No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 72: Technovore (Part 2)

Let's effing gooooooo….

Only one person spoke up and committed to tagging along with Wade Wilson, and guess what, that person was Wong...

COOL.

Wade gave him a crisp high five after the guy agreed to spend the evening with him. Deadpool kept looking amongst the group for anyone else, but the deliberations were still happening across the scene. He thought there must have been a lot of ground to cover between all the different people…. so Wade tried to remain calm.

Sooooo many important conversations were happening all at once. Out of boredom, Deadpool looked left and he tuned into whatever was being discussed between Stephen Strange and Steve Rogers. Those two chatting it up seemed interesting to the mercenary, so he looked in on their vibe. Stephen had his back turned toward Wade Wilson at that point, so he didn't notice him at all.

Steve could see the desperation going on with Wade, but the blonde ignored him. He had his own plans to get to, but looking Stephen Strange in the eyes in that moment was the first step to his plan. That Strange charm and sarcasm was introduced to the casual conversation pretty quickly, because Stephen immediately brought up their first encounter at the Kamar taj.

"So many wonderful memories here, right Steve?"

The blonde just smiled…

Tony Stark was standing right there beside Steve, but his focus seemed to be more pointed toward Victor Strange. Deadpool planned to eavesdrop in that direction soon, but the mercenary kept his focus on the vibes going on between Stephen and Steve. Are we friends or foes here? That was Wade's main focus, but he also had mad ADD.

"Well, we both know you like to swoop in every time I fuck up…"

"Wow. Language, Steve."

DEADPOOL MISSED SOMETHING. He thought he missed something important, because Steve made a comment that seemed WAYYYY out of character. Tony seemed pretty playful about it, but he wasn't really responding to what Steve or Stephen were actually saying. What the eff? Wade tried to move in closer. He was bored, and nosy. He also really wanted to know the scoop.

Stephen Strange just held a friendly smile. The blonde asked him if he was done "swooping in," but it all seemed like an inside joke. Stephen Strange's response baffled Wade, so he kept looking around at all faces that were involved.

"I swear I'm done, and Tony's been all yours for a pretty long time. You two should join us in Nebraska. I don't know what day it's happening, but Sofia misses you both."

The Strange family planned to head there in a couple days. Stephen wanted to double check the timing on that with his sister. Donna Strange managed to wander back over toward the chess table, because some sulking loner up there had caught her attention. Bucky Barnes was still up there with his cigarettes, and Stephen took a second to look up where they were.

Steve Rogers had to look at Tony after all that, because ultimately it was up to him if he wanted to go to Nebraska. The blonde was good with it, and he was only teasing Stephen. That "Tiger Striped Cat" took a second, but he eventually looked up in Steve's direction. Of course he wanted to go to Nebraska in a couple days, and of course…. Stephen was done with his "swooping."

"Tony, I was thinking.."

Oh wait, Steve looked over at Ezekiel Stane. They hadn't finished their chess game, but it looked like he was in the middle of a delicate conversation with Victor Strange. Steve returned his focus in Tony's direction, and the brunette waited patiently for him to finish his sentence. Yes, Steve? What ever are you thinking?

The blonde slowly closed his eyes. The insecurities he grew up with were slowly creeping in, because he knew good and well that he was fucking up. His sarcastic comment toward Stephen was more of a reminder for himself. Tony Stark could be with anyone that he wanted, and it wouldn't take much.

"I was thinking you and I could, leave."

"Oh really? And go where?"

"Anywhere you want."

Steve wanted to know what Tony wanted to do. He wasn't going to sketch out his choice, or behave in the same way as he was before. It was clear that they needed to spend time together, and talk. Steve felt like he had a giant mess to fix. The blonde decided to skip out on the chess game, the club invite, and all the other stuff that was buzzing around the training grounds in that moment.

He wanted to hear what Tony wanted to do, and go wherever he wanted to go. The brunette listened to the kind gesture, and his eyes wandered down to the bottom line of Steve's shirt. Where to go, what to do, what to see?

"I'm pretty hungry. There's a grilled chicken shack I think about on the daily. It's probably my favorite place to eat."

Tony understood what was going on with Steve. Blondie was trying to spend more time away from Brooklyn, and that was ok. Tony wasn't interested in being difficult, so he gave that golden thing some new information to ponder. Steve was collecting as much information on him as he could. Tony wasn't blind to that, and he thought it was cute.

"Goodbye WADE."

Tony Stark flipped the script, and he made sure to call out the person who was busy spying on all the rest. Wade was startled by the sudden death to the warm and fuzzy moment. He loudly told Tony Stark that he didn't have cellphone service, couldn't call a cab, and he didn't know where the fuck he was.

Wade needed all of those things to officially leave, because he didn't have any magical means for transportation. Wade was very saved by the bell, because a friendly voice suddenly chimed into the conversation. Victor Strange saved the day, and Wade Wilson had to slowly arch up an eyebrow.

"Ezekiel and I can take you. Where did you want to go?"

Wait, hold up. What gives? Wade glanced over at Ezekiel Stane for a sec. He studied the look on that shiny young man's face, then he returned his attention back to the baby Sorcerer Supreme. Victor normally spit venom and hellfire in the mercenary's direction every time he spoke to him. Wade Wilson didn't understand, so he made sure to take two steps in Wong's direction before he responded. The merc wasn't sure what the game was…

"My brother, Wong Wilson, and I plan to party hard out in the Bronx this evening. You can take me to my home, so I can get ready for the dance."

Got it? Wade wasn't sure what was happening, but he was a man of his word and he owed Wong Wilson a party. Wong was the ONLY PERSON WHO GAVE HIM A YES, so Wade thought the world of him. He kept staring down at the adorable Victor Strange. Wade was witnessing a smile from him, but he kept wondering what the angle was.

Was the baby wizard really down to party, or was he pulling tricks? Wade could only wonder…
