No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter Twenty: The Meddler (Part 10)
Steve Rogers and Victor Strange went on a walk. There wasn't a whole lot of talking at first, because Victor was thinking over what he needed to say. Steve had a soft spot for Victor, and the soldier related to his current behavior. The blonde asked him if he had eaten anything that morning.
Eaten anything? Victor neglected to think about it.
He just kept walking along. Steve's question threw him off a little. Victor paused. Processed. Steve mentioned something about a small shop with some good bagels.
He wanted to feed Victor, and help him become a little more relaxed. He seemed on edge, and distant. The issues he had with his brother and Ezekiel were slowly brewing beneath the surface.
The baby Strange wasn't sure how to truly get what he wanted.
"I want to talk to Ezekiel. I know you're hiding him, and I can't access his location."
Victor just came right out and said it. Steve was a bit surprised with the sudden boost in his confidence. The soldier stopped walking for a moment. He looked at Victor, then he thought about what he asked.
Unfortunately, Steve was unable to grant Victor's polite request. He kept looking at Stephen's brother until he decided to continue their walk. They were going to have a conversation about why, and Steve inwardly chose to take over the chat.
"Why do you need to talk to him?"
The question was offensive. Why did he NEED to talk to him? TCH... Victor's demeanor changed immediately. He became annoyed, and he tensed up a bit.
"Because he is hiding in my roommate's body. Starting drama."
Victor's current behavior reminded Steve of a feisty little brunette that he knew. Steve briefly wondered how it was going back at the apartment, but then he returned to Victor's comment.
In order for Ezekiel Stane to hide himself in someone else's body, he'd have to somehow leave Oshtur's realm. That information caused a deep contemplation to stir up within Steve.
"I want to know why he did that. He told me that he has to go "do something", or whatever. Fine...go do something. I don't care."
Fuck that, and fuck him. Victor wanted to tell him off. His baby rage was growing, and Ezekiel's behavior didn't help. His roommate was, nice.
Victor didn't like the notion that his friendly roommate was being used. Steve listened to the angry words that were being shared with him. The soldier thought that Victor's anger toward Ezekiel felt very forced.
Obviously, Victor loved Ezekiel, and the soldier could see that he was very hurt and confused.
"Ezekiel is still healing. I can't let you see him, but I can give him a message."
Steve had to tell him the truth. The "White Jackal" wasn't in a very good place, and he was distancing himself from Victor because he didn't want to hurt him.
That was the truth of it, so inhabiting another person's body was an interesting development. Victor hated every word that Steve said. The anger was very clear on his face, and he abruptly stopped walking.
He obviously hit a roadblock, and the baby sorcerer tried to deal.
"You can tell him that I said to FUCK OFF."
Keep "doing something". Victor gave Steve his friendly message, then he decided to end the conversation. The baby sorcerer stepped out of the scene entirely. He made a small motion with his hand, then he disappeared.
Steve gave a long pause, then he slowly inhaled. He listened to the lovely message that he was supposed to deliver, but he debated it. The soldier decided to pull out his old fashioned cellphone instead...
Steve slowly and carefully composed a text message to Victor's older brother.
