No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter Three: Astronaut In The Ocean (Part 3)
...
Steve Rogers could tell that something happened to Tony while he was away, but the soldier didn't say anything about it when he got home.
The two of them met back up at their apartment in Brooklyn, and Tony seemed to be in a very affectionate mood. That behavior was pretty normal for Tony, but clearly something was up. His skin even felt a little hotter in that moment.
Steve thought about it for a sec.
He slowly breathed against Tony's burning shoulder, then he kissed it just a little bit. Steve needed to feel how hot it actually was. His lips touched Tony just for a moment longer.
His temperature was felt, so Steve tried to look at his face. The two of them were very coiled up. Tony looked a bit delirious where he was, and it made Steve smile.
The soldier estimated a timeframe. He kept quiet for a while, and he let Tony do his thing. Steve did all that because he knew that a confession was bound to happen at some point.
Steve gave it a few more seconds...
"We're needed in wizard town.."
Tony's voice broke out in their bedroom, but Steve said nothing. He understood that they were supposed to be getting ready for a small celebration. Steve was very aware of the time.
"Oh, yeah? Stephen can wait.."
The soldier absolutely LOVED to make Stephen Strange wait. He was already in a playful mood, but the thought of a moody Stephen brought more of it out. Tony's amused smile was also encouraging. Steve looked him over once again, then he brought his focus back down toward his skin.
Stephen could wait. Tony agreed with the notion, but his mind kept going back to what Bucky told him. He didn't trust Bucky Barnes, but what he said made his day.
Tony liked hearing it, and it was showing through his physical behavior. Steve almost asked him about it in that moment, but the confession about Bucky finally began.
"I saw your bestie, today. Did he tell you?"
Tony hid his face a little after that. Steve tried to move him, and his amusement almost burst through the roof. Say what now?
Bucky hadn't told Steve a damn thing. Steve thought about the last time he even saw Bucky, and it took him a while to remember if he said something.
... Nope.
Steve tried to move Tony again, and his objective was accomplished. The blonde had his unruly brunette all wrapped up beneath him. He kissed that skin again, and pondered what Tony was actually saying.
He was giving off some affectionate vibes after an encounter with his "bestie"? That was a first for Steve, so he indulged the playful chat.
"He didn't mention it."
Oh. Tony held the idea that Bucky and Steve communicated constantly, like giddy school girls. It was a terrible way to think of them, but for some reason...the image was a permanent thing in Tony's mind.
He was pinned beneath a yummy blonde, so Tony got a bit distracted before he said something further. Steve's body was all over his, and it was welcomed and explored.
Uhhh, right. Tony remembered his point. He was pretty flustered, and it seemed like Steve was taking advantage of his state of mind.
"He said, you were very happy. You supposedly told him that you were happy, with me?"
Did ya happen to mention that, blondie? Tony wasn't insecure about his relationship with Steve. What he heard was just a shock to his brain. Bucky saying that to him just...
Steve Rogers slowly arched a brow. He heard the gentle words that were said, and he reacted with a puzzled look. He definitely felt that way about Tony, but he couldn't remember a time when he said that to Bucky specifically.
...
Sly devil.
...
Steve briefly wondered what Bucky was trying to pull. He thought about a few conversations they had in the past, but ultimately his mind settled on Tony's flustered face. He looked cute. Smitten kitten.
Tony's father called him that a few times. Steve's smile strengthened. He worked up a response, because the brunette beneath him started squirming around.
"Is that all he said?"
It was an interesting moment. Anger normally filled the room whenever Tony had Bucky on his mind. His mood was still affectionate, and warm. Tony behaved like he had a buzz going in his soul.
He answered quietly, then acted un-phased. Tony told him that Bucky said "some crap" about seeing him later. Steve gave a short laugh. Bucky was clearly up to something. The idea of that immediately seeped through his skin.
He moved the two of them off the subject. He had to, because they had to make their way to Manhattan.
