Chapter 2: Home Sweet Home
Mamoru looked into his bedroom for the umpteenth time since they had returned to the 20th Century yesterday. He had asked Sailor Pluto to alter his princess' family's memories as there was no way he was leaving her side until he knew that she was ok.
Sailor Pluto to her credit didn't ask any questions, she just nodded as she sent them on their way.
Chibi-Usa was staying with Makoto, as there was no way she could stay with the Tsukino's with no senshi there in case of an attack.
Luna and Artemis sat on his couch with Minako, The senshi had insisted that at least one of them would stay with him. They weren't scared of him hurting her, but after her appearance after her rescue everyone suspected what happened to her and were unsure how she would react to a male.
"Mamoru? Ami and Rei are going to come by with lunch. Is there anything else that you need?"
"Brush, female supplies, a test, muscle relaxers, pain killers, a milkshake, meal substitutions." Mamoru said not taking his eyes off of his sleeping princess.
"Did you two hear all that?" Minako asked into her communicator. After getting an affirmative answer she closed the device and went to stand on the balcony.
Luna got up and went to stand at Mamoru's feet as he watched the blond sleep. "This will all work out, Mamoru-sama."
"I am just worried about her, Luna. If I am right this wasn't just a small event."
Jumping up on a shelf Luna nodded, "We won't know until she wakes up."
Just then the blond on the bed rolled over and looked around. Realizing where she was she dove back under the covers in shame. Mamoru frowned as he made his way to the bed and softly said, "Usako? Usako, it is me, You are home and safe."
"I am sorry." She whispered. Mamoru looked to Luna who jumped on the bed and was nuzzling her charge through the blankets.
"What are you sorry for? You didn't do anything wrong."
She looked up from under the blankets, "You're wrong! You do not know what happened, You don't know what he did, What I did."
Reading her body language, he kept still where he had sat on the bed. It was killing him. Mamoru wanted to reach out to her, to hold her and comfort her. She looked ashamed and scared and it broke his heart as he saw tears silently falling. "Whatever happened, we will get through this. I am not going to leave you, no matter what." He said looking her straight in the eyes.
"Oh my lord! Usagi!" Minako said coming into the bedroom. Usagi pulled her legs to her chest.
KNOCK KNOCK
Minako realizing she was closest to the door went to open the door for the girls, who had their hands full. Opening the door she took a couple bags from her friends as she held the door. "Mako? Chibi-Usa?"
Mamoru hearing that the younger child had also arrived, looked from Usagi to the bedroom door. "Are you up to seeing anyone?" Usagi shook her head and pulled the blankets up and tried to make herself even smaller.
"Are you ok, if I go and talk to them?" She nodded.
"Do you want any of the girls to come see you?" She thought for a minute before shaking her head.
He sighed, "Are you ok being alone with me?" She nodded.
Mamoru stood, "Ok! I am going to go and talk to everyone. I will be back in a little bit. Do you need anything? Want anything?" Usagi just rolled over cuddling Luna.
Mamoru leaned over and kissed her forehead. He felt her stiffen. Sighing he got up and left the room, pausing at the door. Looking once more at his princess before closing the door.
Chibi-Usa seeing Mamoru come out of the bedroom ran to him, "Mamo-chan, how is Usa?"
Mamoru knelt in front of the little girl, his future daughter. "She needs some time… I am sure she will be fine in a little bit." He hugged her before standing up to address the older girls as they were unpacking the bags.
"You said brush, but that made us think about what else she might need. I got her some shampoo, conditioner, body wash, loofa, toothbrush, deodorant." Rei told him taking a bag to the bathroom.
"We got her the female supplies, and I hit the pharmacy and asked for this," Ami said holding up a small box that read "Plan B".
Mamoru looked horrified, "You really think that…" he paused looking for the child, who was looking through a crack in the door of the bedroom. Turning back to the blue haired girl he said, "I am not going to be the one to bring that option up to her." Everyone looked at him, "She seems nervous enough with being around me as if she is waiting for me to blame her. I am not going to imply that if she was to … have consequences from the event that I wouldn't accept her."
The girls shared a look and Ami took the box and headed to the bedroom. Makoto looked to Mamoru as she put some food in the fridge, "I will hit the store for you two tomorrow for basic pantry items. If there is anything specific you need or want, just let me know."
"What is in the luggage?" Minako asked picking it up and carrying it over to the couch.
"I took Chibi-Usa to the Tsukino's house and with her help we went to her room and through some personal items in the bag for her." Makoto looked to Mamoru who didn't look happy.
"It was my idea," Chibi-Usa said in defense of the older girl. "I know that when I first arrived I missed certain things from home… and although it isn't the same, I thought she might appreciate some things."
Mamoru smiled at the little girl. "That was very thoughtful of you. I am sure you are right and that Usa will appreciate it."
Ami had slowly entered the bedroom and watched as her friend moved uncomfortably on the bed. It wasn't until Luna nuzzled her and motioned with her head did the blonde look up at the blue haired girl. "How are you doing, Usagi?"
Usagi sat up but pulled her legs close to her chest and shrugged. "I know that this must be hard and although you haven't said anything … well most of us have our suspicions as to what potentially happened to you." Usagi quickly hid her face. "None of us blame you. I wanted to make sure that you had access to all your options." Ami said as she approached the bed. "If you take this within the next 48-hours it will help prevent… well you know."
Usagi shuffled away from Ami and laid back down hiding under the covers this time pushing Luna away. Ami got back up and stopped at the door, "I will leave it here, if you decide…" she trailed off. This was hard on all of them as none of them knew how to help Usagi deal with the trauma and could only pray that she would bounce back and allow them to help her.
Chibi-Usa snuck past Ami with something clutched close to her chest and went to sit on the floor next to the bed where she looked up at the girl that in the future would be her mom. The blonde girl's hair was a mess the buns were coming out and her cheeks were red from crying. 'She looks so different… a scared kind of sad. I hope I am right, and this will help.' The little girl said revealing the golden item in her grasp, she looked down at the precious item and slowly opened it.
Usagi slowly opened her eyes as her ears picked up on the soft melody that had started to play. As her eyes opened, she noticed the little girl sitting on the floor and holding the golden star locket up so she could see it. "Thank you," she said hoarsely.
Makoto called Chibi-Usa and the little girl sadly got up. Placing the locket on the nightside table she leaned over and kissed the blonde, "I hope you feel better soon… mama. I love you." And with that the girl headed toward the door.
After they were alone again, Mamoru brought in a tray with some of Usagi's favorites and a milkshake. He sat there as she picked at the food, not sure what to say. "I had the girls pick up somethings I thought you might need and Chibi-Usa had Makoto take her to your parent's place and got some personal…" He froze seeing the star locket sitting closed on the nightstand. "If we missed anything, you can let us know and we will get it for you."
Usagi looked up sadly, she knew he was hurting. She knew seeing her like this hurt him, but she just didn't know how to tell him anything. Looking back down at the assortment she continued to move it around. "The girls brought you bath supplies." She brightened up, she desperately wanted to was that horrible man from her skin. Seeing her reaction Mamoru smiled, "I will go run a bath for you then."
Mamoru got up and smiled at her as he headed to the bathroom. He started filling the tub, put a bath bomb in the water, de-tagged the loofa and began opening the different soaps. Lastly, he got a housecoat from a closet along with some towels. Taking one last look around to make sure he hadn't missed anything he went back to the bedroom.
Despite her ragged appearance she still looked like a gorgeous angel sitting with her legs held to her chest on his bed. "Ready?" He asked. She nodded as she moved the covers. "May I carry you to the bath?"
She blushed and looked away, "I feel so dirty." The tears started to fall. "I told him NO! I wanted you to be …."
He rushed to her side and without a thought embraced her, holding her close to his chest. "I know! I know! It isn't your fault. If anyone is to blame it is me for not getting there in time." Mamoru said as he rubbed her back and kissed her hair. "But let's not think of that right now. Let me help you get into a nice relaxing bath."
With that said he picked her up and carried her carefully to the bathroom. 'I should have had one of the girls stay. As much as I would love to stay here and comfort her I don't know if she would …'
Usagi got out of his arms and without a word started to take of the sweater dress that she had been wearing, "Mamo… where did this dress come from?"
He turned around so his back was to her as she stripped. "When I found you, you were naked. I initially wrapped you in my cape as there was some kind of power or energy that made it hard to use my powers. Once we were safely back at the Crystal Palace, I used my crystal to put that on you."
"Thank you," she said softly. "Please don't be mad as I ask… please get rid of it."
"Is there anything else I can do for you?" He said looking at the floor to find the discarded item.
"No…" Usagi's voice softly said as he heard the shower turn on.
Luna had followed them to the bathroom as she like Mamoru didn't want to leave Usagi's side. Mamoru smiled at the cat and mouthed a 'Thank you' as he left to dispose of the garment, clean up from the meal and change the bedding.
As Mamoru was putting fresh sheets on the bed he heard Luna calling him, "Mamoru!"
Mamoru raced to the bathroom to see Luna trying to stop Usagi as she appeared to be scrubbing her skin from her body. "Usako! Usako, stop." He reached in and took her hand holding it away from her body.
Usagi struggled, "I have to get it off of me!" She screamed, startling both Mamoru and Luna as that was the loudest thing she had said since her rescue.
"Usako! Usako, look at me." Mamoru said sternly. "You are clean enough." Looking cautiously at Luna, he sighed. "Obviously I cannot leave you alone in here." He took the loofa and threw it into the bathroom sink. He then stripped down to his boxers and picked her up and sat down with her in his lap in the bath.
Mamoru gently cupped the water and lapped it on her as he whispered softly to her, that it wasn't her fault; there was nothing she could have done; that his love for her had not changed; that they would figure it all out together, emphasizing on together. He took her hair down and using the removeable shower head shampooed her hair letting the shampoo and water wash over his chest.
He slowly felt her relax and after a while of soaking he got up wrapping himself in a towel, lifting her out of the tub he placed her on her feet long enough to wrap her in the robe and her hair in a towel before carrying her back to the partially made bed. He laid her down and finished making the bed with her on it. Seeing that she had fallen asleep he motioned for Luna to curl up on the bed as he left the room.
Much to the dismay of her friends, Usagi didn't get out of bed for anything short of using the bathroom for the rest of the week. Mamoru brought her three meals in each day, while he spent the nights watching over her and sleeping on the couch. The girls took turns stopping by and bringing supplies, while also trying to keep Mamoru and Usagi's spirits up.
Mamoru had Minako bring Chibi-Usa by on the Sunday to help him get Usagi out of the bedroom long enough for him to change the bedding. He carried her into the bathroom where Minako and Chibi-Usa had prepared a bath for her. He had warned Minako about the loofa incident, to which she nodded. Minako focused on helping wash her friend and her long hair, while the little girl chatted to them about everything and nothing that she had done that week.
Mamoru smiled when the three girls came out of the bathroom, Usagi looking much more like herself as Minako had helped put her hair in its normal style. "Everyone hungry?"
Chibi-Usa smiled and cheered as she saw the spread of sushi and curry on the counter. "Looks like a buffet, Mamoru."
Usagi just smiled as she sat down at the table. Mamoru wasn't sure if she would help herself or not and so had plated some for her which he placed before her as he took his seat next to his princess.
Mamoru had updated each girl as they had visited over the week letting them know that Usagi had indeed been r ped. She refused to even look at the plan B box and by now it wouldn't help. He had swapped it for a pregnancy test, which she also refused to look at and he wasn't going to force her to. Starting this week they had decided on a schedule for who would be by on which days and how the day would go.
Each day Mamoru would wake her up by 9AM, they would have breakfast, get dressed including doing her hair, and either go for a walk or spend some time on the balcony getting fresh air. After lunch Mamoru and her would either read or watch some TV to relax. The scheduled girl would arrive after school with homework and make up work, staying to give her company apart from Mamoru and freeing him to do some errands and catch up with his professors who were currently being very understanding with him, he wasn't sure if that was thanks to Pluto or not. After supper, the girl would offer to stay and help with a bath and then the couple would get ready for bed.
Mamoru would change the bedding every two days. If she hadn't washed in between the girl that was there would make sure she washed while Mamoru did the bedding. A calendar was set up to keep track as well.
By week three Usagi was starting to talk to everyone again, although she would clamp up if the event was brought up. She was also expressing more emotions when the girls visited and took advantage of the opportunity to get out of the apartment, which helped everyone relax.
