o-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2
Chapter 89: Game Boi (Part 9)
It took Wong an eternity to get himself out of bed. The man was extremely hung over, and he felt water logged as he made his way around the Sanctum Sanctorum. Luckily for him, he was given a bag of random stuff to help him sober up, and boy was he grateful for that.
Deadpool even wrote him a get well soon note, and it made the curator for the Mystic Arts smile. He still had a job to do and, at that point, he had to double check everything that was going on with Stephen Strange's siblings. Donna was the most reliable out of the three, but with Bucky Barnes in the picture again… he had to make sure that SOMEONE was actually monitoring things that were happening at the Kamar taj.
Wong expected Donna to do something crazy soon, such as move herself back in with Bucky, then he'd have to pry her focus back into the fold once again.
…
…..
And then there wasVictor Strange. Wong was more than horrified by the behavior he occasionally witnessed between him and Ezekiel Stane at the club. It drove him to drink even more alcohol, and it made him doubt the future of the Mystic Arts. It was bad enough that STEPHEN was treating the Sanctorum as his pleasure palace back when he first met Clea…
Dear Lord, Wong truly needed the break… but in that moment his nerves wouldn't settle. He absolutely had to check in, so after the man had composed himself, he peered in on the Kamar taj with a portal. Wong scanned around the halls for a while, then he eventually located one member of the Strange family.
Victor was, working? Wong actually saw him down in the training grounds. He appeared to be conversing with a number of recruits. No, Wong thought he might have been witnessing an illusion. A thought crossed his mind about seeing a dream, or maybe he never actually woke up. Well, the man wasn't dreaming at all, and Victor picked up on the energy from his portal straight away.
He kept the "bargain bin" clothing on that he borrowed from Wade Wilson, and his young eyes happened upon Wong…
There were things that Victor witnessed at the club that he could never unsee, so his facial expressions barely moved in that moment. Victor was recovering from the evening as well, but because DONNA was on the Stalker Council, she effing left. Plus Wong was passed out at the Sanctorum, so the baby Strange was unable to leave or get any sleep. HE FELT STUCK, AND HE ALSO COULDN'T MOVE HIS SHIT…..
Ezekiel asked him to move back in. Victor thought about that, and Wong immediately noticed his smitten little grin. Wong could see that Victor's mind had wandered off to lala land, like always, so he looked around the room he was in to find something to throw at his face. They did not get along. They never have gotten along, and Victor was convinced that they never would.
"Oh good, you're awake, SO GET BACK OVER HERE. I have to move my stuff."
…
Plus, Victor felt like he had a lot to think about. He didn't want to tap into his responsibilities for the Mystic Arts in that moment, or go through what was expected of him as the Sorcerer Supreme. His mind was still thinking over the morning he had with Ezekiel and…
Oh shit. Victor's mind ventured off toward oblivion, and someone super hot. I mean, he kinda hooked up with Wade too. The word KINDA didn't apply at all, because he totally did. Victor's face burst into flames when he thought about it, and Wong was not in the mood for his juvenile shit.
"I'M TAKING A SICK DAY. SO YOU'RE STAYING PUT."
Brat. Wong legit flipped him off, and he studied the clothing that Victor was wearing. Clearly the clothes were too big, and they looked wrinkled. The librarian almost closed his portal as well, because what else was there to say really? He didn't plan to return that day, and that meant Victor Strange had to stay.
Victor "legit" returned the gesture. He flipped Wong off right back and told him to GET LOST. The baby Strange didn't want to hear from him ever again, and he definitely didn't want to remember what he saw Wong doing in Istanbul. No, Victor rubbed his eyes a million times where he stood, ignored whatever the hell Wong said, and he pressed on.
The portal to the Sanctorum closed, THANK GAWD, and Victor was left to tend to their new recruits. Doing that was, fine. Victor felt more than prepared to handle that. He was also nursing a hangover, and powering through the lack of sleep, but... so what? He had the best time, and, it all felt really good…
Victor kinda wanted to feel a repeat. Well, the word KINDA didn't apply, again… but whatever. Fuhhhkk… He wondered if Ezekiel would be interested in doing that, with Wade. Maybe? Long after his Stalker Council meeting of course. Victor did his best to drop the thought, and he told himself to only focus on the recruits who were there in front of him.
Yeah… his inner pep talk was totally working…
