I do not own one thing that has anything to do with Batman or Pokemon.
While on his way to Striaton City, the location most aspiring Pokemon trainers go to to get their first gym badge, Bruce decided to take a small break since he had been walking for some time now. He could easily walk many miles more, but he knew he needed to take a moment to evaluate what he was going to do next.
"Okay. I got a Pokemon, now what. If I were Bat-Mite, what would my next move be?"wondered Bruce to himself, trying to understand the mind of his biggest fan.
He knew he was sent here just to settle a bet between two beings from the fifth dimension, so he doubt it he could go anytime soon even if he could find the technology necessary to send him back home. Plus, he had no doubt that he was being watched at this very moment by the very being who sent him here in the first place. So Bruce had to be smart about this. He just had to continue playing Bat-Mite's little game until he can figure out a way to get out of this.
After all, this isn't the first time this imp has messed with him.
"For now, I should feed Tepig."said Bruce before he pulled out the pokeball and let out his pokémon outside.
"Tep."said the fire pig Pokemon.
Bruce then pulled out some Pokemon food he was given to by Professor Juniper and handed it over to the fire pig Pokemon. Tepig sniffs the food for a few seconds before he begins eating. A couple of moments later, he finished his meal.
"Now let's see if there's a stream nearby to get you some fresh water."said Bruce, who quickly noticed that this world was a lot cleaner than the world he was from.
He noticed that this civilization seemed to be a perfect balance between nature and civilization. So he had a distinct feeling that the water was a lot cleaner than anything anywhere near Gotham City.
Tepig quickly began sniffing for a stream before he pointed in that direction north. Bruce followed him, and about 5 minutes later, the two of them arrived at a stream.
"Well, that was convenient."said Bruce to himself, while his starter Pokemon went over to the stream to get a drink.
As Tepig was drinking his water from the stream, Bruce couldn't shake the feeling they were being watched. He knew this feeling all too well during his long career as Batman. So he quickly looked around and saw that something was watching them from a nearby bush.
"Come on out!"shouted Bruce, causing the Pokemon that was inside the bush to come out.
The Pokemon in question is a simian, green-and-cream Pokémon. It has oval, black eyes, large ears with light green insides, and a tiny, black nose. There is a broccoli-like sprout atop its head. In the sprout's foliage are three yellow, tapered seed-like shapes. Its muzzle, upper body, and skinny forelimbs are cream-colored, and its hands seem to have no fingers, aside from a thumb. The Pokemon's lower body is green with small feet, and its long tail is tipped with two leaves.
"Who's that Pokemon?"Bruce wondered while pulling out his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon in front of him.
Pokedex: Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokemon. Pansage offers leaves on its head to Pokémon that have low energy. The leaves relieve stress.
"So your grass type Pokemon. You could definitely be helpful against water type Pokemon, whom Tepig has a type disadvantage against."said Bruce, deciding then and there to catch the grass monkey Pokemon.
Pansage looked at Bruce and quickly deduced what was going on. Tepig quickly jumped in front of his trainer as soon as he was done drinking water and began dragging his foot into the ground to indicate he was ready to fight.
Pansage in that moment immediately tried to attack with scratch attack!
"Dodge it."instructed Bruce, causing the fire pig Pokemon to jump out of the way, avoiding getting hit with scratch.
Next, Pansage quickly tried to use Vine Whip by extending two green vines from its neck and extended it towards Tepig with the intention of striking him!
"Dodge again!"instructed Bruce, causing Tepig to once again jump out of the way.
"Use flame charge!"ordered Bruce, causing the fire pig Pokemon to surround his body with flames before charging at the grass monkey Pokemon.
"Pan!"said the grass monkey Pokemon, as Pansage was not ready to deal with a fire attack.
It immediately tried to jump out of the way, but it was struck before it had a chance! Pansage in that moment took a super effective hit from flame charge! It was then pushed back before it began wheezing to catch its breath.
"Use ember!"ordered Bruce, causing the fire pit Pokemon to take in a deep breath before shooting a small blast of flame from his snout.
Pansage immediately jumped out of the way before trying to attack Tepig with a scratch attack again!
"Use tackle!"ordered Bruce, causing Tepig to run towards Pansage and tackle it, canceling out the scratch attack.
Pansage was then launched into the air from the tackle attack before he fell down and hit the floor. It was a parent that it did not want to give up, based on the fact that it tried getting up.
"You certainly have some guts. Now, let's add you to the team! Go, pokeball!"yelled Bruce before he pulled out a poké ball from his belt and threw it.
He easily hit his target thanks to his years of hitting bad guys with batarangs! Pansage was immediately hit by the pokeball before it bounced off its head. It then opened up and absorbed the grass monkey Pokemon inside! Once the grass monkey Pokemon was successfully inside the ball did it closed before it fell to the floor and began wiggling. Bruce and Tepig held their breath as they waited to see what happened next. A couple of moments later, the ball stopped moving, and a click sound was heard.
This indicated that the grass monkey Pokemon had been successfully captured!
"Yes!"said Bruce as he calmly walked over and picked up the pokeball.
"We just caught a Pansage!"said Bruce while holding the pokeball high in the air.
"Now that I finally have a new member to the team, I'm one step closer to getting out of the situation. Now, I want to make it to Striaton City and challenge the gym leader for my first gym badge. I wonder what kind of gym leader he or she is. Either way, they will know the taste of defeat."said Bruce with confidence since he had no plans of losing.
"Tepig!"said the fire pig Pokemon, determined to get his trainer a victory.
"Now, how about we do some special training with some wild Pokemon before we challenge the gym leader?"said Bruce, inquiring if Tepig wanted to go along with that.
The fire pig Pokemon instantly agreed! Soon, the two went deeper into the brush so that they could challenge some wild pokémon to get some more experience! Bruce did need to understand Pokemon better, as his usual tactics were not going to work in this situation!
Now all he and his Pokemon had to do was get ready to get to Striaton City, where he would challenge the gym leader for a gym badge!

Moves: scratch, vine whip
Short chapter, but this was only put out to put up some build-up for the upcoming chapter. Next chapter, Bruce and Tepig will challenge one of the Striaton City gym leaders for the basic badge!
