No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2
Chapter 66: Sorcerer Supreme (Part 6)
For those who don't know, you can't enter a realm that belongs to one of the Vishanti without permission. Victor Strange understood that, so he waited patiently for Oshtur's host to appear.
The baby Strange wasn't alone, and he was beyond excited to have Tony Stark floating around beside him. They were finally on an adventure together, so Victor couldn't contain his grin. They were talking about Oshtur's realm being accessed through the sky. Hoggoth's realm was connected to the physical realm, then Agamotto..
Victor recalled a detail or two about the Vishanti entity that his brother had to deal with. He was nothing like Hoggoth and Oshtur, so the Sorcerer Supreme wasn't sure how things were going to go down. His mind wandered onto thoughts about his older brother. Historically, Agamotto had been abusive toward Stephen, and he did everything he could to take over his brother's body and soul.
Donna, Victor, and Clea corrected that long ago, so the baby sorcerer had to wonder if the entity held a grudge.. Maybe, he forgot?
Victor hoped so. He brought it up to Tony, but there wasn't much that could be said. The other Vishanti entities were technically off limits, so Tony could only speak from speculation. Stephen's presence in their world was pretty null and void at that point as well, so it wasn't like they could just randomly ask.
Steve Rogers appeared in font of Tony, and the technology that covered his body burned translucent blue. Victor had seen Steve's armor once or twice before, but in small doses. He thought it looked super cool, so he kept staring. Steve said hello to Tony first, and Victor picked up that those two were having a moment.
The moment was brief, but playful, because Tony Stark was a man about business. He thanked Steve for showing up, and the blonde mentioned something about being in the middle of something important. The chess game with Ezekiel was very important, and Steve behaved as if he wanted to head back as soon as possible.
Those two were playing word games with one another. Victor could tell, but he didn't comment on what he observed. His eyes migrated down toward his chest, then Victor touched the amulet. The contact made the artifact appear, and Steve refocused on it. He stepped in front of Victor and he smiled.
"Tony and I will remain with you through this, and through your interaction with Agamotto, if that works for you?"
UH, YEAH. Victor was hoping they'd stick around. He didn't want to face Agamotto alone if he didn't have to. Well, of course… involving Agamotto meant his brother would be there, right? Regardless, Stephen's Vishanti beast was too unpredictable and hostile. Victor gave Steve Rogers a smile, then he looked further into Oshtur's realm.
"That works for me. Thank you."
"Perfect. Follow me."
Steve was their escort. He took a moment to look in Tony's direction again, so they didn't leave right away. It didn't seem like Steve was in "hot water" as he described. Tony's mood around him seemed playful, but also, he wasn't saying much. Victor followed after Steve, and he asked the two of them for some advice about the final step.
"Should I just, text Stephen? Or write him a note?"
Hey bro, come bring your Vishanti beast? Victor felt weird about it for some reason. The baby Strange thought about it as he journeyed onward through the sky. He noticed the air around him began to feel heavier. It got colder as well, but that was expected. After a moment, Victor looked upon something that was bright, beautiful and blue.
Looking at Oshtur was something to contemplate. Her body and her features were… mystical and whimsical?
Victor couldn't really describe it. Seeing her physical form was almost like seeing an airy festival of lights. It was super weird, but amazing to see. Victor was transfixed for a minute or two. Luckily, Steve's voice broke him out of the void. He was introducing Victor to Oshtur, and explaining why they were paying her a random visit.
Steve asked if Oshtur could have Agamotto join them. Victor was surprised to hear that, but Steve's idea made sense. According to legend, Agamotto was born from Oshtur, so….technically that Vishanti beast was like, a mother? The baby Strange scratched on the back of his neck for a bit, because there was a lot more going on in that moment.
Oshtur was listening to Steve and conversing with her host. BUT, she was also looking into Victor's eyes at the same time, and another version of her was circling around Tony Stark. The Sorcerer Supreme assumed that was happening because TONY was the host of Hoggoth. Hoggoth and Oshtur had a partnership that spanned realms, dimensions and lifetimes.
Still following? Ok, Victor gave the Vishanti beast a goofy smile.
He felt a bizarre vibration, and Steve informed him that the buzz came from Oshtur responding. She was communicating with them in that moment, and Victor could feel her words pulsing around beneath his skin. It was super weird, crazy, and Victor felt as if he was going to be sick. A dizzy spell hit him for a bit, and he stepped back because Steve's beast looked into his eyes once again.
She touched Victor's shoulders, his chest, then she put her eyes up against the amulet. Uhh, that was all it took? Because, suddenly… that whimsical thing disappeared. Oshtur entered the amulet and Victor's nerves started wigging out. Everything was bright blue for a hot minute, and the baby Strange forgot how to take a friggen breath.
His amulet shook a bit above his chest, then it stopped. Whoooo boy. Victor swallowed down his soul a couple times, then he gave Steve an awkward laugh. Was it over? Was that it? The baby sorcerer wasn't sure. He breathed easier for a bit, then Steve explained that Oshtur also communicated with Agamotto.
Sooooo, the final beast was heading their way. Ok, cool. Victor was… super stoked.
