CHAPTER 01: ISSUES
7:18 AM
It is a late morning in Piedmont, California. The wealthiest town in all of California. The sun is about to rise, and everyone's day is about to start fresh. At the house of the Pines', Dipper is journaling a bit and doodling, while Mabel is sitting in her room listening to "Eternal Minutes," the folk knock-off of one of Mabel's now hated boy-bands, Sev'ral Timez, by some Native Alaskan-American record and vinyl dealer. The music wasn't bad, but it could've used a bit of touch-ups.
The mother, Caryn Romanoff Pines, knocks on Dipper's door.
DIPPER: "Come in!"
Caryn then reminds Dipper for his and Mabel's school, Eggbert Elementary.
CARYN: "Dipper, the bus will be here in about six minutes. Make sure you get ready for your day, son!"
Dipper then replies.
DIPPER: "Alright, mom."
So then, Dipper chooses his clothes for the day, goes into the bathroom and changes. Caryn then goes to Mabel's room and basically tells her the same thing. Dipper walks out of the bathroom, grabs his "TRUCKS" backpack and walks out the door to the bus stop. Mabel also walks out of the second bathroom, but Mabel's a bit slower by two minutes. The bus then arrives and they sit in their assigned seats.
The bus is almost a bit normal, but there's always kids talking about a guy named Billy Glympton and his apparent scandalous accusations or teenagers talking about Robbie V, that one emo dude who always digs his own holes in local graveyards because of some woman named "Wendy Corduroy" who dumped him many months ago. Obviously, Dipper and Mabel knew who Robbie and Wendy were.
After being on the bus for around twenty minutes, they finally arrived at their elementary school. Dipper and Mabel were now in 8th grade, but since they were twins, they were put into different classrooms. Dipper's only favorite class was 'history,' but he also kinda liked 'geography' class.
DIPPER'S TEACHER: "Hello, students. Today, we are going to learn about the Binghamton plot and the ruling of Queen BiBi I of Boredland. Turn to page 143 on your 'History 101' book. Page 143 should lead you to the section 'The Oldalott Dynasty and King Hank the 8/4th'."
Obviously, this was a new subject to Dipper and, as always, he was intrigued since this was about a century 1/2 long dynasty. Of course the history of this HAD to be interesting. So, the teacher talked and talked and played videos of the history on AnyPipe, a rumored knock-off of some lost video-sharing site. Dipper felt more and more intrigued.
The school bell rang and the students moved on to their next class: Literature.
Literature was easier than the others. All you had to do was sit there and listen to a lesson about the special importance of structures for writing. The literature teacher then handed out a basic six-question test. It was fairly easy, even on an 8th grader level. The bell rang yet again and then the day continued until the end of the day.
1:25 AM
The bell ended, signaling that the school day was over. Dipper and Mabel got back on their bus and waited for their destination. 20 more minutes later, they made it back to their home. When they got back, Caryn asked how their day went.
CARYN: "So, how was your day at school?"
They both replied.
DIPPER + MABEL: "Good."
Even though they were back home, they still have to live with the same issues they always have at their house. Their family situation is a bit jumbled up. Their father, Filbrick Elmer Pines, was an avid gambler and usually wasted around 50 dollars when gambling. This is usually a big problem since the money wasted was needed to collect food to provide for everyone. However, Filbrick sees this as some "malarkey".
Nonetheless, Dipper goes back into his room, and so does Mabel. Dipper listens to some "girly-pop" songs from music groups like "Ginger" (Blondie knock-off), The Arrow Gals (The Pointer Sisters knock-off), The Plums (The Diamonds knock-off) etc. Mabel read books because she has a new hobby of book collecting. A new hobby aside from finding new love interests to cat-call.
10:02 PM
It was almost midnight and it was almost time for Dipper and Mabel to go to bed. Mabel went to bed. She put on her headphones and turned on her vinyl radio so she could sleep easy with some calming tunes. Before Dipper went to bed, he decided to journal his thoughts and personal experiences because he felt like that was what was most important before bedtime

I don't know what to feel. I don't think I ever had this much confusion in my life. From feeling like I was misunderstood to being a crazy person who has some obsession with the strange and unusual side of things. I just have some weird percent of confusion that I don't think there's any way I could fix it. What is this confusion you may ask? I'm confused about why we were forced to move here in Piedmont. I've heard from some random person that the rich are usually selfish and the selfish people try to redeem themselves. Now I feel like I'm a selfish person. I don't know why I feel like a selfish one. Every time I think of when we were back at Oregon, I just want to wish and wish I could stay there forever. With Stan. With Great Uncle Ford. I miss them...
