No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter Thirty-Two: When Worlds Collide (Part 2)

...

Ezekiel Stane was hiding inside a fancy white suit. It always resembled a chess piece.

Victor Strange couldn't see it, but he asked him another question. He asked Ezekiel to explain why he decided to randomly show up at his apartment.

"I was invited."

Steve Rogers told him to intervene. The response made Victor even angrier. It wasn't uncontrollable, but it felt intense.

The baby Strange kept clenching his fists, and he tried to draw in a normal breath. Each inhale felt hot, and he wasn't sure how to tone it down.

"What's happening to you right now, in this moment?"

Ezekiel had to know. He thought about taking Victor somewhere else. The Jackal had a few places in mind where they could hide.

Laying low seemed like the best plan for them going forward, so Ezekiel slowly altered the scene around them. He kept looking at Victor while the peaceful little home that they were building together came back into view.

That home was completely off the grid. Silent. Safe. The two of them had lived there for a while.

Ezekiel developed the ability to make it stay or go.

Victor immediately closed his eyes when the familiar walls emerged around him. He tried not to lash out at the ridiculous question. What was happening? TCH. Victor wasn't really sure.

Victor wanted to friggin shove Ezekiel through the wall behind him, but he didn't. He couldn't even see him.

The baby Strange composed himself as best he could, and he tried to speak to some crime-lord without all the hostility.

It didn't work, so Victor bit his tongue. He tried to power through the impulse to say what he really felt, and he absolutely refused to look up toward Ezekiel's face.

That white suit finally appeared. It was disassembling before him, and the "White Jackal's" face became exposed.

He looked over Victor's clothing and took note of how upset he looked. Ezekiel also studied what he could see of Victor's skin.

The Jackal was heeding in every detail that he could. Strong. Consuming. Bitter. Eager. It didn't take very long..

Stephen's "baby" brother took a few steps in his direction. Victor crossed over any possible line between them, and it was intense.

Ezekiel's body immediately warmed up. Victor started kissing him, and the sudden contact really affected him. He had to brace himself.

It felt...

The Jackal drew in a slow breath. He returned Victor's advance, but he started studying how it all made him feel.

They were alone together once again. The house around them was the only hiding place that had
been "successful". They both felt at home there, and somewhat safe.

Ezekiel got lost there way too often, and that was why he had to make it disappear. He was trying
to fix what happened with his body. Getting constantly distracted, and becoming lost in some sort of bliss didn't really help.

He backed out of their kiss abruptly, because Victor ran a hand over his skin. It startled Ezekiel,
and the baby Strange took notice. Victor was roaming the damage, and feeling around for some sort of truth.

"I just want to see."

Victor almost yelled it, but he didn't. He started glaring at Ezekiel instead, then he eased
back just a little bit. He already had a part of Ezekiel's stomach exposed beneath his shirt, but everything else felt concealed.

The Jackal watched those greedy fingertips. Victor started pushing his shirt up as far as he could.

They started kissing again, and Ezekiel gently took ahold of those hands. Victor was getting too close to his deepest wound, and he wasn't sure if he should see.

That quiet room started heating up, but it wasn't enough for one of them. Victor wanted to make
use of his hands, and relocate them. He friggen needed it.

They hadn't seen each other for months, but Ezekiel wouldn't let him take it any further.

A frustration about that started brewing, and a few questions about someone's behavior suddenly emerged.

"So, why were you hiding in my roommate's body? I felt it, so don't lie."

Did someone forget? Victor seriously rolled his eyes. The "White Jackal" heard him. He pondered the question. Yes, he concealed himself within Victor's roommate, and Ezekiel didn't feel like explaining himself in that moment at all.

"You can't move twice."

That meant, one thing at a time Victor. Ezekiel glanced up at the person that he was trying to build some sort of a life with as he gave his response.

In the game of chess, you couldn't do what Victor Strange was trying to accomplish.
Did he want to see what was going on beneath his shirt? Or did he want to talk about some stunt that he pulled with some, roommate?

He wanted Victor to focus and only make one specific choice.

That choice was made when Victor returned to the question. He told Ezekiel to explain why he
showed up at his "other place".

Stephen's sibling could be very demanding when he wanted to be, and he was just as stern as his
brother. The Jackal felt that as he listened to him. He kept glancing up.

Why did he show up at his other place? You mean... Victor didn't know? Ezekiel looked down at his shirt again. His wounds were almost exposed.

It felt like his inner soul was being exposed in that moment. Ezekiel started thinking that covering up his wounds wasn't the best decision.

It wasn't getting him anywhere, and it obviously
overshadowed what he felt for Victor.

"I went there because I missed you."

He didn't want the baby sorcerer to catch onto that, of course, but it happened. Those
overwhelming emotions, and the truth of it all, became hard for the Jackal to ignore. He couldn't resist it, so he slowly released Victor's hands.

Ezekiel let Victor react to what was said, and the quiet Jackal just gave in.
