No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 39: Sunset (Part 9)

Victor Strange was rejoicing and laughing at his older sister one minute, then his ass was on the ground and he felt like he was frozen stiff the next.

Communicating with Oshtur and borrowing ancient abilities apparently came with some body-shocking consequences. Victor missed the memo on that, but he figured it out right off the bat.

Victor suddenly collapsed, and Ezekiel actually freaked out. He wasn't expecting to see Victor drop to his knees at all…

Bucky noticed the panic. There was definitely a rush coming from Obadiah Stane's somber baby boy when he entered the room. He told Donna what happened, but the sister behaved as if she already knew. Donna barely said anything as she made her way to Victor.

An explanation about his condition came from Steve Rogers a short while later. Everyone joined the party, and Ezekiel was being informed that he would be fine.

"Oshtur utilizes wind elements, and it can get pretty cold. All Victor really needs is a steaming hot bath. He'll be fine."

Steve gave Ezekiel a pat on the back and it was, interesting. Tony watched as Obadiah's son stared at the floor. He didn't expect the fatherly "pat on the back" from Steve either, so he wasn't sure how to react. Victor was taken down a long hallway. Ezekiel felt alone for a moment, until the conversation gradually continued.

"I need to finish the amulet. Victor's obviously going to need it."

Tony's voice broke the silence. He was clearly speaking to Steve, and he mentioned that the amulet was going to behave as a filter. Apparently, the Eye of Agamotto operated in that way for Stephen Strange. Ezekiel was listening to what Tony was saying, but he kept staring down the long hallway. When Victor Strange touched his hands earlier, a river of feels struck Ezekiel to the core.

He realized a few things, then suddenly Victor was almost face first in the dirt. Ezekiel hated experiencing that. He never felt prepared, and it bothered him. The "White Jackal" kept his thoughts to himself, then he heard Tony nonchalantly telling Steve Rogers that he needed to leave. Ezekiel froze up for just a moment, then he looked toward his right.

Obadiah's son had witnessed Tony and Steve's behavior countless times. He could tell that Steve didn't want Tony to leave, and he watched him touch his arms. Ezekiel tried not to watch, and Tony tried not to draw it out. He had to go, so he abandoned Steve for his lab. Tony left the blonde all hot and bothered, and it was amusing…

Just kidding, Steve was the king of controlling himself. The soldier just gave Tony a small wave, and that was that. Steve turned his focus back to the only two people that were left in the hallway. Ezekiel Stane and Bucky Barnes were left behind to process the situation, so Steve took a moment to study them both.

Victor was taken to the bath house. Donna had it all cleared out, then she had her brother tossed into the deepest pit. She watched her baby brother yell his head off when his body reached the water. She slowly smiled….

His smart ass move of cancelling out her spell was going to cost him. Donna inwardly changed her mind about several things as she processed what he did. Victor's clothes were soaked, and so was his soul. He eventually recovered from Oshtur's abilities passing through his body, then his baby rage quickly returned to him. He kept his body in the boiling hot water, but his eyes were locked onto his older sister.

Victor wanted to yell at her, or yank her down into the hot water. His soul was screaming in that moment, thanks to her. She didn't HAVE to set any bullshit rule for him to break. Victor was thinking it all over. He watched his sister take a few steps around the pit.

"So, you think you've got this allllll figured out. Don't you?"

Victor held an annoyed expression. His sister said something that BUGGED and he did his best to ignore it. Victor Strange rolled his eyes around thirty times that day. The baby sorcerer calculated it as his sister spoke.

"You can't just ASK Osthur for a favor, Victor. Your body has to actually align with the Vishanti… just like Steve, Tony and our brother."

Duh. Donna Strange rolled her eyes at least a dozen more times than Victor could possibly count. She did the math on that as well, and she felt like she towered over her baby brother when it came down to dishing out sarcasm. Her mind slipped away after a minute, because she wondered who of the group went in which direction. Victor noticed her distraction and he almost pounced. Victor wanted to grab her ankle and yank her down as hard as he could.

The baby Strange resisted tho, for the moment, because his sister started yapping at him once again.

"I've decided to do something, and I know you're going to hate me for it. I'll give you all day tomorrow to introduce your boyfriend to the library here. After that, he trains exclusively with Steve Rogers. Got it?"

Boyfriend. Ezekiel. Donna decided to finally give that poor thing the title. The sister felt like she had witnessed her brother treat Ezekiel like SHIT for way too long.

Donna never forgot how Victor behaved, and she was surprised that the young man still cared for her brother. She waited for Victor to speak. After a while, she gave up and filled him in about the rest of her plan.

"Since you're so ready to be the Sorcerer Supreme, and you're such a Mystic Arts expert, after tomorrow, you will begin training someone else. This person is going to test you in ways you can't possibly fathom, so get ready little brother."

Donna was very upset with him, and Victor began to take notice. He didn't CARE if his sister was pissed off at him. He felt ready in that moment to rip her down from her tall tower. Her last comment distracted him from his plan, and his ears perked up when she said he'd be training someone else. He officially lost his opportunity to train Ezekiel, so Victor started staring down at the water beneath his chin.

"WHO IS IT, DONNA?"

Victor almost saidBITCH, but he quickly bit his lip. His baby mind listed off a few people that came to his mind. He thought of several people that would be hard to train. Wait who, Wong? Victor almost laughed after that. His eyes migrated up toward his sister again. Victor inwardly thought that his sister was out for blood, so he hoped she didn't do anything stupid.

"You better not bring Clint Barton here. I'm not in the mood to deal with any of that…"

Victor had to wonder, did his sister even KNOW what just happened between him and his ex-friendly roommate/boyfriend? SHE WAS THE ONE THAT SET THEM UP, AGES AGO, AND NOW SHE DIDN'T KNOW SHIT. Victor started thinking about how judgmental she was being towards him in that moment too. He actually wanted to spit some of the steaming hot bath water in her face. The bath water was super-gross tho, so Victor decided against it.

"After tomorrow, I will be bringing Wade Wilson here for you to train. I've already spoken to Steve about it, so have a wonderful day with Ezekiel tomorrow, little brother."

Donna decided to hit her brother exactly where it hurt, then she left him alone in the damn bath house. Donna even slammed the door shut on him and Victor stared blankly down at the water. His body, soul, brain, and heart began to process his sister's response… and for him, it wasn't funny at all. Wade FUCKING Wilson was the last name Victor Strange ever wanted to hear.

….

…..

Victor…. hated… him…

….

…..

His inner rage was making the water boil up even hotter. Victor was still processing, and he was inwardly hoping what she said was a joke. Her plan was borderline diabolical, so Victor almost screamed in that moment.

He almost screamed, because seeing Wade Wilson again was the FUCKING worst.
