Chapter two, baby! Yes, I know the title sucks, but I was out of ideas. It's listed in my doc manager as "acnh thing". I want to put my HHD code thingy in a future chapter, so stay tuned! Please leave reveiws, and I might respond to them later.

Meredith handed a sandwich plate meal to a cat. Then she handed colorful juice to a squirrel. Then she brought another sandwich plate meal to a human and a kangaroo. Then she got a koala a blood orange juice. Then she ducked into the kitchen, to take a quick break. After 10 minutes, it was back to business. She ran to and fro in the little café, serving orders. After what seemed like forever, the clock struck 5, and she was free to go home. Meredith hopped onto a boat to go to one of the islands. Once the boat docked in front of a house, she disembarked and headed inside. A pink kangaroo waved her in, and the joey in her pouch mimicked the gesture. After a quick scan, Meredith found her child, who was playing with dolls in a corner. She walked over to separate her reluctant toddler from the dinosaur fight scene she was staging alongside a baby horse. Then, after handing the marsupial some Poki, she got back on the boat with her daughter. Then she rode the boat to a different island. This one was where her apartment was. When she walked into her small, cluttered room, she immediately breathed a sigh of relief as she put down her child. Then she made dinner. After her daughter was asleep, she turned on the TV. After about an hour of watching news, she fell asleep on the couch.

The next morning, Meredith walked out of the apartment with her toddler, to start the day again. But, when she came home after a long day of waiting tables, she saw a notice on her door. RENT HAS BEEN INCREASED TO 10,000 POKI PER WEEK, it said. All day long, she thought about the note. She only made half of that in a month, she thought as she dropped off her daughter. She had only just been able to pay her rent before, she thought as she put on her waitress uniform. How could she afford to keep a roof over her head? As Meredith delivered yet another sandwich plate meal, she accepted that she would have to find a new home. Maybe she could room with someone. The Nook College students were always talking about housing, and roommating always seemed to be the solution. She'd go on the Web after work to look for potential roommates, but for now, she had a sandwich plate meal to drop off.

Ophelia had just gotten off a call with her parents. There had been a lot of cussing from her parent's end and a lot of insistence that she wasn't coming home until she fulfilled her dreams from hers. The sun was setting as she sat at the register of the apparel shop, sketching clothing designs. Ophelia dreamed of becoming a famous designer, and that dream was slowly starting to see the light of day. The clothing shop owner had displayed some of her designs in the store, and they had sold really well. This was the beginning of her rise as a fashion designer. The only problem was that she was broke, and not sure where to stay. She had slept in a hammock outside for the past month, just like that one YouTuber. If her parents knew, they would probably demand she come home and find a husband, or maybe even come get her. This cashier job was paying well enough, so she could pay for food, at least. Judy, the store owner, hung up the 'closed' sign, signaling Ophelia that it was time to go find some trees to set up her hammock. She really needed to find a house. She checked her phone. Twelve new texts from her parents, eleven asking for updates on her location, the last being a string of cuss words. Scrolling up, she saw every day of this past month had followed the same trend. Past that, there was almost nothing. Wow, her parents were really toxic, she thought as she set up her hammock. She laid down in it, and went to sleep.
