Chapter 2: All Might's Joint Hero Training Part 1- Assigned Teams

It's been a couple of months since Izuku's acceptance into U.A High School, and now it was finally his first day at Japan's #1 Hero Academy. His new uniform consisted of a light gray blazer with dark turquoise trimmings, along with a white dress shirt underneath it. His dress pants were also dark turquoise in color while the red tie he wore wasn't done properly, which left it shorter than it should've been. Instead of the plain brown shoes the school recommended, Midoriya chose to sport his signature red shoes.

"Izuku, do you have a tissue?" Inko asked from her place behind her son.

"Yes mom." Izuku responded while tying his laces.

"And your handkerchief? What about your handkerchief? Your hanky?" She continued on with her barrage of questions.

"I have it! I'm going to be late." He assured her with a slight bit of annoyance at her multiple questions. Having finished tying the laces of his shoes, he grabbed his yellow backpack and headed towards the door. "I have to hurry."

"Izuku!" His mother called out to him one last time while he opened the front door to leave.

"What is it?!" Midoriya questioned as he looked back with some concern and urgency.

With a few tears of joy piling up in her eyes along with a small motherly smile, Inko told her precious boy her final comment before he left for school. "You're really cool."

In response to his mother's sudden compliment, Izuku gained a small, embarrassed blush and a matching smile to go along with it. "I'm off!" He stated as he left for school.

U.A HIGH SCHOOL

'U.A's Hero Course…' The green haired thought as he made his way through the halls of the large school in search of Class 1-A. 'With its acceptance rate as less than one in three hundred every year, that leaves thirty-six students entering through the regular examinations while four more enter through recommendations.' He deduced from his observations from the past two years of exams that he looked at. 'They're then split up into two classes with both having twenty students. While most would think that Class 1-A is only for the elite of the elite, I won't be so narrow minded.' He ended his thoughts with a small excited grin at the prospect of fighting new and powerful people.

"That's a large door…" He commented as he stared at the wooden door that had 1-A painted in the middle of it in red. "I guess it's for accessibility?" Izuku guessed as he slid open the door to enter the class.

"Don't put your feet on the desk!" A male voice demanded.

"Huh?" Another male voice asked in a taunting manner.

"Don't you think it's rude to the upperclassmen and the people who made the desk?" The first voice inquired.

"Nope. What junior high did you go to, you side character?" The second voice shot back at the first one.

'You've got to be kidding me…' Midoriya thought in slight annoyance. 'Why couldn't the more well mannered Bakugo be placed in this class rather than the more egotistical one?' Izuku muttered internally as he recognized the male Bakugo twin. Said twin was slim with a muscular build and had fair tone skin. He had spiky, sandy blonde hair with choppy bangs that hung over his eyebrows while his sharp eyes were bright red in color. While he wore the same uniform as Izuku, there were a few differences; The white dress shirt he wore underneath his blazer had a few of the top buttons undone while the red tie was missing. His dress pants were also worn loosely, which caused them to sag at his ankles despite him wearing a belt.

"I attended Somei Private Academy. My name is Tenya Iida." The now identified Iida, otherwise known as Examine 7111, introduced himself while his hand did some weird gestures.

"Somei? So you're a damn elite huh? Looks like I'll have fun crushing you." Bakugo stated with an arrogant smirk.

"Crushing?" Tenya questioned as he took a step back in surprise. "That's cruel. Are you sure that you're aiming to be a hero?"

"Tch!" Was all the twin responded with before turning his head to the right, only to recognize the green haired boy's presence at the door which prompted him to get annoyed.

Seeing that the delinquent before him shifted his attention towards the door, the blue haired boy also looked over to the entrance of the classroom to see who was there. "You're…" He began upon recognizing Izuku. The other occupants of the class also shifted their attention to the green haired boy, seeing that the main causes of the earlier commotion directed their gaze to him.

"You're Midoriya right?" An upbeat voice question from beside Izuku. Turning his gaze towards her, he recognized the messy mop of chartreuse and pink. Instead of the tracksuit she wore back then, she was now dressed in the standard girl uniform for U.A which consisted of a gray dress jacket that had two teal strips, two pockets with folds and two golden buttons. Underneath the jacket she wore a white dress shirt with the school's signature red tie, which had a small golden button on it, a teal pleated skirt along with black, knee-high socks and brown dress shoes. "Do you remember me?" She asked with a small smile.

"You're one of the girls who was trapped under the rubble during 0-Pointer's rampage right? The one that Shirayuki saved?" Izuku presumed to which she gave a cheery smile in response.

"Mhm! My name is Toru Hagakure, nice to meet you!" Toru introduced herself.

"Good morning!" Iida interrupted their small conversation as he marched robotically over Midoriya. "I'm from Somei Private Academy. My name is-"

"I heard you the first time. I'm Izuku Midoriya, nice to meet you Iida." The green haired boy stated as he cutted in on Tenya's introduction.

"Midoriya, you and Todoroki-san realized that there was something more to the practical exam, didn't you?" Iida questioned, which prompted Izuku to gain a confused expression whilst attracting the attention of a pair of heterochromia eyes. "I had no idea…I misjudged you! I hate to admit it but you're better than me." He admitted with an embarrassed look while doing some more weird hand gestures.

'I'm not sure if I can account for Shirayuki, but I didn't notice anything.' Izuku internally revealed with a comical sweat drop appearing behind his head.

"You must be really smart, Midori!" The messy haired girl complimented with a small grin.

"Midori?" The green eyed boy restated with his confused expression still present.

"It's a nickname I came up with for you! Don't you like it?" She inquired with her grin still apparent to which he simply nodded his head in approval for his new found nickname.

"Oh, that curly hair! You're the one who saved me from being trapped under the debris during the exam!" A bubbly voice pointed out from behind Midoriya. Although he knew who it was due to the vaguely familiar feeling of her quirk, he still chose to turn around and confirm it for himself. Just as he suspected, it was the auburn haired girl who was also trapped with Toru during the practical exam with the only difference being that she now wore the same uniform as Hagakure but instead of knee-high socks, she wore black leggings. "I didn't get to say it due to you quickly leaving that day, but thank you for saving me with your quirk that day!"

"It's what any sensible person would have done in that scenario, but you're welcome." He responded with an embarrassed smile. 'That aside, do all the girls here look so gorgeous in the U.A uniform?' Izuku internally questioned thoughtlessly with a small blush forming on his cheeks.

From his seat, Bakugo began to feel irritated at what he just heard. He knew that Izuku was insanely strong since he was three, with he himself being on the receiving side of the green haired boy's immense strength, but him having a quirk? The spiky haired boy had zero knowledge of Izuku having a quirk as when asked about it, he simply stated that he was quirkless, and while his elder sister was quite close to Midoriya, something that annoyed him to no end, he wasn't certain about whether she knew what his quirk was or not. Could that have been the reason why she's always visiting him? 'So many unanswered questions…' Bakugo thought with annoyance while narrowing his eyes.

"I wonder if today's just the entrance ceremony and orientation? I wonder what our sensei's like?" The auburn haired girl questioned with her bubbly and laidback attitude still present. Toru also nodded in excitement at the thought of what the day will be like but Izuku prompted to shift his gaze to the floor behind the girl in front of him, with his blush and smile immediately fading while his demeanor became more serious.

"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends." A deep and tired voice stated from behind the auburn eyed girl, which caused both her and Toru to freeze up in surprise and slowly turn their gaze towards him.

'Eraser Head…'The green eyed boy muttered in his mind as he stared at the man wrapped up in a yellow sleeping bag that only left his stubble facial hair, black tired eyes and some of his hair exposed.

"This is the Hero Course." He began once again while his sleeping bag shifted a bit before it unzipped slightly for his hand to bring a juice pouch up to his mouth for him to drink.

'Something's here?!' Toru, Iida and the auburn haired girl thought with exaggerated expressions of surprise at Eraser Head's sudden appearance. Izuku on the other hand, kept his sight on the Pro Hero before him as said hero rose from the floor and exited his sleeping back which revealed his previously hidden form. He was tall and slender while having pale-skin. His black hair was shoulder length that partially hung in front his face and eyes, the latter being half opened. His costume consisted of a black, baggy long-sleeve shirt with matching pants that was tucked into his boots. He also wore a utility belt around his waist while a white, wrap-like scarf was worn around his neck, with Midoriya knowing its purpose quite well due his research.

"Okay, it took eight seconds before you were quiet." He pointed out as he looked at the small group at the doorway. "Time is limited, you kids are not rational enough." Once he ended his observation of the group, he turned his attention to the rest of the class. "I'm Shota Aizawa, your homeroom teacher. Nice to meet you." Aizawa introduced himself.

'Huh?! Homeroom Teacher?!' Were the collective thoughts of everyone minus two people within the classroom.

"I know it's kind of sudden, but put this on and head to the field." He instructed as he pulled out a blue PE uniform with the letters U and A printed onto it in white.

U.A FIELD

"A Quirk Assessment Test?!" All of the students, minus Izuku and a girl with messy black hair that was pulled back into a ponytail along with side-swept bangs covering her left eye, loudly repeated their homeroom teacher's statement.

"What about the Entrance Ceremony? The orientation?" The auburn eyed girl questioned in confusion.

"If you're going to be a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events." Aizawa muttered while facing away from them. "U.A's selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are." He began before turning to look back at them. "That's also how the teachers run their classes. You kids have been doing these since Junior High, too, right?" He asked as he took out a phone from his pocket and showed them a list of eight tests. "Physical fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your quirks. The country still uses averages taken from results from students not using their quirks. It's not rational." He stated which Izuku agreed with. "Well, the Ministry of Education is procrastinating. Bakugo," Eraser Head called out as he turned to the sandy-blond. "You finished third in the practical exam, right?"

"Yes, sensei." Bakugo confirmed with an annoyed tone as he side-eyed Midoriya who didn't even return his gaze.

"In Junior High, what was your best result for the softball throw?"

"67 meters." He responded

"Then try doing it using your quirk." He instructed as he threw a softball with a ring-shaped device to him which the red eyed boy caught. "Go stand over in that circle over there and you can do whatever's necessary as long as you remain in it." Bakugo simply nodded and went into the circle as instructed. "Hurry up. Give it all you've got."

"Then, well…" He began as he stretched in preparation for the throw. ' I'll add a blast to the pitch.' The red eyed boy planned before he took a step forward with a large grin. "Die..!" He shouted as he sent the ball flying with both his strength and an explosion.

"Typical Katsuki…" Izuku muttered to himself as he watched the airborne softball.

"Know your Maximum first." Shota simply said as he watched the phone in his hand as he waited for the results. It didn't take long before a small beep came from it and the results came up on the screen. "That's the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero." He added on to his previous statement as he showed his class the results, which was 705.2 meters.

"705.2 meters? Seriously?" A boy with short golden hair that was parted to the right with a black lightning shaped streak on the left side of his fringe that was angled to slightly obscure his left eye stated in shock as he viewed the results, which prompted Izuku to look at him as if he was an idiot.

"What's this? It looks fun!" A girl with light pink skin and unruly hair in a slightly darker shade than her skin tone said excitedly while clasping her hands together.

"We can use our quirks as much as we want! As expected from the hero course!" A boy with black hair pitched in.

"All of you are fools…" The girl with the messy ponytail declared as she started to stretch in preparation of what's to come. Her black eyes were similar to Aizawa's but less tired. "Papa's a serious slave driver when he needs to be and quite frankly, you idiots have made this exercise into one of those moments of his." She concluded in irritation as she waited for her father's next statement.

"Papa?!" All the students vocally questioned in shock as they stared at her in shock, especially Izuku.

'He has a daughter?!' He internally asked himself.

"It looks fun huh?" Aizawa muttered as his face was shadowed by his bangs. "You have three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the entire time?" He inquired as his face became slightly more visible, which revealed his sinister smile. "All right. Whoever comes last place in all eight tests will be judged as having no potential and will be punished with expulsion."

"Huh?!" Everyone minus Izuku and Aizawa's daughter shouted out in surprise at his declaration.

'And there it is.' His daughter thought with a downcasted expression. 'Now I actually have to try and compete with these greenhorns cause dad will nag at me for not giving it my all.'

'This is a piece of cake! My basic physical skills are really all I'll need for this miniature test of his, though it is kind of boring…' Midoriya rejoiced at first for the turn of events before he became dejected at the fact that his boredom would increase.

"We are free to do what we want about the circumstances of our students." He proclaimed as he used his right hand to pull back his bangs to reveal his crazed eyes and smile. "Welcome to U.A's Hero Course!" Eraser Head welcomed as he observed their various reactions.

"Last place will be expelled? But it's the first day of school!" The auburn haired girl complained at the sudden predicament they were placed in. "No, even if it wasn't the first day of school, this is too unfair!"

Aizawa was about to begin his argument against what she said but he was beaten to the punch by Midoriya. "Natural disasters, big accidents and selfish villains. Calamities whose time or place can't be predicted. Japan is covered with unfairness. Heroes are the ones who reverse those situations. If you wanted to go talk with your friends at Mickey D's after school then, too bad! For the next three years this place will do all in its power to give us one hardship after another and our job is to overcome them with everything we have. " He ended his little speech while looking at Aizawa with an annoyed look. "That being said, let's get these tests over with! It's a waste of my time." (1)

In response to the green haired boy's small speech, Iida took out a bluish-gray training bottle and took a sip off its contents. 'This is too serious to be hazing but he's right. This place is the best of the best, so there's no choice but to give our all.'

'Tch! That stupid Deku's right…but if he thinks that's all I've got from that demonstration, he's dead wrong.' Bakugo thought with a small, arrogant smile while rotating his shoulder. Even the auburn haired girl and Toru gained confident expressions from his words.

'This kid…' Aizawa thought as he stared at Izuku for a bit before addressing his class once more. "Alright, demonstration's over. The real thing begins now."

TEST #1: 50m Dash

"On your marks…Get set…" A small robot with a camera for its head instructed before it played the sound of a gunshot, which signaled the start of the first test. Upon hearing the gunshot, the first two students began their dash. "3.04 seconds." It announced the results for the first student, which was Tenya.

'For 50 meters, I could only go up to third gear…' He reflected after completing his dash while the back of his calves were releasing smoke from small metal-pipe like holes.

' Tenya Iida. Quirk: Engine. On the back of his calves, he has car-like engines that make him incredibly fast.'

"He's like a fish in water." Shota commented while taking note of the results on his phone. "It'll be worth seeing what the others can do." He stated as he looked over to the other student who finished a few seconds after Iida, with her results being 5.58 seconds. She was short with a slender build and notably large hands. Her dark sea-green hair was waist-length and the ends were tied together at the bottom to form a large bow of hair. Her appearance, on the other hand, resembled that of a frog; her mouth was wide and dipped down a bit in the middle with her rather long tongue sticking out a bit and her oval-shaped eyes had large, black irises with its lower eyelashes were visibly pronounced.

' Tsuyu Asui. Quirk: Frog. She has a frog-like physique that allows her to do whatever a frog can.'

The next pair was the auburn haired girl and Toru. "Lighten up my clothes and shoes…" She said with a confident smile.

' Ochaco Uraraka. Quirk: Zero Gravity. She can nullify the gravitational pull of any objects she touches. However, if she goes over her limits, she'll get really nauseous.'

'Although I haven't mastered it completely, I can still use it in straight-forward situations like this!' The chartreuse haired girl proclaimed internally with a cherry grin as from her knee below was enveloped in a golden-yellow energy.

' Toru Hagakure. Quirk: Solar. She gradually intakes and stores solar energy in her body which she can use in various ways.' (2)

"Get set…" The robot once again announced as the two girls got into position. At the sound of the gunshot, Uraraka ran as fast as she could while Toru simply faded from the starting line before a footstep was heard for a second before she reappeared at the finish line. "2 seconds. (3)" It stated her results before announcing Ochaco's who just finished. "7.15 seconds."

'That was faster than how I was in Junior High!' Uraraka proudly noted internally as she reviewed her past and present results while pressing her fingertips together.

"What was that move she just used?" Aizawa asked himself as he looked at Toru. She simply fazed out of his vision before reappearing at the end of the dash with only a footstep sound being heard before her reappearance. Narrowing his eyes a bit, he mentally filed it away as something to look into later before signaling the next pair to go, in which two blonde haired students proceeded to the starting point.

The first blonde was a boy with a slim build and a feminine face. His hair was long and styled so that it was mainly flattened down around most of his head whilst being spiked and sticking out to the sides at the bottom, with a side fringe that slightly curved upwards before it curved down. His eyes were bright indigo in color and his eyelashes were notably long, giving him an appearance similar to that of a prince. The most distinguishable feature about him however, was the metallic lavender colored belt with a golden ring-shaped buckle in which contained a blue crystal that he wore.

The other blonde was a girl with a slightly toned build and fair skin. Her hair on the other hand, was styled in a half-up half-down bun with the exception of a clump of short bangs that hung above her forehead. Her face was round with bright blue eyes. Whilst she got into the starting position of a that of a runner, several pink, vein-like lines crossing through each other appeared on her body while golden energy that took the form of lightning bolts crackling around her body began to generate.

'I don't have a good grasp yet but this should do.' She assures herself mentally while waiting for the bot to give the signal to begin.

"Hm." Her fellow blonde opponent grunted with a small smile as he turned around. "All of you aren't being creative enough." He started as he placed his hands on his hips. "I'll show you what it's like…"

"On your marks…" The robot began whilst he was monologuing. "Get Set.."

"To be allowed to use your quirk!" He declared proudly as he quickly moved his hands to the back of his head and jumped into the air. Immediately after the robot gave them the signal to begin, a light blue laser shot out from the crystal of his belt that propelled him forward...only to fall to the ground midway before getting up once more and finishing the dash. His fellow blonde on the other hand, ran off towards the finish at rather high speeds.

"2.7 seconds. (4)" The robot recorded for the female blonde before noting the male blonde's time. "5.51 seconds."

'Yuga Aoyama. Quirk: Naval Laser. He can shoot a laser from his belly button, though he's limited by the amount of time he can shoot continuously.'

"Hm." Aoyama, who was facing away from everyone and had some dust covering parts of the back of his PE Uniform, grunted once more with his arms folded. Not long after, he unfolded them and turned around a bit with a small smile as some sparkles formed around him. "If I shoot for more than a second, I get a stomach ache." He clarified to his fellow blonde and the boy with black hair, a boy with spiky red hair and the boy with golden hair with a black lightning bolt like streak.

'What the Heck..?' They all thought in unison whilst having comical confused faces.

'Looking at one's upper limit of their quirk and the room for growth in each result, it becomes clear what you can and can't do.' Aizawa monologued internally as he watched Aoyama and the blonde-haired girl finish their dash. He then shifted his attention over to his daughter and Midoriya, who were about to begin theirs. 'That will connect to the creativity needed for you to survive.' He ended with narrowed eyes that glowed red and his hair began to float upwards as their dash began.

"3 seconds." The robot stated as the two finished.

'Just who are you…?' Izuku questioned as he stared at the girl next to him with narrowed eyes. While he will admit that was simply his raw speed without any enhancements from his Cursed Energy, he couldn't place his hands on why but he felt that the Aizawa next to him wasn't giving her all for that dash, which both intrigued and placed him on alert.

"You need something?" She inquired as she met his gaze. Shaking his head to signify no, the girl stared at him a bit with narrowed eyes before walking off.

TEST #5: Ball Throw

For the next three tests, the green eyed boy could confidently say that he was sitting in first place at the moment, with the only threat to that being Aizawa's daughter, Shizumi if he remembered correctly from the message of acceptance. In the Grip Strength test, he was only outclassed by a guy who wore a face mask and had several webbed arms who got the highest score of 540 kilograms, which sorta surprised him for a bit.

In the Standing Long Jump, he and almost everyone cleared the sand pit, with most notable ones being Bakugo and the weird belly laser guy. And finally, in the Repeated Side Steps, he was certain that top scorer for that was either him or Shizumi so overall, he had little to no worries about this test. Well…besides the fact it was boring him to death at the moment. 'I could've been in a heated battle with a villain or a random hero I chose to fight right about now but nooo…I chose to become a hero.' He internally mulled over with a dejected expression while the Ball Throw was taking place.

Currently, the only noteworthy mention for this test so far was the auburn haired girl, who basically got infinity as a score, which shocked everyone present, and the blonde haired girl, who got a score of 705.3 meters though her index finger looked swollen and purple in color. Speaking of the blonde girl, he couldn't help but notice how she used her quirk in the 50 meter Dash earlier. It simply felt off to him. 'Maybe she recently awakened her quirk and isn't too accustomed to it yet…' He theorized before promptly raising his hand up to his face to catch the ball that was launched at his face.

Narrowing his eyes he brought his hand, ball included, down to his side as his green eyes relocated themselves to the person who threw the ball. "We don't have all day Daydreamer." Aizawa reprimanded him whilst he made his way into the circle. After tossing the ball up and down a bit to get a proper feel to it, the green haired boy readied himself to do his throw…only to to stop moments before his toss.

"Is there a problem, Eraser head?" Izuku asked his new teacher with annoyance. The reason for his annoyance you ask? Well to answer that, just as Midoriya readied himself for the toss, Aizawa used the cloth around his neck to restrict the green haired boy's arm from going any further.

"I've noticed it since the Dash but you haven't been using your quirk like instructed. Why is that?" He interrogated as he released his arm from his binding cloth. This however, would prove to be a mistake as immediately after the cloth was removed from his arm, Izuku disappeared from the eyes of everyone present and reappeared in front of the Pro Hero with his right index and middle finger pointed at Aizawa's, now red, eyes that was widened in shock.

This action, as expected, caught everyone off guard as they looked on at their new teacher and classmates with a bead of sweat dripping down each of their faces due to the tension in the air. Afterall, it's not everyday that you see a greenhorn student catch a seasoned Pro Hero off guard. "You should know this by now, Eraser Head but in case you forgot, I'm not like these wet-behind-the-ear newbies. And to answer your question as to why I'm not using my quirk, it's quite simple really." The green haired boy began as he looked at the man before him. "The ability to assess what you can and can't do is detrimental to surviving in this world of ours. If you can't do that, you're basically dead." He explained as he removed his fingers from in front of the Hero's eyes and began to make his way back to the circle.

"I'm aware that my quirk can't be utilized for the majority of these tests. So what's the point of using it for this at all?" He concluded as he once again attempted to throw the ball, being successful this time around.

It didn't take long for Aizawa to regain his composure and look at the boy's results. "680 meters. (5)" He announced to his still shocked class. Looking at them all, he saw varying reactions from them all, with the main three being confusion, curiosity and unease.

'Deku…' Bakugo thought in sheer shock at what just transpired. He knew that the green haired boy was strong and fast but he didn't know it was to the point that he could catch a Pro Hero off guard. 'He also stated he had a quirk too…So why hide it?' He questioned as he clenched his fist.

'What does he mean by he's not like us wet-behind-the-ear newbies..?' Both Toru and the auburn haired girl pondered in confusion and awe.

'So he's had previous experience prior to coming to U.A? Interesting…'A boy who looked similar to Shirayuki with exception for the scar over his left eye noted.

'So you mean to tell me that all the Villain Points he gained in the Entrance Exam was from his raw strength?!' Ida asked himself internally he recalled the green haired boy's score from the Top Ten Examinees chart that was shown in the acceptance video and that the 0-Pointer he destroyed was worth, well, 0 villain points. 'So he wasn't bluffing when he said he would top the exam without using his quirk…' The glasses-wearing boy concluded as he looked at Midoriya in awe.

"Alright, let's continue." Aizawa announced in order to regain their attention and finish off the last three exams.

FINAL RESULTS

"Okay, I'll now show you all the final results." Eraser Head announced as he pulled out a phone from his pocket. Before he could continue however, Izuku raised his hand to ask a question. "Yes Midoriya?"

"After the results are shown, can I leave?" He asked in a bored tone with an expression to match it. If he was being brutally honest and down to earth, he knew that he placed first. After the Ball Throw, the last three exams were a walk in the park similar to the other five. He regularly trained so Sit Ups, Seated Toe-Touch and Long Distance Running were akin to a simple workout in his eyes and even in the event that he may lose points for his little performance against Aizawa, he'd still place first or even second in the event that Shizumi overtook him.

"Yes you may." Aizawa answered after a few seconds of thought. Whether he gave him permission to or not, he knew that Midoriya would leave either way, even if he was threatened with punishment for disobeying a teacher. 'I'll need to rethink my approach with him…' The Pro Hero mentally added to his To-Do List before picking up where he initially left off. "As I was saying, your results are basically a total of all the marks you've accumulated during these series of tests. It's a waste of time to explain all of the workings verbally so I'll just present all the results simultaneously." He ended whilst tapping on the phone, which projected the final results to the students.

1. Izuku Midoriya 11. Tomiko Yagi

2. Shizumi Aizawa 12. Mina Ashido

3. Momo Yaoyorozu 13. Ochaco Uraraka

4. Shoto Todoroki 14. Toru Hagakure

5. Katsuki Bakugo 15. Rikido Sato

6. Tenya Iida 16. Tsuyu Asui

7. Fumikage Tokoyami 17. Yuga Aoyama

8. Mezo Shoji 18. Hanta Sero

9. Mashirao Ojiro 19. Denki Kamanari

10. Eijiro Kirishima 20. Kyoka Jiro(6)

"Heh." Izuku grunted out with a small smirk as he began to leave, though he did note a petite, fair-skinned girl with chin length purple hair and what appeared to be plug-like earphone jacks attached to her earlobes began to panic. Feeling a bit of pity for the fear that has mostly overcome her due to the Hero's little threat, he decided to dismiss her from the dismay that plagued her. "Oi, earphone jacks." Seeing that he got her attention, he continued. "The threat of expulsion was a lie, so don't fret over getting removed from U.A. on your first day here." He reassured her with a small smile and soft tone before leaving the area to change.

This little explanation, though, left everyone present except Shizumi, a girl with black hair tied into a spiky ponytail and Aizawa himself flabbergasted.

'He just HAD to ruin my flow, huh?' Eraser Head thought with a bit of annoyance before regaining his weird grin and a mirthful expression. "He's right. It was a rational deception to draw out the upper limits of your Quirks."

"Huh?!" The majority of the class screamed out in shock.

"Of course it was a lie." The girl with the spiky ponytail stated as if it was obvious. "It should have been obvious if you had thought it through."

"At least someone here has a proper brain." Shizumi muttered as she rolled her eyes and began to leave the field as well. Afterall her father drilled these things into her skull from the moment she asked him to begin her training.

'I didn't notice…' The boy with black hair, the boy with golden hair and Kyoka thought simultaneously with shocked expressions as a bead of sweat fell down their faces.

"That was a bit nerve-wrecking huh?" The boy with black hair turned and asked a boy with spiky red hair.

"I'll take on the challenge anytime!" The spiky haired boy responded with a grin.

"With that, we're done for the day." Aizawa declared as he began to walk away. "There are handouts with the curriculum and so on in the classroom, so give them a look over once you return to class." He ordered as he pulled out a piece of paper with writing on it and gave it to the blonde girl with bright blue eyes. "Yagi, have the old lady deal with your finger in the nurse's office." He said before walking away.

'I'm still not there yet…' The now named Yagi thought in shame as she gripped the paper in her now clenched fist before leaving for the Nurse's Office.

A BIT AWAY FROM THE FIELD

"Aizawa, you liar!" A voice called out to Aizawa while he made his way back to the Staff Room. Stopping in his tracks, he turned around to identify the man that called out to him. He was a massive man with a well-defined and muscular physique that towered over Aizawa a bit. His facial features were chiseled; having a rather strong jawline and pronounced cheekbones. His blond hair was short and swept back, with the exception of two prominent tuffs that stuck above his head, each slightly leaning to the side. His eyebrows were rather bushy and his bright blue irises were the only identifiable feature from his eyes due to a shadow being overcasted on his face whilst his attire consisted of a yellow dress suit with thin black lines along with a white under shirt and a blue neck tie.

"Oh, All Might. So you were watching?" The tired looking Pro Hero questioned the now named All Might, who had his enclosed fists on his hips and adorned a large smile. "Too much time on your hands?" He asked as turned forward once more.

"A 'rational deception' you said?" All Might responded with a question of his own. "April Fools was last week, y'know? Last year, you punished the previous first years with expulsion." He revealed to Aizawa who still had his back turned. "Without hesitation, you remove those who you judge to have no potential but you went back on your word with this bunch…Could it be that you see the potential in this batch as well?"

"At least you're not playing favorites, especially since your daughter is in that batch." The black haired man grunted out with a mirthful smile. "I always remove those without potential. There's nothing crueler than ending one's dream mid-way after all." He concluded as he resumed his journey back to the Staff Room.

'Be prepared Tomiko…you and your new classmates won't have time to relax. The real deal begins tomorrow.' All Might thought with a sigh as he too, walked away.

AFTER SCHOOL

"What a boring day…" Midoriya grumbled as he made his way out of U.A. He had expected it to be a bit boring with all the regular subjects and had hoped that being in the Hero Course would at least be more entertaining, but this was more boring than he had expected! 'I wonder if I should do a casual patrol tonight or maybe begin bounty hunting…' His mulling however, was interrupted by a palm latching onto his shoulder and stopping him in his tracks. Turning around a bit he quickly identified the owner of the hand that stopped him to be Ida, who removed his hand after gaining the curly haired boy's attention.

"I know that we haven't started off on the right foot, and for that, I apologize." Ida began as he did a small bow with his apology before continuing. "But I must admit, you've surprised me time and time again with your perception on the different underlying messages in the challenges that we've faced so far." He complimented with a small smile as he and Izuku resumed walking away from the school compound. "I didn't even think about how Aizawa-sensei could have been encouraging us with a lie." He admitted whilst crossing his arms.

'Although he seemed annoying and nosy at our initial meeting, Ida seems to be just earnest.' Izuku deduced as he glanced over to the blue-haired boy.

"But I have a question for you." He began as Midoriya looked on with curiosity. "What did you mean by-"

"Hey! You two!" A voice called out to them which interrupted Ida.

"Are you guys heading to the station? Wait for us!" Another voice picked up as the two boys turned around.

"Oh? Hagakure and Infinity Girl?" Izuku said as they pinpointed the two girls running over to them.

"I'm Ochaco Uraraka." The auburn haired girl introduced herself. "You're Tenya Ida, and you're Deku Midoriya, right?"

"Deku?" Toru questioned her new friend in confusion.

"Is it not?" Uraraka questioned with a comical confused face. "I heard that Bakugo boy say 'Stupid Deku keeping his quirk a secret…That Bastard!' after you left the field." She informed them about what she heard from the male Bakugo.

"Oh..my real name is Izuku. Deku is what Bakugo calls me after I told him and Miyu a certain piece of information." The green eyed boy admitted with a sheepish but slightly annoyed expression, giving the other three context of the origin of the name.

"An insult?" Ida inquired as he placed his thumb and index finger across his chin in thought whilst Midoriya nodded in confirmation.

"Oh, is that right? Sorry!" Ochaco apologized as she rubbed the back of her head. "But Deku sounds like the Japanese word for 'You can do it!' so I kinda like it." She explained with a smile.

"I guess you can call me Deku if you'd like." Izuku stated with a shrug.

"Midoriya?" Tenya called in shock and confusion. "Wasn't it an insult? You're accepting this too easily!" The glasses-wearing boy argued with the green haired boy, only to receive a shrug as an answer.

"Meh." Hagakure began with an unimpressed expression. "Midori, although it may be unoriginal, rolls off the tongue better so I'll stick with that." She finished with a smug grin and closed eyes while nodding her head up and down.

"Anyways. Shall we continue to the station now?" Izuku asked his new found friends. Upon seeing their nods of approval, they began their journey to the station to return to their respective homes. 'I guess these guys aren't that bad in terms of company. I do wonder if they would be up for training and sparring though..' He pondered as they walked.

THE NEXT DAY: U.A. HIGH SCHOOL

'Let's hope that Hero Basics Training is actually fun, or I'm gonna lose my mind!' Midoriya thought from his seat in their Homeroom Class. For the most part, the school day so far was nothing but extremely dull in his eyes. They had their regular classes in the morning followed up by lunch but none of these things provided a proper boredom relief at all. 'Not to mention that I didn't find any villains to fight at all last night!' Hence why he was gambling on their next class, which was Hero Basics Training, on being combat oriented.

"I am…"A voice cried as the classroom door was loudly opened. "Coming through the door like a normal person." All Might, who was the owner of the voice, declared as he entered the classroom..in a way that a normal person wouldn't enter. Unlike yesterday when he confronted Aizawa, he was now dressed in his Silver Age hero costume. His grand entrance, of course, gained the attention of the students who now have flabbergasted expressions, with the exception of one Tomiko Yagi who was simply happy.

"It's All Might!" The boy with golden hair started with a small grin.

"Wow, he really is a teacher here!" The boy with spiky red hair mentioned with a grin while raising his fist.

"That's a costume from the Silver Age, isn't it?" Tsuyu pointed out as the Number 1 Pro Hero marched over to the teacher's podium with his signature grin.

"It's a style so different that it's giving me goosebumps." A boy with blonde hair, which was swept to the front of his head, commented in awe.

"Good afternoon students! As you may have guessed by me being present at this time, I teach Hero Basic Training here at UA." The towering blonde man began from in front of the class. "It's a subject where you train in various ways to learn the basics of being a hero. You'll take the most units in this subject!" After finishing his quick summary of the subject, All Might then turned around and struck a muscle flexing pose. "With that brief explanation aside, let's get right into it! This is what we'll do today-" With a quick turn to face the class once more, the muscular man outstretched his right hand to reveal a white flashcard saying 'BATTLE'. "COMBAT TRAINING!" The Pro Hero declared.

"Combat…" Bakugo began with a large grin but was interrupted by a loud noise from behind him, which gained everyone's attention. What was the cause of the sound you ask? Well, it was one Izuku Midoriya. But not your typical Izuku, mind you. What greeted the occupants of the class was the green eyed boy standing in a T-pose, in which his forearms were slightly bent upwards, his palms facing the ceiling and his head tilted upwards, along with a wide grin and tears streaming from his eyes.

'My gamble was a success!' He sobbed out in joy at the chance of being able to cure his boredom, completely oblivious to the bewildered looks he was receiving.

"Ahem." All Might cleared his throat to get the attention of the overjoyed boy. "Young Midoriya, are you alright?" The Hero questioned the boy in concern of his weird behaviour. With the mention of his name, Izuku was brought out of his miniature moment of bliss.

"My apologies All Might…I just got a bit overjoyed for a moment there." Izuku clarified as he took out his handkerchief to wipe his tears. Once he regained his composure, he picked up his fallen seat and sat down once more, still oblivious to the bewildered looks he was receiving.

"Where was I…? Right! Now, what's better to go along with Combat Training than these?!" He quizzed as he turned to point at the wall to his right, which began to open out in four parts. Once fully opened, the wall segments revealed large silver briefcases that had a number from 01-20. "Within these briefcases, are costumes made based on your quirk registrations and requests that you sent in before school began." The blonde man proclaimed, which resulted in the students verbally expressing their surprise. "After you've changed, please gather in Ground Beta!" The Hero Basics Teacher instructed before leaving.

GROUND BETA

"They say that the clothes make the man, young men and ladies." All Might quoted as the Students of Class A and another group of students entered the Training Grounds in their Hero Costumes. "Be fully aware that from now on, you're all heroes!" He informed the now assembled group of students. "Now, I forgot to mention this earlier to both your classes but today will be a joint training rather than a single class training!" The #1 Hero clarified upon seeing their confused expressions. "I put this in place so that there won't be any animosity between Class A and Class B in the future. No matter what class you were assigned to, don't ever forget that you all are aspiring for the same title; Pro Hero! This will also serve as training for future team ups, as you won't know which hero you'll be working with." All Might conclude his explanation to the two classes.

Taking a moment to observe their costumes, All Might's grin grew wider as his face expressed respect and admiration. "I must admit, you all look extremely cool! Now then, shall we begin, you zygotes?!" Just as he finished his question, Izuku entered the training grounds clad in his costume. Said costume consisted of a dark blue jacket with golden buttons, which kept unbuttoned to reveal a dark green undershirt, loose dark blue martial arts pants that stopped just above his ankles, black martial arts slippers and a dark green sash around his waist.

"Oh, Deku?" Uraraka called out after putting on her white headgear. "What a simple yet cool costume!" She complimented after looking him over. Izuku however, gained a blush on his face due to her costume. "I should've been more clear on what I wanted my suit to be like." She admitted while sheepishly rubbing the back of her head with an embarrassed blush and smile decorating her face. "It ended up being too curvy and puffy." With or without her comment, Izuku couldn't help but observe her costume. It was mainly a black full bodysuit with a pale pink design going down the middle of her torso, along with two pink stripes starting at her midsection and two small vertical black dots in the pink area. Around her neck was a choker that was a deeper shade of pink and her sleeves were two tones of pink with cuffs. Around her wrists were a pair of round gauntlets with handles, the former pale pink in color and the latter a darker shade. She also wore a pair of pale pink chunky, knee high boots with soles that were of a darker shade, along with a two piece belt with a round buckle. (7)

'First the uniforms, now the costumes!' He mentally noted, with his blush still present.

"Now then, let's begin today's session!" All Might declared with a clap of his hands to regain everyone's attention. Before he could continue, a student in several pieces of silver armor raised their hand.

"Sensei!" The student's voice, which belonged to Ida, called out. "This is Battle Center B from the Entrance Exam, so does that mean we'll be conducting urban battles again?" He inquired after he made his observation.

"Nope. We're moving two steps further!" The Pro Hero clarified whilst raising two fingers to deliver his message fully. "Usually, fighting villains takes place outside in the open but if you were to look at the numbers, the rate in which indoor villain fights takes place is much higher. Between imprisonment, house arrest and black market deals, in our hero filled society," He paused a bit to clear his throat, "The highly intelligent villains lurk in the shadows! As this is a group of forty, ten from each class will be split into the Hero Team and the Villain Team and face each other in a series of Four-On-Four Indoor Battles."

"Without any basic training?" Tsuyu asked.

"These battles will help you grasp those basics!" The blonde man explained. "The difference with this however, is that there aren't any robots that you'll simply beat up."

"How will Victories and Defeats be determined?"

"Can I just blast them away?"

"Will we be expelled if we fail like with Aizawa-Sensei?"

"How will we be split up?"

"Isn't my cape fabulous?"

"I'll answer all your questions!" All Might declared while slightly shaking with some beads of sweat forming on his face. He then proceeded to take out a small instruction booklet and began to read from it. "Please listen up."

'Are you kidding me right now…?' Izuku thought with a deadpan expression as he stared at the Number One Hero.

"This situation is that a group of villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere within their five-story hideout. The group of heroes' mission is to find and secure either the villains or the weapon within an allotted amount of time. The villains' mission is to protect the weapon at all cost until the time runs out or to capture the heroes. In terms of team selection, those will be determined by draw lots!" The Symbol of Peace finished his summary of the exercise and was now holding a yellow box labeled 'LOTS'.

'Sounds like an American approach!' Tomiko noted with an excited smile.

"Is that truly the best way?" Ida asked in shock, only to be answered by Midoriya.

"It's like he said earlier, this will serve as a simulation on how Pro Heroes get assigned to team up missions." The green haired body reminded him about the Pro's miniature rant that he heard on his way in.

"Oh right…My apologies Sensei, please excuse my lapse in memory!" Ida apologized with a bow.

"No worries! Now let's get this show on the road!" All Might declared while walking forward to begin the lot draws, and after two minutes, the pairs were as follows:

Pair A: Izuku Midoriya, Shizumi Aizawa, Ibara Shiozaki, Miyuki Bakugo

Pair B: Fumikage Tokoyami, Yuga Aoyama, Manga Fukidashi, Kojiro Bondo

Pair C: Ochaco Uraraka, Mezo Shoji, Shihai Kuroiro, Itsuka Kendo

"Now that you've all drawn your lots, let's move onto the assignment of teams!." The Heroics teacher announced as he took out a phone, one that Izuku recognized was similar to the one Aizawa used for his Quirk Assessment, and tapped on the screen. A blue light then emerged from the top of the phone and scanned the entire group of students once before it disappeared. "The lots that you've drawn were specially made for exams like this. Within them are microchips that would aid with the sorting of the teams so as to not waste time." He explained before once again, tapping on the phone's screen. This time however, a list of matchups along with the names of everyone in their assigned teams were presented.

HEROES VS VILLAINS

Team A VS Team D

Team B VS Team E

Team C VS Team F

Team G VS Team I

Team H VS Team J

Watching at the line up, Izuku could help but at his lineup. "A team of the Top Ten students from the Entrance Exams against a team with one of the Top Three students along with some unknowns…this should be entertaining enough." The green boy muttered to himself in sheer excitement. 'Well then, let's put on an interesting first match.' He thought to himself as a wide, predatory grin spread across his face.

Author's Notes

1) Given that Midoriya is quite intelligent and that he's had some experience already in this fic's timeline, I figured that Aizawa's speech would fit him in this case.

2) I reworked Hagakure's quirk for this fic (It might stay that way for any other Mha fics I may do) as her original quirk is sorta boring, and we basically know what she looks like now (Manga readers and probably some anime-only, that is) and continuing keeping her invisible seem kinda lame to me so yeah, expect to see her fight more than she did in the manga.

3) Yeah…I'm not getting into power scaling and trying to argue that she can move at lightspeed (Which was extremely fast when I looked it up, so yeah…2 seconds is a good score for her).

4) Again, I'm not trying to get into power scaling and seeing that we never truly saw the speed in which an OFA user can move at 1-4%, I'll make my own estimate.

5) Yuji didn't do this test (obviously) so I don't have a definite score to give Midoriya. Though the fact that he did throw a lead ball with such ease and enough power to dent a metal post and both pick up and throw a car is enough for me to give the score I did for this test.

6) Please don't think that I hate Jirou. I had no choice in her placement and due to her lack of physical strength, especially to those that were in 15th-19th place, my hands were tied.

7)I have no clue why but describing her costume using the Mha Wiki completely confused me in some cases. But you should know what her first costume looks like by now. If not, well just google 'Ochaco Uraraka First Costume' and you'll see what it looks like.

Hey Everyone! It's been a while since I've last updated and I do apologize. I haven't abandoned this fic nor my Naruto one, I've just been extremely busy over the vacation and with school opening back soon, I'll try my best to work on both fics and have them out for you to read. And in terms of the Harem, I've already decided to use a predetermined amount of girls, so I apologize in advance if any of the girls recommended didn't make the cut. But I do have one question in terms of the next chapter… "What type of girls are you into?"

Until next time!
