No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 79: Technovore (Part 9)

Clint Barton was stationed in a dirt pile somewhere around a place called Belarus. The box of intel he was given supposedly had all of the current information that was gathered on his older brother Bernard.

All of the data led Clint, Yelena, and Natasha to form a small surveillance unit outside a giant warehouse. It was a factory of sorts, and Natasha was documenting everything she could see. The baby archer was going over the information that he looked at in his head, because his hawk eyes had travelled around the warehouse for hours, and he didn't see any sign of his older brother.

"I think our fearless team leader has put me on a wild goose chase. Ezekiel's intel was bullshit."

"Saint" Ezekiel Stane's intel had to be a box full of shit. Barton had a feeling a "wild goose chase" was happening in that moment, because their team leader had offered up his help in such a friendly manner. The baby archer caught the feeling that Ezekiel was actually trying to get rid of him, or whatever.

Yelena Belova was in a dirt pile of her own. She slowly rolled her way toward Agent Barton, but her movement picked up a bit too much speed. She almost rolled over the baby archer, but she caught herself just in time.

"What does this mean? Why would your leader give you bogus information on your brother?"

"Because he's an asshole…"

Victor and Ezekiel deserved each other. The baby bird thought it over in that moment, then he eventually looked over in Natasha's direction. Her eyes were covered with a pair of hi-tech binoculars, and she was honing in on all the movement that was taking place on the left side of the building. She heard what Clint Barton had said, but she didn't technically agree with him calling the information bullshit.

Ezekiel definitely gave them something that was worth looking into, but she began to think it was only one tiny sliver of the pie. She was sure that the next clue would reveal itself to them at some point, but yeah… she did agree with the notion that Ezekiel Stane was an asshole.

"I think our precious leader gave us dated information about your brother, Clint. These guys are saying that everything is being shipped somewhere else."

Natasha was listening in. She understood the language, so she was translating what was being said as things carried on. The Widow could hear them say, plain as day, that everything within that building was going to be packed up and relocated to the United States.

"A man in there just said something happened in a different location, and additional men are moving in to cover the loss."

Natasha wasn't sure about who was moving in, where, and when. Those details were mandatory to obtain before they could pack up and head somewhere else. Knowing that, Natasha determined that they were going to be stationed there for a while. The baby archer straightened his posture after hearing that. He moved around beside Natasha's sister, then he started looking in on the building before them once again.

"So, you think my brother is at the other location?"

"I can't confirm that yet, but it's worth looking into."

Once they knewwherethe relocation area was taking place, then they would go there. The United States was a wonderful clue, so Natasha made sure to send that information in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s direction. Being unsure about the whereabouts of your own siblings can be a troublesome thing. Agent Barton was thinking about that as his eyes scanned around again for his brother's face.

"HE COULD HAVE JUST SAID, your brother works for me…"

Fuck that guy. Seriously, the archer even mocked Ezekiel's bullshit somber voice as he spoke out his latest thought. Whoaaaa, Yelena had to react to that one. She looked over at the baby bird, and she made a cringe like face that he was unable to see. Natasha's adoptive sister was a playful person, so she gave Agent Barton a gentle nudge to get his attention.

"Man,bozhe moy, you really hate this guy. You act like he killed your cat or something, what gives?"

Natasha couldn't help the smile that stretched across her face. Yelena amused her, and she felt glad to have her there with them in that moment. It soothed out the pain that came from leaving Bucky Barnes, and she hoped her sister was having the same affect on the baby archer. She understood WHY Clint Barton hated Ezekiel Stane with a burning passion, and it wasn't necessarily about his failed relationship with Victor Strange.

"I just said my brother works for him, and he knows that. He's got me off chasing him around this freezing cold country, and that's not even half of the shit he's pulled on me. The guy has literally snatched the use of my body, so there's this whole.. thing. It's insane."

The hatred ran DEEEEEEEPPPP, and the baby bird was getting even more annoyed every time he looked into the building in front of them. His brother wasn't there, Barton could feel it in his bones. Now, they had to wait for the snail mail information to reveal itself about where his brother could possibly be located next.

"Why don't you just call him, say ay.. what's the problem? Team leader, tell me what I want to know."

That seemed like a logical idea in Yelena's mind. Her mind settled on the comment that it was getting cold there, so she moved in even closer to Agent Barton. He removed his binoculars and he looked in the young woman's direction. CALL HIM, AND SAY AY? Yeah, that was never happening, so the baby bird had to roll his eyes.

"I've already discussed this with him. He's why we're here…"

Did Yelena not get it? Or, was she only listening to half of what he was saying to her? The baby bird was completely flabbergasted with the person beside him in that moment, and he hated that he still had to say anything about Victor's ASSHOLE crime-lord boyfriend. Natasha tapped the side of her binoculars twice, so she could see them and study what her sister was doing.

It looked like Yelena was moving in on the baby bird, but he was way too angry and enraged to actually see it. Those two were sharing a dirt pile together right in front of her, so Natasha tried to hang onto her serious composure.
