Prologue

DISCLAIMER: I own nothing except my oc/si. I do not own pokemon.

PLEASE READ - This is my first writing and though i have a half outline of what I want to happen, its not fully complete and it can (and probably will) change. I have pokemon that i 100% will have on the team but theres still open slots, so if anyone wants to vote/pick (or suggest something completely different) then be my guest.

This character is also not a full si, more so a semi-si/oc, but regardless, i need to start the actual chapter. Enjoy ( or dont) and please leave a review regardless of your thoughts. Thank you!

New Beginnings

It was past his normal bedtime, but he couldnt bring himself to stop. Shawn had recently looked back into Pokemon, and man, it was a lot more interesting than he gave it credit as a kid. The games had so many mechanics, and though he did play them when he was younger, he never fully explored these mechanics.

EVs, IVs, Natures, different STAB moves and everchanging move pools to keep up coverage. Status and field conditions, special and physical moves, abilities that can change everything, all the type weaknesses, strengths, and resistances. All of it was awesome, and he was going to put as much of it as he could (without being a tryhard of course, hes not going IV and nature hunting) to use, to make this playthrough his most satisfying and enjoyable yet.

This spark of interest in Pokemon was not limited to the games though, oh no, he was watching the anime as well, with everyones favorite protagonist, Ash Ketchum. Specifically, Shawn had taken interest in the Unova region, as Pokemon Black and White were favorites of his as a kid, especially Black. Reshiram was his favorite Legendary Pokemon, its magestical feeling coming from its all white appearance could not be matched in his eyes.

The anime for the Unova region though, was lacking. A lot. Ash had basically been transformed into a kid again, the producers trying to recreate his original journey into Kanto. 'If only they had just let him stay mature from Sinnoh, but ohhh no, we MUST ruin the anime just to try and recreate something from like 20 years ago that would never work with the Ash from new generations', he thought. He never saw the point in doing Unova that way, and was reluctant to rewatch the anime because of how bad he was afraid it would be, but he bore through it regardless. He watched the good and the bad, the stuff that made him cringe as well as the awesome battles that made Pokemon what it was.

'If only,' he thought, 'If I was in there, well, Unova would've been a cinch with all the powerful pokemon, as well as the lackluster rivals Ash had. I mean for goodness sake he lost to a kid who forgot to bring his 6th pokemon! He lost in a 6 on 5 against an inexperienced kid who got lucky with an evolution! Even with the evolution though, you would think Ash has the plot armor, but no, they let him down in one of, if not his worst ever league loss. Thats not to mention Iris and her baby Excadrill, Georgia's wannabe dragon executioner, who kept on losing to dragons, and Trip, who just did the most ridiculous stuff and it worked, because Ash was demoted to a dumbass for Unova.'

Regardless of those thoughts though, he had a copy of Pokemon Black to play, and thankfully it was the weekend, so he didnt have to worry about going to university the next day. Oshawott wouldnt pick himself, after all.

What Shawn didnt know, was that his idea, sort of a wish, would come true. As he fell asleep with his DS in arms, he was moved from one location to another, and not just a room, but a whole universe apart. Shawn would wake up in a completely different bed, a different looking person, though with the same truths and ideals, and the same motivation for Pokemon - and to make things different from how they were. He would have a chance to change things for the better, or for the worse if he so desired it. As with Pokemon, anything is possible.

End!

This will be more of an independent fic, where Shawn will be with the group for some of the more interesting or major events, but he will have his own journyes, i guarantee that. As for pokemon, he will have a dragon, and he will have a fire type. Theres only two non-legendary dragon types in Unova that have evolutionary lines, Deino and Axew. Though I personally think Axew and therefore Haxorous are better, if theres a reason I should go with Deino/Hydreigon then please let me know below. As for fire, the list is as follows

Im leaning towards Litwick/Chandelure, but again, if anyone has suggestions, let me know down below. One last thing before we close, because of Unovas amazing selection of ground and steel types, Ive already decided Shawn will get at least two pokemon of one of those typings.
