No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter Thirty-Three: When Worlds Collide (Part 3)
...
"You know, I saw you two once. At the Barracuda."
...
Tony heard the voice that wouldn't quit. He glanced up from his work, then he tried to decipher what the infamous "Deadpool" was taking about.
He kept mentioning Steve. He said that he saw them once, at the "Barracuda". Tony eventually understood that Wade Wilson was talking about a bar.
The "Barracuda" was a filthy little night club that he went to all the time in Brooklyn. Memories of his behavior there returned, so Tony's face started warming up just a little bit.
"Oh? What were you doing there..."
"Looking for a date."
Tony gave the man a small smile. If he really was spotted with Steve at the Barracuda, then Tony knew that he probably wasn't behaving himself.
They had a thirst for public encounters. The brunette wondered what Deadpool witnessed, but he didn't ask.
Tony was fulfilling his part of the plan while the others were consumed in some sort of S.H.I.E.L.D. drama deliberation.
Tony didn't have time for that shit, so he had Wade Wilson sealed up within a cryo-tube. It was strong enough to contain the Incredible Hulk, and everything that the clever mercenary had to offer.
Wade watched Tony inspect parts of a sample. He felt a bit bored there in the cryo-tube, so it amused him to constantly bring up Steve Rogers. Deadpool could tell that he was hitting a buzzer with the subject.
"You looked like you were enjoying yourself."
Tony tried not to smile. He wasn't doing any sort of dancing when it came to sharing space at a club with Steve. He did enjoy himself tho, the brunette didn't doubt that.
He responded with a simple nod, but it was obvious that he was hiding a smile.
"It's gotta be a solid ten, everytime. Am I right? He seemed very bulked up, ready to go."
And DAMN, it seemed like a ten. Wade wanted to feel a ten right there in that luxurious laboratory. He was asking about something very specific, but he was being vague about it to get Tony talking.
...
"I'd say it's more like a twenty."
Tony responded, and Deadpool got giddy. He practically rolled around in his technological prison.
A twenty? Wow. He wondered how that was even possible.
"Unfortunately for me, I have to pay for a twenty..."
Tony almost choked. Deadpool was hilarious, but the brunette tried not to break. He was about to pop off in the chat and actually talk to him about what he was saying.
Hooking up with Steve Rogers was always a fucking 20. He broke the richter scale with just his smile alone. Wade Wilson wanted to chat about it? Welll...
"So, how did you earn that twenty? He seemed needy for it."
Wade was curious and he was bored. Tony almost laughed again, but he didn't. How did he earn that twenty ranked Barracuda encounter with Steve? What a thing to ask.
Tony really didn't know what the chemistry was. He started thinking about their first little date. He also remembered how forward he had been with Steve's shiny new body.
"I think I hit a home run pretty early on in the game, and I guess Steve never looked back."
That was Tony's explanation, and it made Wade Wilson roll around again. Tony thought he was looney. He used an oldschool baseball reference in tribute to Steve, and it seemed like Deadpool caught the drift.
Tony felt pretty amused. He tried to focus on the work that was in front of him, but the subject had him thinking about some, blonde.
The impulse to head home began to build. Tony glanced back up in Wade's direction for just a moment.
The assassin was stretched out within the cryo-tube. He asked about the length of his prison sentence, but Tony didn't have an answer to give him.
"You're Stephen's prisoner, not mine."
Don't forget that. Tony reminded him once again, and he continued to look over the samples that he had of Deadpool's skin.
