No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter Nine: Astronaut In The Ocean (Part 9)

Soooooooo, apparently the two "not-so-broke" boys from Brooklyn spent a ton of time chatting and playing pool. Tony was mainly tagging along, and spending a day in the life of Steve Rogers with his bestie.

The brunette was very amused with how they behaved, and he really couldn't believe it.

Steve, Tony and Bucky ended up waiting around in some noisy sports pub. They talked about sports. Stephen Strange was taking forever, but none of them took notice.

The small talk between Tony and Bucky kept going on as well, but it was weird. Bucky was attempting to include Tony for once, and the bizarity of that didn't go unnoticed.

Steve and Tony were together, but they barely had anything in common. It was... fascinating.

Bucky thought about that, because it was killing him to try and find some shit to talk about that didn't leave Tony bitchass Stark out in the dark.

Tony kinda cared about sports, but he went cold when Bucky brought up Ezekiel. Talking about Natasha got dull, and Bucky didn't plan to bring up Howard Stark again.

He couldn't find anything in his brain that he could discuss with Tony, other than the common interest that they shared. Bucky and Tony both had an interest in...Steve Rogers.

A conversation about him was probably never going to occur politely, so Bucky considered that subject to be a loss. Talking about Stephen Strange was off limits as well, because Bucky and Tony had a rocky history when it came down to chatting about him.

So...
"I'm going to buy some booze."

Bucky needed to step away, and regroup. He left the love birds by the pool table, then he made his way over toward the bar.

Tony watched him leave. The smaller brunette wanted to drink as well, because "spending time" with Bucky Fucking Barnes was torture. He was doing his best to fake it, but grrrr...

Steve kept staring at Tony. The soldier wasn't fooled for a moment, but the situation amused him. Tony was still glaring in Bucky's direction, so Steve stepped in a little closer.

He quietly laughed, then told Tony that he appreciated the effort. Tony gasped a bit, and he looked up at that blonde. Effort? What effort?

Steve was onto him, and Tony gently rolled his eyes. He playfully tried to keep those hands off of him too, but the brunette failed. They stood all close in the pub, and Tony started looking at Steve's yummy clothes.

"So, this is what you two do all day?"

"Pretty much."

Hmmmmmmm... Tony had a million other things on his mind that he wanted to do. The majority of his thoughts were physical, and Bucky was permanently removed from the equation.

Possibly? He couldn't help but think that their little chit-chat gathering was, cute. Adorable, maybe. It felt very innocent compared to what he used to spend his time doing. Tony thought it all over, while Steve messed around with his shirt.

Steve Rogers was trying to get Tony's attention, but his unruly brunette kept spacing out.

"What are you thinking about?"

Steve could check, but he refrained. Tony woke up to that voice again. He refocused.

What was he thinking about? Well, Tony was very aware that he was being a friggen child, but the "other" brunette always seemed to bring out that side of him.

"Disneyland."

Tony lied. He had to, because he didn't want to talk about it. Steve's hands kept moving around, and Tony finally registered it. He looked at Steve. Processed. Tony wanted to leave with him and get back to what they were doing earlier. His mind was in that zone, but things kept showing up.

Bucky's giant pitcher of beer was one of those things. Tony was thinking about Steve's yummy body, but some shit was said about what type of beer it was.

Tony accepted the beer, and he slowly swallowed down the impulse to say something sarcastic.
