No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 34: When Worlds Collide (Part 4)

Clint Barton carried the clean pile of laundry to his old room, then he set it down beside his small bed. The archer felt alone there. Alone enough to bring his cellphone out once again.

He read the simple message that he received from Victor Strange. The baby archer hadn't responded to it at that point.

He wasn't sure how to respond, and it was bothering him. Ezekiel was supposedly back, and...

Barton thought about a conversation that he had with Victor. Deep down, it seemed like Victor didn't trust him at all. Something seemed off.

Right?

It was an odd feeling for the archer, and he was currently dwelling on it.

He liked living outside the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, and he actually liked living with Victor Strange. This version of Clint Barton was pretty young, and he had developed a habit of mainly going with the flow.

He wanted his roommate to trust him, or eventually feel at home where they were. It all seemed ruined tho, so the archer silently processed what was left.

It was pretty stupid for a person to process nothing, so he tried to let it go.

He heard an announcement up above his head. The archer was being called to the aircraft hangar, and it helped him leave the room. Clint found his way back to Bucky Barnes, and the two of them headed out.

They were boarding a quinjet faster than the archer could blink, but he processed Bucky asking him a couple questions. He asked the baby archer if he was doing ok, because he wasn't acting like his normal self.

"I'm fine. Thanks."

He was just thinking about... stuff, and very glad to be leaving the base. Clint wasn't sure where they were going, but knowing that information didn't seem to matter.

Bucky kept an eye on him as he quietly entered the quinjet. The archer travelled up to his hiding spot. He had a little bird nest up above everyone else on the quinjet. Bucky kept looking up there for a moment, then he noticed a glow from his phone.

The baby archer checked his phone again, and it was weird.

Bucky shrugged the behavior off because something beautiful caught his eye. Natasha Romanoff finally approached the person that she lived with, and she maintained an amused grin.

"You've missed a few things."

"I heard all about it."

The Widow kept looking at the not-so-winter soldier. He looked very handsome, like always, and she was glad to see him.

Natasha smiled at Bucky Barnes, then her eyes wandered up toward the little bird nest.
