"This place is nice and quiet," Rei-sempai said, as the four of them looked out over the lake, past the railing that bordered the observation deck they were standing on. "You said your parents first met here, Trevor-kun?"

"Yeah, they met in this park," he said, smiling as best he could, considering where they all were; this place did make him feel closer to them, sure, but it also reminded him that they were gone, too.

"Sometimes Trevor-nii asks to come out here, so he can feel closer to them," Usagi said, looking at him with a sad kind of expression on her face.

He tried to smile better, since it looked like he was starting to make her sad, too.

"Yeah, I guess that would be something I'd do, too," Rei-sempai said.

"I didn't know you knew about this place, too, Ami-san," he said, turning to her, feeling more than a little curious.

"Oh, I always come here to read on my day off from cram school," Ami-san said. "I just didn't know this place was so special to you, Trevor-kun."

"It's really not the kind of thing that comes up in conversation," he said, as the four of them made their way down from the observation deck beside the lake and back down into the park proper.

"Kokuritsu-san!" Ami-san called, before Trevor could do the same.

"Ami-chan, Trevor-kun," Kokuritsu-san called back, smiling as he stood up from the flowerbed he'd been tending, leading their group over to a pair of park benches where they all settled down.

"So, you're in charge of taking care of this whole park by yourself?" Usagi asked, once the four of them had taken their seats on the pair of benches bordering another flowerbed.

Looking around at the familiar landscaping, Trevor felt the same mix of nostalgic sadness that had always gripped him when he returned to this place; the place that his parents had loved. The place where they'd met, and the place where they would come back to, both on their anniversary and on his birthday. It was one of the traditions that his and Usagi's parents tried to keep up.

"Trevor-kun, I'm sorry," Kokuritsu-san said, a sad expression on his face. "I'm so sorry."

"What do you mean, Kokuritsu-san?" he asked, feeling an odd sort of chill traveling up his spine to settle at the base of his neck. "What's happening?"

"The landowner sold the park," Kokuritsu-san said, lowering his head sadly. "His plan is to build a large business complex. I'm sorry; I tried to talk him out of it, but…"

"What…?" even with the sun shining down on him, Trevor felt cold.

"I'm sorry," Kokuritsu-san said, shaking his head sadly. "And it's not just your parents; all of the birds, and the animals are going to have nowhere to go. And the plants are going to be cleared to make room for the complex they're going to be building."

Trevor wrapped his arms around himself, feeling almost the same type of coldness seeping into him as he'd felt when the Dark Kingdom had attacked him, so many times before. Feeling two pairs of warm arms wrapping around him, Trevor looked around. Usagi and Rei-sempai were holding him from both sides, and as Trevor reached out for them in turn, he shuddered.

It wasn't right, none of this was right, but there wasn't anything he could do about it; it was too late.

"Isn't there anything we could do to help, Kokuritsu-san?" Usagi asked, holding his hands between both of her own.

"No, I'm afraid there isn't," Kokuritsu-san said, standing up and making his way back over to the flowerbed that he seemed to have been working on before they'd all come to meet with him. "I'm so sorry, Trevor-kun."

Trevor-nii hadn't said a word since they'd left Kokuritsu-san and the park he worked at, and Usagi had worried for him ever since they'd heard the news about what was happening to the park where his parents had first met. Spotting Mamoru-baka up ahead, Usagi tried to hold back a sigh. She only hoped that he'd at least be nicer to Trevor-nii than he always was to her.

Especially after everything that had happened.

"Hey, what's going on?" Mamoru-baka asked, making his way over to the four of them.

"It's just… I…" Trevor-nii tried to say, breath heavily, tears gathering in the corners of his eyes as he curled in on himself.

Mamoru-baka handed Luna-sensei right over to Ami-chan, then wrapped his right arm around Trevor-nii's shoulders. "Come on, I know a café near here," he said, after letting Trevor-nii collect himself a bit while they were all walking. "We can talk there."

"Yeah," she said, going over to hold Trevor-nii's right hand, taking out a tissue so she could help Trevor-nii wipe his eyes. "That would be nice, wouldn't it, Trevor-nii?"

Trevor-nii nodded, though it didn't seem like he was quite ready to talk yet.

~SM~

Keeping an eye on Trevor-kun, as he and the rest of the girls his kohai had been traveling with all settled down at their table in the café, Mamoru wondered what could have gone so wrong that Trevor-kun hadn't even wanted to talk. Not just about what was bothering him, but about anything at all. Usagi-san – who was a good sister, even if she acted like a silly little kid most of the time – was trying to comfort him as best she could.

She'd ordered him a large mug of hot chocolate, and while she'd ordered herself one as well, Mamoru could still tell that she was trying to help her brother.

As Trevor-kun drank his hot chocolate, Mamoru turned to Usagi as she set down her own mug.

"We heard that they're going to tear down the park where Trevor-nii's parents first met," Usagi said, once it had become clear that Trevor-kun wasn't up to talking. "I mean, the ones he had before he got adopted."

Mamoru nodded, feeling his fingers clench around the cup of coffee he'd been drinking; he might not have had any memories of his own parents – or any of his life from before the car crash that had killed the both of them – but he knew how he'd have probably felt if something like that was happening to a place he could have used to remember them. If he could have remembered them at all.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Trevor-kun," he said, reaching out to gently squeeze Trevor-kun's nearby left hand.

"Thank you, Mamoru-sempai," Trevor-kun said, giving him a watery smile. "I appreciate your support."

Usagi was looking at him, and for a long moment Mamoru found himself wondering what she was thinking, and what she might do or say. Still, she didn't actually say anything, so Mamoru settled back into his seat. Thinking about what was happening to Trevor-kun brought back thoughts of what had happened to him; thoughts of the car crash that had taken not only his parents and his memories away from him.

He didn't know, really, which was worse: to lose his parents and to know he'd lost them, or to lose them and all the memories of his life before and after the accident that had taken them.

None of what had happened to Trevor-kun had anything to do with him, however, so it probably wasn't right for him to think about his past when Trevor-kun was the one suffering. Ordering himself another coffee, as the rest of Trevor-kun's friends ordered dessert for themselves and Trevor-kun ordered himself another hot chocolate, Mamoru settled back into his seat.

He was glad to see that Trevor-kun was starting to recover, at least.

They'd stopped by the Crown Game Center, once Trevor-nii was feeling better and could actually enjoy himself with all of the games, and Usagi made sure to keep an eye on him even as she sat down at the Sailor V game she'd enjoyed so much. She looked over, smiling slightly as she saw Rei-chan sitting down next to Trevor-nii. It was nice to see that Rei-chan was looking after Trevor-nii.

Grumbling as she lost the game, Usagi made her way over to where Trevor-nii and Rei-chan were sitting.

"I'm really sorry to hear that, Trevor-kun," Motoki-kun said, and Usagi found herself smiling.

Not just because it was Motoki-kun, but because Trevor-nii looked like he was feeling a lot better, even after everything that had happened.

"Thank you for your support, Motoki-sempai," Trevor-nii said, smiling softly up at him.

"You know what else might make you feel better?" Rei-chan said, after staring at Trevor-nii for a long time. "We could go on a date, you know, to that park? One last time."

"You want to go on a date, Rei-sempai?" Trevor-nii asked, tilting his head in that way he did when he was confused.

"I just think it might make you feel better," Rei-chan said, reaching out to take both of Trevor-nii's hands in both of her own.

"Thank you, Rei-sempai, that sounds nice."

Usagi couldn't help but smile, herself, as Rei-chan squeezed Trevor-nii's hands.

When he'd managed to find the next human that his divinations had pointed him to, Nephrite found him contemplating a way to save the animals that called this place – clearly due to be destroyed, if the work he was looking down on was any indication – home. And perhaps more; the stars truly had led him to a rich harvest of energy with this one.

"Why can't you save it?" he asked, in response to the human's query about saving the animals in this place.

"What?" the human asked, turning in his direction, a startled expression on his weathered face. "Who are you?"

"Humans have stopped respecting the power of nature," Nephrite said, making his way over to the small cliff where the human had been watching the machinery at work. "It's your duty to show those arrogant humans the fury of nature."

"Me?" the human asked, sounding confused and more than a little helpless.

"Yes," he said, pinning the old human in place with a single hand, narrowing his eyes in concentration.

Implanting one of his own, powerful youma within the old human's hat, he took another moment to give the youma instructions, before leaving. The human would do as his desire bid him to, and the energy he generated would be food for the youma soon to be born. Now, all Nephrite had to concern himself with was find a way to entrap that schoolboy that Queen Beryl had described to him.

His first attempt had been rather lacking, he could admit, but this was his chance to correct that oversight.

The next day, after they'd all attended their respective classes, Rei quickly made her way to Usagi-chan and Trevor-kun's house. She'd promised Usagi-chan's older brother a date, though that had mostly been a way to make him feel better after everything he'd been forced to deal with. Still, Trevor-kun was kinder than anyone other than Usagi-chan herself, and even though his psychic abilities tended more towards healing and shielding, he still clearly respected her as a teacher.

He was also gentle, soft-spoken, and sweet enough that she didn't mind the prospect of spending time with him at all.

When she arrived in Usagi-chan's neighborhood, Rei found that she and her brother had already left their house and were clearly on their way to meet with her, in turn.

"Thank you, Rei-sempai," Trevor-kun said, a gentle smile on his face as she reached out to take his offered hand. "It was very kind of you to offer this."

"Don't mention it, Trevor-kun," she said, as the pair of them fell into step with a smiling Usagi-chan.

"Yeah, Rei-chan, you're a really good friend," Usagi-chan said, smiling widely.

Rei smiled, feeling warmed by the kindness the both of them were offering her. The three of them continued on their way to the park where Trevor-kun's parents had first met, and Rei took his hand in both of hers as the park came into sight. She couldn't hear the sounds of the construction crew who were presumably tearing down the park, but she suspected they were there, all the same.

But, as the three of them made their way into the park, Rei shuddered as she felt the evil aura that seemed to have settled over this beautiful place like some kind of a shroud.

"Rei-sempai, is something wrong?" Trevor-kun asked, turning to look at her as she stopped in her tracks.

"There's an evil aura around this place," she said, narrowing her eyes as she looked around at the park. "I think the Dark Kingdom is going to attack."

Trevor-kun opened his mouth, seeming like he was just about to ask or say something, when the same old man the pair of them had met yesterday came stomping up to them through the trees.

~SM~

Kokuritsu-san grabbed his left wrist before either he or Rei-sempai could say anything at all to him, but Trevor tried to steady himself as best he could.

"Kokuritsu-san, what's going on?" he asked, trying to keep up with the man so he wouldn't end up being pulled over by the sheer speed Kokuritsu-san was walking at.

"You shouldn't be staying with those girls, Trevor-kun," Kokuritsu-san said, not even turning to look back at him. "They don't respect this place the way you do; they aren't connected to it. Not like you."

"I guess," he said, looking back over his right shoulder, back down the path where he, Rei-sempai, and Usagi had all been walking. "Still, they could learn to love this place," he said, biting his lower lip as he found himself thinking about his first parents again.

Kokuritsu-san scoffed, but he didn't say a single word, just kept dragging Trevor towards the shed where he kept the shrine he'd kept ever since Trevor's first parents had died.

~SM~

Pulling Trevor-kun into the shed, Kokuritsu set the boy in front of the shrine to his lost parents. They were the only ones who had truly respected the power and majesty of nature, and their son was thus the only one who deserved to be here in this park. Grabbing a nearby shovel, Kokuritsu waited for Trevor-kun to begin praying at the shrine, and struck Trevor-kun on the back of the neck just as he was beginning to look around the shed they were both standing in.

Catching Trevor-kun before he could fall to the ground, Kokuritsu gently laid Trevor-kun down on the wooden floor, then went to collect a bag of fertilizer.

He'd plant Trevor-kun's body in one of the larger flower beds, that way he could stay in the park that his parents had loved so much, while also having the chance to reunite with his beloved parents in the next life. Just as he was leaning down to pick Trevor-kun up, however, Kokuritsu felt a sudden, shooting pain in his head. Stumbling as Trevor-kun's unconscious body wavered and swam in his vision…

~SM~

Rising from the human that Master Nephrite had given to her, Petasos looked down at the pair of humans currently laying at her feet, she leaned down to look closer at the smaller human. He seemed to fit the impression that Master Nephrite had given her of the schoolboy Queen Beryl had been searching for for so long, and so Petasos reached down to wrap him up in her vines, calling over one of the largest of the animals so that she could set the schoolboy down on the back of the animal.

She'd have a far simpler time delivering the schoolboy to Master Nephrite with the aid of the animal she'd bound him to. Ordering the animal to follow in her wake, Petasos grinned as she turned to make her way back into the park. All that remained was to deal with those troublesome Sailor Guardians.

~SM~

When she'd met up with Rei-chan and Ami-chan, the first thing Usagi asked them was if either of them had seen Trevor-nii. Since Rei-chan had been sensing an evil aura in the park, the three of them had transformed into their Senshi forms to be able to fight against whatever Dark Kingdom youma was attacking the people in this park.

"I haven't seen him since Kokuritsu-san dragged him off," Ami-chan said, as the three of them met up with each other, following the trail of footprints that Trevor-nii and Kokuritsu-san had left behind.

She sighed, but before anyone could actually say anything, another of the Dark Kingdom's youma leaped out from behind a row of trees. She Rei-chan, and Ami-chan all jumped apart before the youma could fall on them, and Ami-chan quickly covered the area with her Bubble Spray before the youma could attack any one of them. Usagi bit her lip, knowing that it wouldn't do her any good to ask where the youma had taken Trevor-nii, but almost wanting to do it all the same.

Still, when Rei-chan aimed her Fire Soul at the youma, Usagi used her Moon Tiara Action at the same time.

~SM~

Leaning down to untie his partner from the sagging vines that had once been imprisoning him, he smiled as they began dissolving in his hands. It seemed as though the Sailor Senshi had been successful in destroying the youma that had been responsible for this attack. His partner's brown eyes fluttered, as he helped the younger boy back to his feet.

Picking his partner up, he leaped lightly into the trees, carrying his partner back to where the three Sailor Senshi were waiting for him.

"Tuxedo Kamen! Trevor-nii!" Sailor Moon called up happily, smiling widely at the pair of them as he jumped down to the ground in front of them.

"You've done very well, Sailor Senshi," he said, offering the three of them a smile, even as he helped his partner to stand back up as Sailor Moon came over to fetch him. "The Dark Kingdom will attack again, so be on your guard."

Turning, he leaped back into the trees, smiling softly as he heard the Sailor Senshi speaking to his partner, comforting him as the three of them all gathered around him. He was glad to know that his partner was doing so well, but there was a part of him that had found himself curious about where he belonged. And when he would find that place he belonged.

~SM~

She, Usagi-chan, Trevor-kun, and Rei-chan had all gone back into the park to search for Kokuritsu-san. She and Trevor-kun were at the front of the group, both since they were the ones who knew him better than most, and also because Trevor-kun had been the one dragged off by him just before the Dark Kingdom's youma had dragged him off.

"He's probably still going to be in the shed," Trevor-kun said, rounding a corner as the three of them came into sight of the tool shed that he'd been dragged off to.

Sure enough, Kokuritsu-san was just beginning to come out of the tool shed that Trevor-kun had led them to, looking around in confusion.

"Ami-chan, Trevor-kun," Kokuritsu-said said, making his way over to the pair of them. "What happened? Are you two all right?"

"Don't worry, Kokuritsu-san," she said, smiling brightly as Trevor-kun did the same. "You were just having a bad dream."

"Yeah, that's all it was," Trevor-kun said. "Probably just stress."

~SM~

Leaning against a tree, taking deep breaths to steady himself after that long, strange dream he'd seemed to be having, Mamoru Chiba found himself wondering again what could have been going on. He had a strange desire to speak with Trevor-kun, though about what he couldn't quite decide. There was just something that drew him to the younger boy.

Something besides the fact that the both of them were orphans, or that the both of them possessed strange powers of their own; something that bound the pair of them more closely than any two people had been bound before. Making up his mind to speak to Trevor-kun as soon as he could find the time, Mamoru turned to leave the park behind. There would be time to find Trevor-kun later, once he'd rested a bit.

Once he didn't feel so much like he was walking in a waking dream.
