No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 85: Game Boi (Part 5)

The current time in Brooklyn, New York was 7:48 a.m…. and Tony Stark had zoned out a couple times in the shower. His evening with Steve concluded on a very good note, and the brunette didn't get as much sleep as he planned.

The blonde had a bod that wouldn't quit, so Tony did his best to prepare himself for it. He always had to prepare for an intimate encounter with Steve, but it always felt good so… who's complaining? The shower around Tony was giving him a welcomed reminder. His mind was filled with all sorts of yummy thoughts and memories about doing sexy shit with Steve.

That's why Tony was zoning out, but he remembered that he needed to get a move on it. He had to wake the eff up and wrap up the steamy shower session, because nowhispresence for the "Surveillant Council" matter became a thing. It was technically all Steve's fault, but Tony was good with it all the same.

The brunette removed himself from the yummy shower, dried off, got dressed, fixed his hair, and he made his way toward the food. Steve Rogers had a soul, body and mind that was refreshed. Also, the man was awake and alert hours ago, and that's precisely why things had changed for Tony before his eyes even cracked open that morning.

Tony went straight for his morning coffee, and he listened in on what Steve was saying to the two people who were on a set of translucent screens. The hot blonde was already chatting it up with Charles Xavier and Nick Fury, and he was educating them about the change to some of their morning plans.

"As of this morning, Stephen Strange has recused himself from his role with the Surveillant Council. Tony Stark and I will be taking his place, effective immediately, and Stephen has given me his vote for the new field division within S.H.I.E.L.D... for you to consider."

Thank you, and goodbye. Tony seriously chuckled after he listened to Steve's gentle, yet authoritative and forever professional tone. It was friggen yummy. The brunette hoped Fury or Xavier would protest what he said, so Steve would have to assert his point even further. Well, the information about Stephen's decision was met with no pushback whatsoever. In fact, everything Steve Rogers said was welcomed and appreciated.

"The insight from Stephen Strange, along with his vote, is definitely something that I will consider. Now, your involvement, and the involvement of Tony Stark, is also recognized and welcomed."

Charles Xavier was on the same level as Steve when it came down to being gentle, and professional. Tony looked up at the screen where the mutant was present, but he kept his thoughts about him on a short leash. He had butted heads with the psychic on more than one occasion, and he didn't want to piss the guy off anymore than he had to. Xavier was clearly in a bad mood, and doing his best not to show it.

"Donna Strange will remain on this council. She has been informed of Ezekiel's review today, and I've received word that she will be heading here soon. Her other brother, Victor, will not be allowed to attend this review, and his sister intends to inform him of that once he returns to Kathmandu."

Good to know. Tony processed that interesting bit of knowledge, then he thought over a few details relating to the upcoming vote. Ezekiel seriously wants hisownfield division. Whoa, and his request for that to happen was being brought up after his review. All of that was pretty serious. It was a big move for the baby Jackal, and it was actually the main reason why Charles Xavier was freaking out. Tony figured that out after looking through the sea of documents Ezekiel submitted with the application.

"Why isn't Victor Strange allowed to attend?"

Steve naturally wanted all the details. He was cutting up some apples as he processed what was happening. Nick Fury decided to chime in on that point. His screen became dominant as soon as the man spoke.

"IFthis new division is approved today, then that means S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a new division that is as classified as it can possibly get. Victor Strange is listed as part of the original team as a consultant, so Ezekiel will have to explain himself and tell us what that actually means. There also has to be a separation, with strict confidentiality going forward. So, I can't allow Victor to attend this review."

No way. Fury had to put his foot down on that. He was very aware of Ezekiel's relationship with Victor, and he also wanted only one member of the Mystic Arts to be present on the Surveillant Council. Steve took in the information as it was presented. He pushed a pile of sliced apples in Tony's direction too, then a thought crossed his mind about Ezekiel's original team.

In the paperwork provided, the Jackal put Wade Wilson, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanov, and Bucky Barnes as his initial team, with Victor Strange serving as his consultant. That team was exactly what Steve arranged for him from the beginning, with the addition of Deadpool migrating in down the line. The subject of Deadpool being involved hadn't been brought up at all that morning, but clearly Charles Xavier was very angry with the aloof mercenary.

His involvement was the largest part of the review. Steve could see that was in the works without the notion even being spoken out in the open. On that note, Steve fired off another question in Fury's direction, and the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. welcomed it with open arms.

"Will the rest of Ezekiel's team be brought in for this review?"

"Agent Romanov and Agent Barton are currently out of the area. Wade Wilson isn't recognized as a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. at all, or recognized as a member of this team at this point. So, Agent Barnes is the only member of the original team who has been instructed to attend. Bucky will also be providing us a vote, andhe will be voting for everyone else on that team."

Ok. So, Bucky will be dishing out three votes. That behavior was very common for changes being approved or denied within S.H.I.E.L.D., so Steve Rogers felt as if he had gathered enough information on the upcoming review. The blonde glanced in Tony's direction for a hot minute, then he stirred his oatmeal around in the bowl before him. Tony checked the time, and his eyes glanced over the numbers 8:15 a.m.

They didn't live far from the main S.H.I.E.L.D. facility, so the brunette wasn't sweating the commute. He just listened in as Steve concluded the information fest that was taking place in their kitchen. Steve gave Fury and Xavier his cordial goodbyes, then the two of them finished up their breakfast.
