No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 64: Sorcerer Supreme (Part 4)

Victor and Tony's conversation carried on for quite a while. The Sorcerer Supreme ended up laying down in the tall grass alongside Tony and Hoggoth.

The tiger kitty let Victor lay down beside him, and eventually he got to pet his pretty fur. Victor was surprised to find that he really wasn't petting a physical beast. Tony told him that he was feeling energy. It was still super cool tho, so Victor's smile was wide. Oh yeah, they spoke about Ezekiel's connection to Wade….

Victor had to swallow down what he heard, because Tony reported that Ezekiel viewed his feelings for the mercenary to be a work in progress. Tony clarified that the "White Jackal" was attracted to the loudmouth mercenary, but he was also processing how he felt, and how to move forward. OK, great. Yeah. Wonderful. Victor got even more petty, and he eventually asked Tony to explain if HE was also considered to be a "work in progress."

"Ezekiel adores you. He tells himself all the time that he's afraid to be away from you. Vic, you have more of an affect on him than you know."

Tony wanted to make sure he made himself crystal clear on that one. He didn't want Victor thinking that Wade Wilson was about to steal Ezekiel away, or whatever. A work in progress meant a number of things. Tony Stark had some advice in that regard, but he decided to hold onto it for the moment.

Petting Hoggoth became addicting. Tony even rolled around with the beast after a while. He was happy to do that, because growing up he wasn't allowed to have pets. His gizmos and gadgets were more like pets. Later on it was cars, and eventually people. Hah. Tony laughed at his inner thought, then he glanced back over in Victor's direction.

The baby sorcerer enjoyed hearing that he was adored. He thought about his recent visit to Ezekiel's home, and the morning they spent together. Pesky thoughts about WADE PSYCHO FUHHHKK WILSON crept back into his soul soon after, so Victor closed his eyes and he let out an exhaustive sigh.

"You know, I dumped Steve Rogers once… and it felt pretty good."

Tony was about to offer up his advice, and bringing up the time he dumped Steve was part of the plan. Victor just about choked after he heard what Tony said. He sat up and choked down a response. DUMPED STEVE? What in the world… Victor had to laugh. He gave Tony a super serious look. In that moment, the baby Strange found that hard to imagine. He wanted an explanation, pronto.

"Wait, I've dumped him twice, technically? I gave up being with him around the time I first met you. Remember when we all crashed at the Kamar taj?"

Tony did the math. Victor was 15 back then, and he was just as adorable as he was in that moment. Victor returned to his position on the ground, and he thought over his first encounter there at the Kamar taj. His brother was, tortured.. Stephen was physically and mentally tormented by an older version of himself. Victor remembered the older Stephen vividly, and it was something he didn't care to recall.

"I remember. Wait, you dumped Steve way back then?"

"Well, we weren't technically dating at the time, BUT the blondie was having somework in progressfeelings toward his dumbass best friend. I told Steve to go figure it out….."

Tony let him go. His point was slowly circling back to Victor's current situation, and the brunette could tell that the Sorcerer Supreme had already gotten the hint. He glanced over at Tony, because he was sure that there was going to be more to the story. Victor also recalled the timing of events surrounding what he had witnessed between Tony, Steve, Bucky and his brother..

"Steve actually thanked me later on, for giving him the time he needed to figure things out. Now, I thought that was just Steve being nice, but he meant it. Bucky fucked up his own reputation with Steve, and all that work in progress stuff between them fizzled out."

Steve never looked back, and then their relationship faced a whole mess of other challenges. They were still working things out, but Tony was good with it. He wrapped his mind back to his original point, then he turned over a bit so he could really look in Victor's direction. The baby Strange thought over what he had heard, and he wondered if Tony was advising him to do the same thing.

He didn't want to let Ezekiel go for any reason. In their relationship, Victor actually just got him back. Ezekiel took off on him for a long time, and he even tried to force Victor to move on. The Sorcerer Supreme didn't want to rehash those memories at all. Things were better, but now a tall…loud… ANNOYING… bothersome… psycho fuhkkk was in Victor's way.

Letting Ezekiel go seemed like a bad idea, but Victor still wanted to hear everything that Tony wanted to share with him. The brunette clarified that his advice was only to help Victor get prepared. Prepare yourself for worst people…

"I'm not saying the same thing would happen in your situation, because Wade's actually a wonderful person. There's so much more to Deadpool than you know, and Ezekiel is thinking about him, a lot. I'm just trying to prepare you. Ok?"

Shit happens, so Tony wanted to set Victor's mind up for success as best he could. Victor heard what was said, then the baby Strange started chewing on his bottom lip.

"Well, what should I do? I don't want to dump him, or tell him to figure it out. Tony, I'm confuuuussseeeeddd.."

Victor's baby brain was about to burst. His heart was in stitches about it as well and he started looking fearful. Tony Stark laughed pretty loudly, then he shook his head several times. His advice was backfiring on him, so Tony rubbed his face a bit with his hands. He wasn't telling Victor to dump him, that was just the set up for the point he was trying to make.

The actual POINT had to do with Victor being prepared, because things were going to go how they were going to go, and there was nothing Victor Strange could do about it. Tony was trying to help him let go of the impulse to control the situation. Now, Tony tried to word that delicately…

"NO, don't DUMP him… just, be there for him. Don't try to control or fix what's happening. That's my point about Steve. I let the situation go."

Tony dismissed the mess, and it worked out for him in the long run. Victor was resisting the information, but he was hearing what Tony was telling him. He knew Tony's advice was also coming from a place of understanding Ezekiel. The insight into his mind made things feel, better, sorta. The baby Strange pondered the information for a bit.

Victor figured the next logical step was to continue being petty. He didn't plan to dump Ezekiel for any reason, but knowing more about his present enemy seemed like the smartest play.

"So, what wonderful information do I need to know about Wade fucking Wilson…."

Tony LOL'd for the millionth time that day, then he thought over how to respond.
