No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2

Chapter 90: Game Boi (Part 10)

The first part of Ezekiel's "review" consisted of Charles Xavier speaking to him, while the rest of the Surveillant Council were instructed to only listen and observe.

No pressure right? Well, the psychic had been working with Ezekiel since the beginning, and the two of them had developed a strong connection. Ezekiel respected him, and the thought of letting Xavier down was currently on his mind. The mutant brought that out of him for discussion, then after a while, he decided to change the subject.

"You are more in control of your emotions than I have ever seen, so don't worry about letting me down as you presently are. However…"

However. What an interesting use of the word. Xavier made sure to say that to Ezekiel in that moment, because the mutant's concern didn't exist with Ezekiel's current state. His attention turned more in Wade Wilson's direction, and the mercenary sat back in his snazzy chair. He didn't like feeling "addressed" in that moment, or the way Charles Xavier began to look at him.

He was giving Deadpool the death glare, but every bit of his attention was meant for the quiet Jackal. There was more information that needed to be rooted out and discussed, but the mutant approached the next thought in a delicate manner. Xavier planned to discuss Ezekiel's feelings for Wade, and he understood it was a very sensitive subject for him.

"Ezekiel, you've been telling yourself that you feel influenced, and oftentimes dominated by Wade Wilson. Now, you tell yourself that what you feel for him is a work in progress, but would it be correct to assume that his behavior has influenced you to construct this application?"

Every single word was specific, because everyone in that room knew that Deadpool loved himself a bloodbath. Ezekiel asking for his own division, and the work he intended to do with Wade Wilson by his side was no joke. It needed to be looked at with a significant level of scrutiny, and Deadpool's jaw just about hit the table.

He felt, influenced? Dominated? WORK IN PROGRESS, and what the SHIT? Wade had to look in Ezekiel's direction, cuz what he heard from the freak-shrink was pretty alarming. He only wanted Ezekiel feeling loved up, motivated, and happy. Wade thought he might have misheard him. He had to have misheard that. Also, a friggen sea of thoughts raced up on the mercenary as well, I meannnnn…

What the EFF is this shit, divorce court? Wade was getting all sorts of weird thoughts in his head all of a sudden, because yeah he talked about the whole "division" thing with Ezekiel. But, it was Ezekiel's idea. They just talked and Wade said that he would help. Wade didn't even know that forming a new division was possible… They spoke about it late at night, at his place, when no one was looking….

Deadpool touched his mask a couple times, because it also felt like his face was about to melt.

Ezekiel had a response to that, but of course he looked over at Wade. Xavier's delivery of that information was, wonderful. The baby Jackal had to process it, and he also had to process how Wade reacted. Remember, the Council was monitoring everything. Every movement, every reaction, and every passing thought. The review was an absolute nightmare for Ezekiel, especially because Victor's sister was right there…

His eyes went toward Donna Strange, but then he gave the room his response.

"I do feel dominated by Wade, because he's in my thoughts all the time. That's what I meant by that. And, I also feel influenced, but his behavior has not influenced me to submit the application. Those plans are mine, and mine alone."

Wait what? Deadpool had to look in Ezekiel's direction again. It...it was nice to know that he was in his thoughts. Wade didn't know Ezekiel felt that way at all, so he kinda got the feels for a second there. Whoa. What he heard was also something that the mercenary didn't hear too often. Sure, he had been in a ton of relationships, and his last one kind of went to shit, but.. it felt nice to hear that…

"But, how do you know his behavior hasn't influenced you? Wade Wilson thinks things like murder and bloodbaths are fun. Killing people is how he makes his living."

WHOA BALD FUCKER. Wade heard that shit, and he alllllmmmmmooooosssstttt went for his gun. He almost did it, but he stopped himself. Deadpool wasn't the only person who was quick on the draw, and everybody in that room reacted to what was said in the same fashion. That whole effing Council was ready to stop Deadpool where he sat.

Ok. Just, water off a duck's back. Just, water off a duck's back. Wade forced a smile through the nasty and pointed comment, then he took in a long, deep, and meditative breath. Yes, Deadpool was told (often) that he had homicidal tendencies, and he was basically a danger to society. But, INFLUENCED? He was only influencing Ezekiel when they were in his bedroom. He was influencing his way through a friggen hard-on too, for months. WOW. WADE WAS PISSED.

Ezekiel didn't care for the pointed response as well, so he kept his attention directed toward Xavier. It was easy to take shots at Wade's profession, but Ezekiel never did anything on a whim. For him, everything was a game of chess, and he felt ready to move and begin his game. Something happened in the room at that moment, because Xavier's comment seemed to rub Ezekiel the wrong way.

Everybody was watching and waiting for him to respond, and some of them could see that there was a strong sense of pride beginning to emerge. The Jackal already explained that the plans he made werehis, and his alone. He didn't like Xavier doubling down on his point. Then, using Wade to make it seem like his thoughts and goals weren't his own? That was next level petty.

"I know his behavior hasn't influenced me, because I'm already a crime lord and I need him. Being a crime lord is what I know, and that's what I do. Now, I amrespectfullygiving S.H.I.E.L.D. the opportunity to grasp what I'm doing, because right now the organization only gets in my way."

Long story short, S.H.I.E.L.D. was too slow, there was too much red tape, and Ezekiel needed to have his own division. He could construct one himself and run it without them, but….

He also needed their council and he wanted his work to be monitored. Ezekiel knew himself a lot more than ever before, and having his own division meant that he would be dealing with something dark and terrible once againifit was approved.

That's why he was going through with the application. The Jackal's face sharpened up after he spoke, because he gave them all the only answer that he had to give.

Plus, he felt he provided enough information for them to conclude their review. In fact, it would take some of them a literal year to review the documents in his application alone, so the young man felt very done with their council for the day. And finally… the notion of murder and "bloodbaths" was nothing compared to what Ezekiel provided in his documentation, so he wanted them to get to reading, then vote.

The room remained quiet for a short while after he spoke, until a short laugh randomly filled the room. Wade had to laugh after that, cuz in his book they all were insane….
