No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 37: Sunset (Part 7)

"So, what exactly is a Sorcerer Supreme?"

Ezekiel was curious. The title was kind of obvious, but Ezekiel began to wonder why there seemed to be so much conflict relating to Victor "training" and taking on the role of the Sorcerer Supreme. There seemed to be some sort of issue, or complication. Obadiah's son was very new to the world of the Mystic Arts, so he waited for Victor to fill him in.

The baby Strange took a second to respond. He remembered his brother's behavior after he first returned from the Dark Dimension. Stephen was lost out there, thanks to Agamotto, and he took on the role or the Sorcerer Supreme pretty quickly after he returned. Victor remembered how different, and powerful, Stephen became.

He glanced in Ezekiel's direction eventually, then the baby sorcerer swallowed down his soul. That ex-boyfriend/crime lord was looking directly at him, so Victor's body flustered up with heat. His anxiety built up a bit in that moment, then Victor powered through and responded to the question.

"Well, the…someone is granted the title of Sorcerer Supreme when they've mastered the Mystic Arts, oh, and their skills are greater than all the others. There's a ton of documentation about it. I can show you."

Ezekiel listened to Victor's first explanation and he took note of the way he was behaving. The baby Strange looked pretty flustered, and Ezekiel had seen it all before. He wasn't intending to get Victor all stirred up, but at the same time, Obadiah's son was expecting it.

"The existing Sorcerer Supreme also has the ability to hand the title over to someone that is declared worthy of it. That's what my brother did. He bestowed his title, to me."

Victor made sure to use the official language. His older brother spoke to him about it at least a million times. Victor thought about Stephen for a moment as Ezekiel processed what he heard. Victor's mood became a bit melancholy once Stephen became the focus of their conversation. Ezekiel thought for a moment that he could feel the change in Victor's mood. He glanced down at Victor's left arm..

Ezekiel wanted to comfort him in that moment, so he thought about borrowing Steve's behavior once again. He wanted to touch his arms, but he remembered Donna's unfortunate rule.

"So, your brother has already done this? You are officially the Sorcerer Supreme?"

Ezekiel was a little confused about that. He watched Victor nod his head a couple times. The role, or "title" of Sorcerer Supreme was officially passed over, and Victor was just about to explain that his siblings were just being over cautious. In Victor's mind, they were assuming the worst and they wanted him to work on his skills and abilities.

It made sense, but, whatever..

"Then, why can't you just shut down what your sister has done? If you're the Sorcerer Supreme, cancel out what she did."

There was almost a shrug behind Ezekiel's comment about Donna's rule. He figured Victor already had the means to put his older sister in her place. Ezekiel inwardly wanted to see it happen. He wanted Victor to take control. That was something everyone seemed to want, so the Baby Strange gently smiled. Having the role of "Sorcerer Supreme" was still super new to him, but he started giving what Ezekiel said some thought.

The baby Strange bit his bottom lip. He pondered what he heard, then he glanced up at Ezekiel's face. Obadiah's son seemed to be studying him, or something. It made Victor feel good, and noticed, by someone that he cared for more than anything.

"I…channeling something called Oshtur would cancel her out. I could ask Oshtur. I know how to talk to the Vishanti Trio."

Victor learned that years ago, and he also knew that two Vishanti hosts were right there at the Kamar taj. Victor glanced in the direction where Hoggoth and Oshtur's energy was hiding. They were hiding within Tony and Steve, and Ezekiel was following along more than Victor knew. Obadiah's son knew about the Vishanti trio, but he was unaware how deeply intertwined it was with the Sorcerer Supreme.

In that moment, Tony was pretty wrapped up in the attention he was getting from Steve. They were finally alone, until Victor's request reached Steve's good natured soul. The blonde stepped back from his kiss with Tony, then he glanced down at his chest. Tony noticed that Steve's chest was glowing bright blue beneath his clothes, so he kept staring.

Victor was requesting some energy. He wanted to borrow what he needed from Steve in order to cancel everything his sister dished out. Steve's smile grew a bit bigger as he processed Victor's adorable request. He was just telling Tony that Victor and Ezekiel reminded him of their relationship, but he didn't finish his thought. Before they started dating, Steve explained that he and Tony behaved in a similar way.

After a sec, Tony's mood became a bit melancholy.

He kept staring at Steve's glowing chest. That golden thing became preoccupied with Victor's request, and Tony felt a sudden sting. The feisty inventor felt like he couldn't have a friggen moment... Someone was always pulling Steve away. Tony realized a thing or two when that sunshine looked back in his direction, but he went back to waiting for Steve to see.

Tony starting thinking that the blonde in front of him could be a total blonde… sometimes.
