No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter Ten: Astronaut In The Ocean (Part 10)
Stephen Strange couldn't just tell his daughter that she had her own jurisdiction for her birthday, then dip out. He had to take her there and show her around.
He also had to continue the argument that he had going on with his sister. They both had to come up with some sort of plan when it came to his brother.
Stephen accomplished all of that. It took a long time, but all of his tasks were becoming complete. The sorcerer contemplated his inner checklist, but then he found himself stopping in front of Clea.
The sorcerer just...stopped.
She held a small smile, and her attention moved around that fancy apartment. Clea liked how it looked.
It took her a moment, but she asked him if he was ready to leave. Stephen told her that he was. She knew what his plan was, and she understood that he had to track down Tony and Steve.
"I noticed that you haven't been splitting yourself up."
Normally Stephen sent other versions of himself around the cosmos to accomplish everything that he needed to do.
Clea noticed that her husband was fully present in that moment, and she wondered why. She inwardly wondered if it was becoming too much. Stephen heard her, but he failed to respond to what was said.
He just kept looking at her.
It wasn't too much. Stephen felt like he had it handled. There were things that he wanted to be fully present for, and being home with Clea was one of those things.
Stephen sometimes slipped up. Slipped up, big time.
Thinking about it lengthened his silence. He said that he had to leave again to fix things with Victor. Speaking to Ezekiel was the first step, and it helped him get his mind right.
Clea accepted a kiss from him. She felt his arms, then she watched him leave. Stephen was trying to hold onto the person that he once was, and behave more and more like a "normal" person.
He made his way toward the energy that was carried around by his three friends. Bucky, Steve, and Tony all noticed Stephen's quiet arrival. He was wearing "normal" clothes, and it looked like he could use a drink.
The Father Husband Doctor Sorcerer Wizard Supreme declined the alcohol as he greeted the small pack. They were already discussing his brother Victor, but the Ezekiel thing remained a mystery for one of them.
Bucky wanted to know where the "White Jackal" was hiding, but it felt like he was about to get ditched.
