No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2
Chapter 58: Istanbul(Part 8)
Victor Strange wasn't sure what to expect from Wong and his sister, but he followed them into the main council room when they told him to do so.
The baby Strange didn't offer up any excuses for what happened to the Kamar taj once he was in the room with them. He only told them the truth, because he wasn't thinking about the buildings at all.
Shutting up Wade Wilson dominated his thoughts, and his body just took over… It escalated quickly, and Victor actually started having fun with it. It felt like an actual game of tag took place, but he wasn't about to admit that to Donna and Wong.
"Would you like some tea, Victor?"
Tea? What the… the youngest member of the Strange family brought his focus up from the floor. His eyes settled quickly on his older sister. She was the person who asked him if he wanted tea. The notion was hella random, so Victor gave her a confused look.
He was expecting a lecture from his sister, and Wong, not a cup of tea. Donna walked up to her "baby" brother. She stood before him and she held out the cup of tea for him to take.
Victor hesitated for a moment, but he brought his hand up to the small cup. He accepted what was offered, and Donna took in a slow breath.
"Throughout history, the Kamar taj has been damaged countless times. We have a detailed record of what's been built here, to repair it…"
Sure, what she witnessed was shocking, and annoying, but the training grounds were ancient. The foundation of the Kamar taj had endured multiple wars, and underwent several relentless sieges back in the day.
The physical damage caused by Victor, Wade and Ezekiel was nothing in comparison to what the training grounds had been through in the past. So, Wong and Donna were more concerned with something else getting damaged. The two of them agreed that repairing their connection with Victor was their top priority going forward.
"Oh. That makes sense. We'll fix it tho, if you show me the plans."
Victor sipped on the tea that was offered. Things felt pretty awkward for him, so he glanced back down at one of the ancient rugs. Donna caught the drift. She was more interested in fixing the communication she had going on with her little brother.
Victor meant the world to her, and she didn't want him losing sight of that.
Their communication had been on the rocks since the day Victor met Ezekiel Stane. Her brother started hiding things from the entire family, and he never opened up to her or Stephen about how he was feeling.
The older siblings were waiting for Victor to open up to them about Ezekiel, but it never happened. She glanced over at Wong, and she handed him a cup of tea. Donna prepared herself a cup to consume, then her focus returned to her brother.
"You obviously survived an encounter with Wade Wilson, so there's a silver lining to all the damage that was done."
Victor just about choked on his tea when he heard his sister. It was technically a compliment, but something about it amused the baby Sorcerer Supreme. He inwardly thought Wade was a crazy moron, and Victor was immediately reminded of his ridiculous antics and singing.
"And, having Ezekiel's support here is another silver lining for you. Correct?"
Uhhhh… Victor just about choked again. His sister brought up a certain crime lord, and his soul clammed up as a result. Victor's nerves went haywire for a sec. He forgot to breathe and he drank down the rest of his tea.
It was a simple remark, so Donna didn't expect such an animated reaction. Victor seemed very affected when she casually dropped Ezekiel's name.
"Yup. He's… that's a silver lining. His help, I mean?"
Victor forced his eyes to closeeeeee. He wasn't sure why his sister was being all nice. WONG was never nice, so the baby Strange had to wonder. He opened up his left eye, and he noticed that his sister slowly crossed up her arms.
She was testing the waters, and she thought about throwing a curve ball at her brother to shake out some truth. Her brother was both a failure and an expert at hiding his connection with Ezekiel, and it was beginning to drive Donna insane.
"Well, I'm glad they're both here for you. Didn't they start… dating, or something? I swear I heard a rumor about that."
…
"No."
….
They weren't friggen dating. Oh HELLL NO. Victor gave that subject a one word response, then he put his hand out toward his sister. He was done with his cup of tea, and the reason he hated Wade psycho fuhkkk Wilson suddenly returned to him.
"Oh? My mistake. Wong has the plans for you, so you three can correct what you did."
Donna took that cup from Victor's hand. Her kind gesture and patience had reached its end, so the sister turned her back on the entire conversation.
She didn't mention Wade and Ezekiel to be cruel. Donna brought it up, so Victor would HOPEFULLY use his brain a bit more when it came down to Ezekiel being there….
Also because, she knew the truth. He left Victor, he was with Wade, and there was nothing wrong with that.
Victor treated Ezekiel terribly, and Donna thought her brother needed to finally get a clue.
