

His entire tactical look and leader-like personality was new and, different. It felt like Ezekiel was all grown up, maturing, or whatever..

Victor swallowed down his thought, because he kind of wanted to explore it. Ezekiel on the other hand, felt a bit puzzled after he heard Victor's implication that he was "admiring" Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers.

A notion like that had never crossed the "White Jackal's" young mind.

He glanced up at Victor Strange, then he slowly looked away and he finished his drink. Ezekiel's tolerance for alcohol rivaled, but also paralleled his dead father.

They both witnessed and counted upon the abuse of alcohol that took place in the Stark family. Obadiah used it against Howard, and they both utilized it against Tony..

Something as trivial as alcohol only affected Ezekiel if he wanted it too, so..

Victor's playful smile was infective. Ezekiel thought of that as his mind re-visited his question. The Jackal folded up his leather wallet, then he placed in the front pocket of his "tactical" vest.

"I think, I'm only trying to impress you. Is it working?"

Ezekiel told a joke. Inwardly, he didn't put garments on his body to impress anyone. He watched Victor roll his eyes a little after his response.

Stephen's baby brother was playful about it, but he could read Ezekiel's face. His tone, all of it. He might not have intentionally dressed himself to impress anyone, but he was impressing, someone, everyone…

"It's working. But, you've been impressing other people too. I'm not the only one."

Victor closed his eyes a little as if he were in pain. In a way, he was bringing up Wade Wilson's humor, his obvious charm, and his psycho shit.

Bringing up anything relating to whatever the fuhhhhkkk happened between Ezekiel and "Deadpool" was similar to opening a river of darkness that Victor didn't want to see. He was avoidant about it, but he knew…

If he only knew…

Ezekiel was listening and trying to hear what Victor was saying. He was looking at Victor and trying to see what he was trying to communicate to him.

Obadiah's damaged son heard the words that were said, and he physically witnessed the person's behavior in front of him. He never spoke about it, but he also took that moment to utilize a gift that was given to him by Tony Stark.

Not too long ago, Tony gave Ezekiel Stane an Infinity Stone, and with it, he gave him the ability to understand and control the mind. Ezekiel had the Mind Stone in his possession, but it was concealed.

"Wade Wilson is an interesting distraction, but that's all it is."

Maybe. Ezekiel's tone was normally ruthless. He spoke coldly in that moment, because he had some things to process when it came to the time he spent with Deadpool.

The mercenary offered up a bit more than his services, and Ezekiel decided to capitalize on it. There were things he liked and disliked about their frequent ….

Ezekiel cleared his throat a little, then he glanced over at the front door to the bar. His mind was winding down, and the somber jackal contemplated his next move.

Victor became a little more than silent after he heard what Ezekiel told him. Victor remembered a conversation between them about "distractions"…

Some crime lord told him that he didn't want to be distracted anymore, so Victor briefly closed his eyes again.

"Wade doesn't know it, but he's been on a mission to dominate me. I've indulged him, but I prefer being with you."

Ezekiel felt like clarifying what was said in an effort to clear things up. Victor sat up a little as he processed the information Ezekiel shared with him.

Victor was hearing the crime lord before him confess some pretty intimate details about his recent "distraction"… The baby Strange swallowed again and he slowly glanced up at Ezekiel.

Wade wanted to…. dominate him? The subject matter had Victor's face all flared up. His body felt super warm, and..

"Can I walk you home? I'd like to head outside."

Ezekiel spoke out his thought. He wanted to head out and get some cool air. Confessing his thoughts about his time spent with Wade had warmed up his soul as well.

The truth was, Victor Strange was correct with his initial observation. Steve Rogers was a person who Ezekiel greatly admired, and in that moment, Ezekiel realized he was dressed like him.
He didn't do it on purpose, but he wanted to be like Steve, and behave just like Steve. Being with Wade Wilson was impacting that, and Ezekiel was afraid he'd revert back to behaving like his old self. Maybe. His thought on that were in progress.

He was beginning to like himself, and life was getting easier for him. Obadiah's son felt a little more than ready to revisit whatever it was he was building with Victor Strange.

The baby sorcerer took a moment to process. He blinked his eyes more than a few times, but then he hopped up from his seat.

"I'm, uhmaa, I'm ready when you are." Victor felt super awkward and cheesy when he responded, but he noticed Ezekiel gently smiled.
