No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 2
Chapter 94: Another Sunset (Part 4)
Donna Strange returned to the Kamaj taj, and she left the portal open for James to follow.
The man didn't feel like mingling around after the Surveillant Council meeting came to an end, and he figured he'd catch up with Steve eventually. The portal closed behind him, and Bucky watched Donna return to her regular appearance. He preferred Donna's regular appearance, of course, but he behaved as if he wasn't looking in her direction.
"Well that was, terrible."
Donna hated the information she had to look over, and she absolutely hated what Ezekiel Stane planned to do with his life. Imagine choosing to submerse yourself in a world where you're constantly seeing chaos, bloodshed, and death. The Surveillant Council was predicting an even harder road for him in the long run, so they all agreed with the provisions that Steve Rogers immediately constructed.
The sister picked up on how Steve was feeling. She could see the fragility of it, and the deep concern he had about losing Ezekiel. "Captain America" didn't say it out loud, but it was very obvious that he had become attached at some point. He cared for Ezekiel more than she realized, and her mind definitely understood the notion.
Thoughts about her younger brother filled her mind, and thoughts about what the "White Jackal" had told her. Bucky noticed that Victor Strange was heading in their direction. He seemed joyful and eager to talk to them. Obviously he felt his sister's energy, or something. Somehow, the baby Strange knew that they had returned.
"Yeah, all of that was pretty terrible."
Things were quiet, and Bucky almost forgot to respond to what Donna said. He had a lot on his mind as well, but he still re-focused and gave her a small smile. She smiled back at him, and a question suddenly crossed her mind. A large part of her wanted to ask what happened with Natasha, but she didn't want to upset him.
Victor kinda interrupted the thought she had, but that was fine. Donna turned her focus away from James, then she looked at the crazy clothes that her brother had on once again. He was a wrinkled mess, and she wasn't sure who the person was on his t-shirt. The clothes were very mismatched, so the sister shook her head.
Victor seemed very happy about something, so the sister just took a moment to look at the person in front of her. Victor started talking to James right away. He asked him if he planned to stay at the Kamar taj? Bucky just gave him a small shrug, and Victor fired off another question. He was curious, and the young man had no filter.
"Are you guys dating again?
ACK. Donna quickly smacked the side of her baby brother's head. She didn't want to HEAR THAT from him, ever. In fact, she pushed him backward just a little bit and she told him that she needed to talk to him. The older sister was unable to give him any details about Ezekiel's review, but she wanted to get the facts straight about something she observed.
Her thoughts were super-focused and honing in onWade Wilson, andEzekiel. Donna wanted to talk to her brother about what happened relating to the two of them. She wanted to make sure her brother had all the facts about that, so he didn't run off and get himself into some CRAZY ASS MESS. She had to ask questions and say something, because that's what big sisters do.
"Are YOU back with Ezekiel? Let's start there.."
…
Donna suddenly flipped the script, and she wasn't paying any attention to whatever James had going on somewhere behind her. He was welcome to stay at the Kamar taj for as long as he needed, and Victor didn't get to ask about whether or not they were "back together." Her brother responded with a playful gulp, then he almost tripped on something that was behind him.
"Uhhhhh, yeah. We're a thing, again, and I'm moving back in with him. I actually wanted to do that… today, if you're back for real?.."
Aw, what an adorable grin. Donna watched her brother's face light up like a little sunshine baby. The clothes he wore in that moment made him look even more comedic. The sister took in a slow breath, because she actually wasn't amused. She crossed her arms, and Victor saw her left eyebrow arch up high.
"Well, we will be holding onto your apartment in Manhattan. You should keep it, just in case things don't work out."
…
"UHh…why wouldn't things work out?…."
DON'T FRIGGEN RAIN ON MY PARADE, SIS. That's what Victor wanted to say, and the immediate impulse to fight with her struck his soul. Donna buckled down and prepared herself for it. In fact, she welcomed some pushback from her precious baby brother. Victor looked pretty mad, right from the start.
"You never know with relationships, and what you've got going on with Ezekiel has been a disaster from the start."
Her brother's jaw instantly fell open, but he couldn't actually argue. Ehhhh… when he thought about it, Donna's comment was pretty accurate. The young woman was about to reveal the true point of their conversation, but she waited to hear any possible response from her brother. The baby Strange didn't respond to her at all. He simply rolled his eyes and mumbled something snarky beneath his breath.
"Besides, your BOYFRIEND seems very fixated with someone else. I've noticed it, and at the meeting today… he seemed very connected to Wade Wilson."
Donna absolutely had to say that to her brother in that moment. It was a must in her book, because she didn't want to see her brother in a depressed state ever again. Ezekiel took off on Victor for a long time. VICTOR was at fault for most of it, but honestly it all was such a MESS. Ezekiel had changed a lot, and because of her role on the Surveillant Council, she knew that the change in him was connected to Deadpool.
…
"UH.. Donna, I know."
"You, know?"
…
"YEAH. I know he's connected to Wade, and fixated."
…
OH, Victor knew alllll about it. He had to look away on that one. I mean, he started warming up right away. He also wasn't sure what to say about that to his friggen BIG SISTER. There she was… being nosy, thinking she was giving him some groundbreaking information on Ezekiel. Donna studied the look on her brother's face. Well, she had to step around him and LOOK into his baby brat eyes, cuz he turned away and looked off toward the clouds.
…
"So, you're just fine and dandy with that?"
…
"Yup."
…
Victor was justfine and dandywith a lot of things relating to Wade Wilson, but he couldn't possibly explain any of that to his DAMN SISTER. Now, Stephen? Maybe... cuz he knew all about his brother having feels for Tony Stark back in the day. Victor KNEW…. SO, his older brother was the only person that he could potentially talk about those sort of things, with….
Donna looked shocked. Beyond shocked, because she was not into being with someone who was fixated with someone else. Helllll no. That just wasn't her vibe for any reason, and it never would be. She assumed Victor was oblivious to Ezekiel's feelings, but? Whatever… She summed it up to it being a Gen Z, thing…or Gen X?
"Whatever. You're insane."
"Luv you too sis. SO, can I move my stuff?"
Victor wanted to go go gooooooo. Daylight was burning and he wanted to get his stuff put back in Ezekiel's house ASAP. Victor had a ton of other thoughts to plan out, work and get out of his system too, so he needed to vacate the Kamar taj immediately. Donna Strange mad rolled her eyes in that moment, then she told her brother to just go..
Her baby brat brother was gone in an instant, so the young woman turned back in "Bucky's" direction. The "Winter Soldier" had a question for her about helping out, because Bucky Barnes absolutely hated it when he wasn't useful.
